The team at ‘This Is Not Here’ have taken their inspiration from all the good and bad experiences they have had through extensive travelling across the world to create what they believe is a unique brand. The concept is to create memories, not just stays! It is all about the customer experience. If you do decide to book with us (which we hope you will), we want you to leave with the five star WOW factor and become a returning regular friend. Each cottage has been meticulously thought-out with décor, furnishings, fixtures and art work. Some of the furniture, lights, ornaments and prints are available to purchase. We have a strong sustainability ethos, although very much on a journey. This ethos has a principle of where ever possible only using local trades, shops and produce. The cottages have ground source heating and all the properties are supplied with Green electricity. We can provide locally sourced meats from our butcher or you can go and meet Carl yourself. Responsibly sourced fish from our Fish Monger and again you can meet Richard if you would like. Milk (in returnable glass bottles) from a small dairy in the Yorkshire Dales (no super herds) along with local Eggs, Butter, Cream and Orange Juice (again in returnable glass bottles) can be provided by our Milk lady, Christine. There are also numerous small Artisan Bakeries, Pâtissier, Green Grocers and other great food and drink businesses in the local area.We realise there is more to do on being sustainable, this is our journey and if you have any ideas on how we could improve whilst staying with us we’d love to hear them. We are more than happy to discuss any requirements you may have for your luxury break and make it personal to you. We can organise the occasional day, evening or your entire stay. These could include (but not limited to) Chauffeured Excursion, Private Chef, Caviar Experience, Yoga, Wine Tasting. This can be organised before you arrive or during your stay and is subject to availability. Please do not feel any obligation to do any of these things, your stay with us is about creating a luxurious memorable experience, this may mean you only want to book the cottage and relax in complete privacy whilst taking in the beautiful views and wildlife, luxurious surroundings, antiques and artwork. We always provide a starter welcome pack free of charge, this includes, fresh milk, tea, filter coffee, sugar and dishwasher tablets. We are happy to organise a Bakers, Fish Mongers, Butchers and Green Grocers hamper for you or combination, please let us know and we can discuss your requirements. Well behaved pets are very welcome and do not attract any additional charge, all we ask is you let us know if your bringing a pet and do not allow them on the beds or furniture. Morgan Cottage at ‘This Is Not Here’ is a luxurious and meticulously equipped self-catering property, decorated in Farrow and Ball colours and furnished with antiques, paintings, photographs and prints by various artists. Most pieces in the cottage have a story such as the wall telephone that is converted to work on modern exchanges, the print of the Darley Arabian that was brought to the UK by a local family or prints from the local world-renowned wildlife artist Robert E Fuller. The cottage stands in the grounds of the main house. The property is gated and you will be provided with your own unique code to allow you to come and go as you please. Sleeping up to 6 adults (2 bedrooms with and a sofa bed in the living area), this cottage has everything you need for an unforgettable break that has the ethos of ‘collect memories not things’. It is attached to Jenson Cottage that can sleep upto 4 adults (2 bedrooms), although both cottages are independent of each other. https://airbnb.com/h/thisisnothere-jensoncottageIt has its own private patio area just opposite the cottage with a large luxury glass table with 8 chairs and parasol, Gas BBQ and cast iron fire pit. There is also a communal secure bike store. Inside you will find the latest Dualit and NEFF appliances along with plenty of pans, crockery, cutlery and glasses. There are two SMART televisions that have Netflix, iPlayer etc and the facility for other pay to view services such as Amazon Prime and Now TV. There is a Bose speaker that can connect to your SMART device via Bluetooth and of course WiFi throughout with your own unique access code. The settee in the main living area pulls out to a very comfortable bed. There is emergency lighting and smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. The cottage benefits from beautiful views of the Yorkshire Wolds and is situated in a peaceful traditional farming village. Its location is ideal for visiting Malton and York (which are circa eight miles away) as well as the Yorkshire Wolds, North Yorkshire Moors and the fabulous East Coast. We also have electric car charging facilities, should you require. Stamford Bridge is only one and a half miles away and has all the amenities you could want, Butcher, Baker, Farm Shop, Pubs that serve food, Bistro, Cash Machine, Takeaways, Doctors, Dentist etc. Stamford Bridge also has a regular bus service to York. Malton is a must for food lovers and is also the place that gave Charles Dickens’ the inspiration for 'A Christmas Carol' whilst staying with his friend Charles Smithson. Charles Dickens’ close link with Malton stemmed from his friendship with Charles Smithson, a member of a Solicitor’s family who practised in Chancery Lane, Malton and shared also in the London firm Smithson and Dunn. Their office in Chancery Lane was the model for Scrooge’s Office and the ‘Bells’ were those of St Leonard’s Church on Church Hill. There are also lots of other villages close by with excellent pubs, community shops and lovely walks and rides.About pets:Pets allowed.Pets are strictly not allowed on the beds.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 4:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 18.About events:No events allowed.

Very pleasant staff on check in. Parking free and could spill into Toby Carvery car park next door with no fear of being stung for parking charges. Room had everything we needed and was accessible - hairdryer attached to mirror. Places to hang towels on walls. Plenty of hanging space. Spacious shower and Dove toiletries. Comfy beds. Excellent breakfast. Staff were brilliant. Dealt with spillages efficiently and with a smile and tables were cleared promptly. Only negative was decor was perhaps a little tired. Perhaps a key card entry to access bedrooms although reception was 24 hour. Would recommend 👍

Cost-effective, convenient, private, convenient parking, few hotel staff, just one in the morning and one in the afternoon. It is best to arrive at the hotel before 7 pm, otherwise the door will be closed. Find the staff in charge of breakfast, you can have laundry service, 5 pounds. The nearby supermarket is very convenient and the room is spacious. The light is very good and I saw the fire cloud. The shower room is very narrow, and it is estimated that it is very inconvenient for the big man to use. Hand sanitizer hand soap and body soap are provided.

Online check in wasn't working new system issues but that was ok. Very friendly staff. 24hr reception, menu etc. breakfast prices need updating as they are £8 not £6. Light help yourself breakfast pastries toast, cereal and coffee. Nice spacious dining hall. Plenty of communal areas to sit and relax and the bar is a great place to meet and chat to people. The stairs were a challenge after a long day for me but rooms comfy. Curtains around beds give you good privacy. Trinity church over the road has lots of history and worth a visit. Regency Chinese is a great place to eat a short walk away. Close to the walls, station, city, bridges etc.. great for sight seeing. In a quiet part of the city. Loved my stay. Would stay here again. It's really great! I knew before booking that the hotel was run by a Chinese owner, but after arriving, I was able to communicate with my mother tongue about the journey. This feeling is really wonderful. The owner is still an alumnus! We arrived earlier than the check-in time and wanted to put down our luggage first, but the room was already cleaned, so we were arranged to check in early! Then the owner was very patient to draw a map and recommend tourist spots and restaurants. After checking in, I found that although this hotel is not a traditional luxury hotel, I can feel the intention of the operator. For example, the noise reduction and sound insulation of the entire hotel are very good, just like the iron frame stairs at the back door, which is very considerately covered with plastic mats to greatly reduce the noise of the iron stairs. There is basically no creaking sound of the traditional British house floor when walking in the room, so there is no need to worry about affecting the guests downstairs. I especially recommend everyone to book breakfast! See the photos for details! It's really very rich! In addition, it is also very convenient to travel! There is a small path from the train station parking lot that can pass through the hotel. It takes 5-6 minutes to walk quickly without luggage. It takes about 8-10 minutes to drag large luggage. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel that takes you directly to the cathedral. I hope I can return to York and stay here again if I have the chance.

Good location (turning corner is the cathedral) but it is a hotel attached to the restaurant, so I waited for a long time when I checked in. No one at the counter rang. No one waited for more than 10 minutes. Others were waiting. There was no elevator. I helped to get it up (4th floor) Check out and wait for no one to hang down by themselves. It took a long time for someone to check out. Living in the attic is a bit cold. The quilt is not warm enough. The spare parts are good.

Check in after 3 pm, the front desk did not even have a personal shadow, to call the landlord, and later other guests who lived in it opened the door for us. The bathroom bathing table is not a mixing valve, the hot and cold faucet is separated, the distance is far, the water in winter, while cold, while burning, heating is supplied in time, not all day. Breakfast is hard to say, I want to change the bacon (salty and dry, unpalatable to death) to a sausage, the answer is NO, every table seems to be in the mood to order, there is no toast on the menu, the table next door, our table is not on, I asked the next table is ordered separately, they said no, anyway, it is on. The deposit in the room was deducted directly without telling it. I thought the card was stolen and the credit card was frozen urgently. In short, it was a very bad experience. Not easy to bad reviews, but the experience is really bad.

I arrived late evening after a long journey and received a lovely welcome and an upgrade upon checking in. Both the hotel and the room were stunning. The stair case alone is so beautiful. My bed was super comfy and my room had a roll top bath and a separate rain dance shower. The water pressure was great for such an old building too. I also had a view of York Minster. It’s right next to the train station but also easy walking distance to the city centre.

Comfortable, free parking, good service, good breakfast! Pay attention to the bathroom is relatively thin, foreign water pressure is relatively fine!

I had a fantastic stay at the Hull Humber View Hotel! The location is perfect, with stunning views of the Humber Bridge 🌉 and just a quick drive to Hull city center. My standard room was clean and comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. The service was top-notch; the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring I felt welcome throughout my stay. The facilities were decent, with a lovely bar and restaurant offering tasty meals. Overall, a solid 4.5 stars for a great solo getaway! Can't wait to return! 😄
