Good place to stay on A1. Not so busy as other service station areas but useful shops such as George's, Costa, M&S, etc. Wyndham Days Inn has nice rooms, good showers. But used to do early breakfast 6.30 and now starting breakfast after 7 which is not so good if you want an early start

This charming, two-bedroom, single-storey gate lodge offers a unique opportunity to stay on the privately-owned Ribston Estate, the history of which dates back to the 12th century. Providing comfortable accommodation for up to four [4] guests, Walshford Lodge is a characterful, pet friendly cottage with superb country walks on the doorstep. Take a leisurely drive and explore a truly fascinating, historic area of Yorkshire; take a drive with your bike and cycle the challenging Tour de Yorkshire Dales routes; or simply take time out, relax, and enjoy the peace and quiet of this special rural escape.The property’s master bedroom has a king-sized bed - which can be split into twins as required – plus a second, double-bedded room. What a little gem of a place. First time visit, travelling on my own for business. Perfect location for me. Beautiful room, very clean, warm and comfortable with plenty of towels and pillows. Big TV, easy to navigate remote! Bathroom was spotless, nice complimentary toiletries. Comfy bed, had a good sleep once I managed to get off, could hear other guests on the corridor, but I guess I was earlier settling in than the average on a Sunday evening (early to work Monday!) Breakfast was really good quality, fair selection of hot and cold options, lots of fresh fruit on offer too. Very impressed, bit disappointed I arrived later on the Sunday evening and decided not to have an evening meal now!

I stayed one night only but had a spacious and clean room with a comfortable bed which was great. I enjoyed the evening meal, though choices were limited, and a very good buffet breakfast. The hotel was conveniently situated next to the train station which was ideal for me. The staff were friendly and welcoming too.
