Hotels Near Back Road Oval, Trinity College in Adelaide

I communicated with the hotel, they said I stayed a week they only change the bed sheets once, I stayed for two days this time, they did not help you clean the bed, relatively, other hotels, do not change the bed sheets also help clean the bed, the worst is Not cleaning up the garbage and adding coffee and milky, came to stay yesterday for work, also hope to come back in the evening can rest, drink a cup of coffee, they should improve, otherwise I will not introduce friends.

Do NOT GO to the restaurant, Koomo, on the 10th floor for dinner. The worst service we have had in any Crowne Plaza, or in any restaurant in Adelaide, and the most incompetent management to fix a very trivial issue. Last night my wife and I had booked a table for 6 people - two clients and two colleagues from Sydney and Perth.  The restaurant was about half full when we arrived. There were only 2 waitresses working in the restaurant, and it took us more than half an hour to be given menus, and a wine order to be taken.  It took another 20 minutes, after asking many times, for our food order to be taken. Two of our guests ordered a la carte from the menu,  and the other four wanted to try the ”tasting menu” - more expensive than the al la carte menu, with various preset courses. This is where things really started to go wrong. The tasting menu consisted of a choice between beef and chicken. Three people wanted beef and the other person wanted chicken.We were told by the waitress that the kitchen would not cook only one chicken for one person, and that two people would have to have this - in other words the four people could be served either all beef, or 2 chicken + 2 beef, but not 1 chicken and 3 beef. We really thought the waitress was joking, but realised she was serious. We asked her, very politely, if she could have a word with the kitchen and try to arrange this ”difficult” request. Some 15 minutes later the waitress returned and told us that it was not possible and the kitchen was not prepared to cook only one portion of chicken - it must be two portions and somebody else in our group wanting beef should cancel his beef and eat chicken instead. We asked to see the manager to see if he could sort this out, and very clearly told the waitress that if we could not get the food we wanted from the menu, then we would leave and go to another restaurant. No manager came to see us, but the waitress returned and told us that she had discussed with the manager and that the kitchen still refused to cook only one portion of chicken. We were not impressed. We paid the bill for the wine,  put on our coats and left the restaurant. As we were leaving someone from management (hotel or restaurant?) came to us and asked if we could reconsider and stay, and he would ”try” and convince the kitchen. Too late - our first experience of trying the Koomo restaurant had already been spoiled - poor service from the beginning and no feeling whatsoever for handling customers, and not any attempt to fix the very minor point of what we wanted to order by the management, until we were actually leaving.  I do not blame the waitress - she was caught in the middle with no support from the kitchen staff or the management. This is absolutely a management issue - one of making sure that all staff are trying their best to give good service to their customers, especially if the restaurant is selling itself as a high end one. My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this year by visiting Adelaide. Stamford Plaza was our main base as we travelled throughout the region experiencing all of the arts, culture, history, Architecture, food and wine of the region. Our stay at Stamford Plaza was pleasant and clean with all the amenities needed in a central location. To raise the bar though it was the service we received at Stamford Plaza from Jacqui aka Jax that made it extra special. From her warm welcome, recommended attractions and hot spots to the extra special touches including bottle of wine to help us celebrate. Our memories of our stay in Adelaide were greatly enhanced due to Jax and the Stamford Hotel. Thank you!

Loved our four day stay at Ibis Adelaide. Fabulous location, close to Rundle Mall, Galleries, Arts precinct and everything Adelaide has to offer. Friendly service. Spotlessly clean. Parked our car for four days but only charged as we exited only on Day 4 at a cost of $24. Charges during stay are per exit so local public transport was all we needed. Would stay here again.

We stayed here last night as we were going to The 10cc concert. Arrival was swift and easy and the room was already available. Our room was a junior suite facing North Terrace, it was clean and quiet. We enjoyed 2 complimentary drinks from the bar. They have refurbished the hotel but I think the bar looks a touch bland and not welcoming. I would have thought that there would have been sanitiser available on all levels by the lifts and in the room also. The shampoo, soap etc no longer comes as individual packs but huge bottles and being still in Covid times I thought this a bit off putting. Breakfast was ok nothing special and luckily we had ours included or it would have cost us $42.00 per person and it was not worth that much. The pre-made pancakes were freezing cold. There was a good range of cereals and the fruit plates were nice but had defrosted and tinned fruit also. I found all the supposedly hot foods not hot but cool venturing on cold and they need to do something about the baked beans as they were nasty. We had a slight hiccup on leaving as we were almost charged for two glasses of red wine which we quickly told the receptionist we never had. She amended that quickly so all good.

Stayed here for four nights in a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment. Apartments are reasonably well appointed and have ceiling to floor length windows that afford good views of the surrounding area of the city. Each of the bedrooms was a reasonable size and had a king sized bed (two singles pushed together -reasonably comfortable) with a bedside table and reading lamp on either side. There was a large wardrobe in both bedrooms as well as a chair. There was a flat screen TV on the wall in one of the bedrooms. In the combined dining/lounge and kitchen area there was a round dining table with four chairs, a two seater lounge (with a low back which was quite uncomfortable), a single lounge chair, a coffee table, two low returns - one with a stereo and the other with a flat screen TV, a separate desk and chair and a stand alone lamp. The kitchen had a full sized fridge, microwave, cooktop, oven, dish washer, kettle, toaster, tea and coffee making facilities plus a basic arrange of plates, crockery, glasses and eating utensils for at least four people. There was also some cooking implements. The bathroom had the shower in the bath (pressure was good) as well as a washing machine and dryer. There was an initial supply of washing up, dish washer and washing machine liquid. WIFI was included and worked well. There was also a safe as well as a clothes airer available (the latter from reception). There was a small round able with chairs on the balcony. Room and bathroom were very clean on arrival. Room was serviced daily except on Sunday though there was room for improvement in the daily clean. Staff on reception at check in and check out were excellent and there was no difficulty in storing our bags. Location is excellent. In less than 10 minutes walk you could visit the Central Markets or Rundle Mall. There are also a good number of cafes and restaurants in close proximity.

Great service. Amazing location, next to Victoria Square. Staffs are extremely helpful. Recommend to everyone who wants to have a quality holiday in Adelaide.

Decided to try he Arkaba Hotel bistro twice during my stay in Adelaide. I'm glad I did. Whilst this is a huge complex that has the bistro, pokies, sports bar and accomodation, it is a family friendly place that is well patronised. When I was there on a Friday and Sunday night, the dining room was bustling, with diners having a meal before theatre/comedy shows and birthday celebrations, in addition to the usual casual dining. On Friday night, I tried the sourdough garlic bread with cheese, which had some nice density to it, grilled to perfection with stretchy cheese. Then I had the beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was crunchy and I really liked the mushroom sauce - lots of mushrooms in a possible cream of mushroom soup base. Lots of crispy chips were on the plate too. When I went back on the Sunday, I had the Yoder smoked scotch fillet, once again with mushroom sauce. I didn't need the sauce, as the steak had a lovely Smokey flavour that stood on its own. I ordered mine medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and the dressing was not too heavy. The chips were crispy once again, but the only downside were the two onion rings, which could have done with a bit longer in the fryer. Meals are ordered and paid for at the register, with drinks purchased separately at the bar. Multiple televisions screens showing sport and select commercial stations are also present in the bistro. All in all, next time I visit Adelaide, I will be heading back to Arkaba Hotel for a meal.

Really clean and modern apartment with two good size bedrooms. The kitchen has an oven, dishwasher and all the electrical and cutlery you need. Perfect for families who may not always want to eat out all the time. Friendly staff. Woolworths is a 5-10 mins walk away. There is also Jenny’s bakery 15 mins walk along Glen Osmond Road towards the city who serves a great coffee and amazing pastries baked onsite! It’s only a 5-10 mins drive into Adelaide. Only feedback I have is the Block C 102 ground floor apartment we were appointed to could get very noisy with all the door slamming of people going in and out of the building. It can be really loud when you are sleeping since the apartment is right next to the foyer doors. Will consider staying again when we next visit Adelaide.

The Grand is without a doubt all about the location! Given it’s ocean front position it should offer an absolute premium experience but instead falls a little short as it continues to date without much sign of refurbishment. The rooms are basic, the carpets old, the furnishings aging and everything just feels in need of some love. Bathrooms still have showers over the bath with shower curtains and the air con in the room wasn’t very effective (too hot despite being on the coolest setting). There was also a wedding being hosted during my 1 night stay and despite my room being on the 5th floor (ballroom is on level 1), I could hear the band/music until the end of the reception at 11:30pm. On the positive (besides premium location), the staff at reception / concierge were excellent. They greeted with absolute care on arrival and happiness during check out, despite being early in the morning. It felt like they enjoyed what they did and that’s so good to see in customer facing roles. Worth considering this hotel for a stay, just as long as you’re happy with basic ammenities in a great location.
