The room was smaller than described, but location was superb, very close to the municipal centre where people line up to get next day ticket to Machu Picchu.
Even it’s so close to the square & the bar street, it’s very quiet at night.
Receptionist was friendly & breakfast was nice too.

I am very grateful that someone came to pick me up at the station, otherwise I might not be able to find it if I walked by myself. You wouldn’t even know you’ve arrived when you get downstairs because there is only one steep staircase on the first floor that one person can climb. The room is not big and the window faces the corridor. When paying, I had to pay in cash because the credit card network was too slow. The room rate listed by Ctrip was $54, but the exchange rate when paying in cash was very inappropriate. I was required to pay 206 soles, which was more than 20 yuan higher than the price listed by Ctrip, which was 5% more expensive. When I lifted the quilt at night, I found that the sheets should not have been changed, and there was actually hair on them. When we were here, we didn't see other staff members, only one person. The breakfast the next day was also simple, not a buffet. He prepared a portion meal, a glass of juice and a kettle of tea, two pieces of bread and eggs. There was a coffee machine in the store and I asked if they had any coffee, and he said that coffee was not included with breakfast. Oh my god! The bedding was unhygienic and the room was lousy, but the lack of coffee for breakfast was really unacceptable. When I checked out of the hotel after my tour at noon and picked up my stored luggage, he gave me two small pendants and asked me to give him a good review. I guess this is how this store got its 4.7 rating. It's such a rip-off. It's called a deluxe king room, but the interior is extremely shabby and the washbasin is even smaller than the face. Every time I turn on the faucet, I get soaked. Reflect truthfully and don't be fooled by the 4.7 rating. Ctrip also needs to change its rating system, otherwise the credibility of Ctrip will decrease. By the way, it is difficult to communicate in English in this store.

Todo perfecto ! Me encantó el servicio del dueño del hotel me ayudó bastante en todo Super amable la verdad se portó conmigo. El desayuno estaba muy rico también y la cama muy cómoda. Excelente precio calidad
Only a five minutes walk from the train station and 200mts from the busstop to Machu Picchu, this hotel is extremely well located! We had a nice, spacious room with a proper hot shower. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Because we were going to MP early, he gave us each an generous breakfast package. Highly recommended!

A fantastic stay, right in the centre of everything in town. The hotel manager went above and beyond to help us get Machupicchu tickets and let us store our bags when we went. Overall, I would recommend if you are staying for a short period to see Machupicchu.

There is a lot of choice in Aguas Calientes and I chose the Amakonkay Machu Picchu based on the location in Aguas Calientes and the price compared to other accommodation and it was a great little place to stay for three nights. The location is perfect with shops and restaurants nearby, the bus stop to Machu Picchu at the end of the alleyway and the main square just around the corner. It is a short walk from the train station and the hotel folks are waiting for you with your name on a board. A clean and comfortable room and I had some of the best nights sleep at the hotel while touring Peru. The breakfast was large and tasty with half a huge avocado, ham, cheese, scrambled egg, breads, juice, etc. and while in Peru the breakfasts here were some of the best. The staff were really friendly and helpful and given the location, price , rooms and breakfast this makes for a good base in Aguas Calientes.

The location is perfect, extremely close to the bus stop for Machu Picchu and also close to the train station. The staff was very nice and helpful, they stored our bags while we went to visit the ruins and let us use the bathroom afterwards. The building is a bit messy, but that happens in most places in this town. The beds were good, it was quiet enough and their breakfast was a very happy surprise, much better than expected!

the location of this hotel is unbeatable, practical because you are one step away from the center of Machupicchu Plaza and the bus station, you have the opportunity to visit the plaza at night, the room is comfortable and very clean, compared to other places we visited, the staff will always be willing to help you, delicious breakfast and at a good price.

The location of the hotel is incredible, it is close to everything, and even to the Plaza de Armas, the staff is very dedicated and concerned, always aware of everything, and I appreciate the work done because it is a great help, breakfast is quite good, wifi to perfection , they allowed us to store our things and rest in reception a point in favor, we had an excellent guide to recommendation, in terms of quality and price I will assume that it is quite good for the great service provided, if I had another opportunity without thinking I will return
