📍 Tole Bi street 286\8, Almaty

"The place was kept clean even though there were many people during my stay. They also have a washing machine and dryer if you need to wash and dry your clothes. The guy at the reception was very helpful. There is an ATM and a small mini mart close to the accommodation and a fruit shop just at the entrance. Across it is Sayran reservoir where you can walk or just relax."

📍 Zhambyl 175, Almaty

"The apartment is very cozy and clean, looking exactly like the photos. The appliances and furniture are new. There's air conditioning and it works! It would have been difficult without it. The hostess, Svetlana, was very responsive and helped with the paperwork, for which we're very grateful. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it!"

Alladin Capsule Hotel (Opened 2026)

Alladin Capsule Hotel (Opened 2026) ★★★

📍 Dosmukhamedov St 101, Almaty

"Most of the front desk staff can speak English. The shower and changing room curtains were a bit small, and sometimes I made eye contact with people using the sink while I was naked. I wish the curtains were just a bit larger. The changing room floor getting wet might be unavoidable. The water temperature and pressure were fine, and the toilet was clean."

Hostel O2

Hostel O2 ★★

📍 Tole Bi Street 273, Almaty

"The environment was incredibly noisy. Even with the door closed in my private room, the soundproofing was practically nonexistent. I barely slept for two nights, what more can I say? The cleanliness was okay, nothing special."

Ali Boutique Guesthouse ★★★

📍 Rayymbek Avenue, 348/1, Building 7, 34# 5th floor, Room 27, Almaty

"We came to Almaty for Till Lindemann's concert at the Almaty Arena. We were looking for a hotel close to the arena (or at least closer to the area). We chose Ali, which more or less suited our needs. We arrived at the venue and thought it would be a hotel, but it turned out to be an apartment-hotel in a residential complex. There was no free entrance, only a key card (we encountered people who let us in). After that, we figured it out, entered the building, and went up to the floor. There was no reception. We called the hotel number provided and were told that someone would be with us shortly. We were met by a sweet little boy (we understood he was helping his dad): he checked us in, helped us with everything, explained everything, and left. The room was nice, just like the photo: beautifully renovated, the heating worked (it was warm), Wi-Fi, three wide single beds, a TV, a wardrobe with slippers, bedside tables, a bathroom with a shower and bath accessories (a sewing kit would have been wonderful). There's a washing machine in the common hallway for washing clothes, as well as an electric kettle. A microwave would have been welcome, though. Overall, we liked everything: it was quiet and peaceful to sleep. But there were a few unusual details: the mattress was very thin and hard, like wood, making it uncomfortable to sleep on; we're used to completely different mattresses. Also, the TV was entirely in Chinese. We couldn't even reconfigure it to English, let alone Russian. We called the owner, who said the TV was only in Chinese and he didn't know how to reconfigure it. He said, "Don't touch it, it's broken." It was a bit boring without TV... Oh well... Overall, I liked everything. No one bothered me or disturbed me. 😊 👍"

Almaty Hotel Hotels in Almaty

Almaty Hotel

Almaty is located in the heart of Almaty. The Abay Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre is very close by, and Zenkov Cathedral is a 10-minute walk away. This hotel boasts a fantastic location: the State Museum of Kazakhstan is 2.8 km away, and Almaty Zoo is 3.4 km away.

"We stayed in two double rooms at the hotel, and overall, our impression was mixed. The location is quite convenient: the airport is a 25-minute taxi ride away, and there's a park, a zoo, and a cable car to Koktebel nearby. Plus, there are many cafes just a block from the hotel. The hotel itself is new and clean, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable, featuring a sofa, a coffee table, and air conditioning. Each room has everything you need except a refrigerator – there's a water cooler, a couple of tea bags, 3-in-1 coffee, shampoo, shower gel, and a dental kit. The small, enclosed courtyard with a glass table and chairs adds a nice touch of coziness. However, the service was a significant letdown. Rooms aren't cleaned while guests are staying, and breakfast was a real disappointment. The selection was meager, and often there wasn't enough food for all guests. On the first day, there were only a few spoonfuls of porridge, two boiled eggs, a small amount of cheese, and some sliced vegetables – not even bread or butter. We had to ask the reception to cut more cheese and bread. Given that there were four of us, the lack of food was particularly noticeable. The situation repeated on the second day: there was only enough porridge for three out of four of us, and those who came after us got nothing. For drinks, only tea was available; there were no pastries, yogurts, or coffee. Another major drawback was the noise in the courtyard in the evenings. Staff's children were constantly running, playing, and riding bikes there, making it impossible to sit quietly at a table, work, or talk on the phone. It seems like the hotel is a family business, and the relaxation area has essentially turned into a playground. In conclusion, the hotel is a viable option for accommodation, but it's best to book without breakfast. The owners should seriously consider improving their service and guest comfort."

"Although it's a bit far from the center of Almaty, there are restaurants and supermarkets nearby, so you won't have trouble finding food. Baikonur Station is about a 20-minute walk away. Be aware that the amenities only include shampoo, a bath towel, a dental kit, and slippers – there's no body soap, for instance. My room didn't have air conditioning, and there were no curtains on the windows, which might be a privacy concern for some. However, this room did have a refrigerator and a bathtub, allowing for a relaxing stay."

"Chinese tourists should definitely check it out! The price is great, and it's fully equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and washing machine. It's incredibly clean, and I had a very comfortable two-day stay! It's a newly opened guesthouse, and the owner is a very nice local. You can get a membership card at the nearby Maxima shopping mall for only 1800 tenge, and the supermarket prices there are extremely cheap! Don't be afraid to go just because there are no reviews; I personally experienced how great the room was! Below are pictures of the entrance downstairs. Just go up to the second floor."

"The location is okay, suitable for those arriving in Almaty by bus. However, the room has no air conditioning, which makes it absolutely unsuitable for summer. It was so hot and stuffy that I couldn't sleep all night. The service attitude was also terrible; the staff looked as if I owed them money, very aggressive. I'm here to stay at a hotel, not to put up with their bad moods. I've stayed in hostels all along this trip and have never encountered such poor service."

Grand Sky Hotel ★★★
"We stayed for one night, well... okay for a sleepover. Our room was on the third floor, and climbing the steep stairs was uncomfortable for the kids, and for me too. The most disappointing thing was that there was no water in the room. 🤦♂️ I've stayed at over 100 hotels in many countries, from cheap to expensive, but this is the first time I've seen water not provided. My wife saw used contraceptives somewhere near the bed... well, it's so-so... I'd say it's not worth the money. But! The fair-haired guy at the reception was helpful, and he explained everything."
