"It turned out that the reservation was one berth and two meals and there was a free train station pick-up. After checking in, I found that there was afternoon tea with boiled wild vegetables and buffet instant noodles and tea eggs. The food was very rich and healthy. The dinner buffet had Haagen-Dazs ice cream and beer and other drinks. Snacks and drinks in the room are also free. The Butterfly Valley has the main trail, the roundabout trail and the roundabout trail. It takes about three hours to walk all of them. Most of them are not difficult to walk. The last 250 meters of the roundabout need to be cut down to the valley. It will be better to have a trekking pole."

It is suitable for backpackers who love freedom or three or five friends to travel, spend time in worthy places and enjoy a free and playful life.
"Great experiance at The moment by lakeshore! The kids were thrilled by the bunk beds with curtains and privet hangers and lights 😅 It's a complex of buildings by lakeshore, we had a room with amazing mountains and gardens view. The auto check in station was simple to understand and operate, and suitable for us, since we arrived quite late. The room design is very cool, everything worked, good water pressure. The shower is separated from the toilet, so it's comfy for friends staying together. For us as a family it didn't matter. Everything in the minibar was included in the room price, and I tried the cold brew teas, they were excellent! The breakfast was served in the hotel building next to our hotel, from the same owner. Great buffet, large variety and even marked for allergies! The hotel has a parking area close by, and it's about 10 minutes drive to Taroko visitors center. All in all, I recommend this hotel for short stays, if you are with 3 or 4 kids take the bunk beds room for 6, we really enjoyed it."

"Nice hotel and very close to Xincheng train station where there is also a regular free bus to Hualien and Taroko (around once an hour until mid afternoon). There's also a paid bus that goes more regularly to the Taroko visitor centre. Whilst it's close the the station, there's nothing much else here. It's 1km walk to the closest 7-11 or Familymart and even further to a restaurant in the old street. There is a restaurant in the hotel and the food was nice, but it closes at 7:30."

It is basically a mansion sitting in an exclusive neighbourhood. The location is excellent! It sits on high ground overlooking the city and you can view the sunrise from the balcony early in the morning. At night you can sit outside the garden and watch the city lights while sipping on a cold beer. The best thing about the place is the owner. He was very hospitable and drove us into town and back! In the morning we had a 5 course breakfast before setting off.

Received email from hotel staff (Juan) that they could arrange pick-up service for us if we are arriving via Hualien Train Station. They provide free transfer back to Hualien train station as well after check-out. Grateful for the shuttle service otherwise I would need to take a taxi. By going the extra mile, they offered to send my mom and myself to the bus stop nearby for going to xincheng old street. Every staff member is friendly and very helpful. Seaview room is excellent and we enjoyed the sound of the waves from our bed! Room is clean and brightly illuminated. Breakfast variety is good. They have bicycle for hotel guests too! There’s a convenience store (Family Mart) nearby, few restaurants too, but closed on Tuesday mostly. Overall I had a great stay and will definitely return if I come to Hualien again.

Best best best hotel we have ever stayed in. Services provided was excellent. All staff were very genuinely. It really felt like a 5 star hotel. We stayed in another 5 star hotel in Jiaoxi which is No. 1 in Jiaoxi but the service cannot be matched. Well done to all the staff. Room was always clean. Thank you to the staff who cleaned our spectacle. It was a nice gesture. Different snacks were topped up everyday. The face mask provided was so good! Surrounding of the hotel was very nice. We had the gorge view and OMG! We don't mind waking up to this view everyday. We hope they will contruct a stairs for guest to go down to the gorge. It is a waste to just see it from the top. Breakfast was good. We could see that they have made an effort to label which is vegetarian and which is not. It's very thoughtful of the restaurant. However, we had a seafood porridge and thought it was purely seafood but notice there was chicken in it but not written. Maybe they can improve in this. Kids are very well entertained in this hotel. They have a huge play room for them. Indoor pool with heated pool is enough to keep the kids occupied for 2hours at least. They also have daily activities and some are free. Thank you Silk Place for the wonderful stay. We will be back.

The room with a balcony and ocean view was absolutely stunning. I regret not arriving earlier to relax more. It's conveniently located within walking distance of Hualien's night market and the beach, making sightseeing easy. Bicycles are also available for rent. Breakfast consists of sandwiches and drinks, which were delicious. Although we checked in at the last minute, the staff were very helpful and kept us informed throughout the process. (I feel really bad for the staff...) For access, you can take a bus or taxi from the station, but depending on the route, buses can be unreliable, so a taxi is recommended. We arrived from another tourist spot, and the bus didn't come, and we couldn't get on the minibus, which was incredibly stressful! In Taiwan, you can call a taxi from a convenience store...how convenient! Definitely try it. Anyway, the rooms are so stylish, I highly recommend everyone visit!! This was the best hotel of our trip to Taiwan :) I want to go again...

What they do well: 1. The hotel service is excellent; there's an usher as soon as you enter the lobby. 2. The public areas are clean and well-maintained. Areas for improvement: 1. Soundproofing: I could hear snoring from the adjacent room. 2. Tip prompt card on the bedside table: The staff didn't do anything beyond their standard duties, so why should I be prompted to tip proactively? 3. The sauna facilities are dirty and old. The shower area, with six spots, felt full with just three people.

Overall a good experience (except one thing - see in the bottom). The location is somewhat central and on the walking promenade, but not very close to the railway station or the waterfront. About 25-35 min walk to the railway station but still okay. About 15 min to the waterfront. Food options: there are a couple of local restaurants right near across from the promenade, including a noodle shop, a tempura donburi and a fried seafood place - all along the promenade. There's also a PX Mart not too far away, about 5 min walk. The rooms are spacious and clean, very new renovation (as of 2025, seems like 2023-2024), no fridge in the room (on the first floor only), but there's a kettle. The bed was somewhat stiff but okay. Overall felt like great value for the location and the quality, and especially the room size. The only drawback - Easy to fix - was the towels. There was no proper size bathroom towels on my stay in May 2025. The small towels are rather insuficcient for showering.

The location is convenient and close to the city. The exterior is beautiful and the garden makes people feel relaxed. However, the parking lot is too far from the hotel building. The beds are comfortable and the TV equipment is new.

The price is okay and the location is great. There are many restaurants and supermarkets right next door. The night market is also within a 5-10 minute walk. However, there's no cleaning service, as no one came to clean or change the towels during our six-night stay. Perhaps we should have asked about it. The theme is fun, but the rooms are very dark and you don't really feel comfortable. On the plus side, the staff is reachable via WhatsApp if there's a problem and takes care of it quickly.
