Meci Hotel

I stayed here for a few days and can only recommend it! The train and bus stations are just a few steps away, and the city center is within walking distance. The room was spacious and comfortable, with many thoughtful touches such as free coffee, snacks, and even ice cream!

Convenient location with friendly staffs. Free snacks and rinks at lobby make the stay more enjoyable.

The location is excellent, just opposite the train station. We stay there for three nights. Throughout our stay there is a strong smell of toilet which I suspected it’s from the drain AA was raining on my first day of visit. However thr smell remain on 2nd and 3rd night even though there is no more rain. On the 3rd day I decided to inform the hotel as I would like to eat in my room (I can even smell it even the toilet door is closed), the front desk given me a air freshener which helps to some extend. However, I found some small black dot on my bedsheet (the hotel just changed the bedsheet after 2day stay). I ignore that as it is not stain or obvious unclean bedsheet. But it was super itchy when I sleep at night. The next day morning my partner and wake up with bumps all over all body especially limbs. The front desk appeared annoyed when see me early in the morning AA if I am here to complain again, as he frown his eyebrow when we approached. I show him our bumps and he explain it could be due to the detergent. After check out we went to see the doctor in a clinic, the doctor said this is due to a kind of mosquitoes called forcipomyia Taiwana, which is popular in hualian especially during rainy season. Which means it might be due to hotel cleanliness but we were bitten outside. However I felt that the response could be better e.g. to show some concern or propose some solution rather than just tell us the possible cause. Overall it is not very pleasant stay.

Excellent location. It takes 15-20 minutes to walk from the Hualien Train Station but it is close to several restaurants and bus stations. The hotel is so clean and provides water filling machine. However, there is only one check-in counter which is super busy if you are hurry to leave and catch the train.

Worst check in process, such a bad room where AC didn't work. Was told they will give a fan instead of changing the room. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
