Tucked away in a quaint village far from the maddening crowds in Canggu et al, this is a retreat to recharge and get away from it all. The property is architecturally interesting and the room is unusually vertical, designed as a treehouse, with a bathtub and open air relaxing area at the top. The infinity pool is surprisingly deep, and there is a natural cascading waterfall right in front of it.
Absolutely hidden gem of a place.
Inspired by a traditional village Amandari is framed by jungle and rice terraces in Balis cultural heartland. Alang-alang-thatched houses some with pools - all with private tropical gardens - cosset guests under bamboo ceilings their suites elegantly decorated with teak and coconut-wood. The grounds are both sacred and essential to local families; children attend dance classes here and religious processions pass through regularly leading down the steps that spill below Amandari to a 7th-century stone tiger - a motif repeated throughout the property. Follow the road out of the village to hike or bike the emerald-green landscape or head further afield for artisan villages - hidden temples and the palaces and boutiques of Ubud.
Overlooking a tranquil lily pond the Spas offerings range from massages and manicures to traditional Balinese treatments.
Both Indonesian and Western dishes are specialities at the open-air Restaurant or dine intimately in the rainforest with a private chef.
Set amid aromatic frangipani trees and the enveloping warmth of a Balinese village Amandari is perfectly suited to special occasions of all kinds.

Visited Amandari in March 2024 with my husband and had the most splendid stay. The hotel and the rooms are absolutely stunning and I love the small touches throughout the room and property. The food was great and each meal was better than the last. I absolutely loved the signature Aman cocktails they had to offer. Love the shuttle service from the hotel to the Ubud market, makes it really convenient to step out. The location of the property is really stunning with the view of the valley and convenience to Ubud market, other sightseeing spots. We took the tours to Bali bird and reptile park, some temples and waterfalls, etc. through Aman and were extremely happy with the guides. Mega who was our guide was so sweet and informative and really went out of the way to ensure we had an amazing experience. Also definitely recommend the spa, one of the best massages I have had. Siwi was my therapist and was amazing! Michel (GM) is so delightful to meet and always a pleasure to talk to! All the staff were so sweet and helpful and would go above and beyond to ensure our needs are met, including at the reception when it came to organising our tours or the restaurants to cater to our food requirements. Will most definitely be back!

GGuest User2022.11.14
I have stayed here before in the past and booked 8 days. Was looking forwards to staying here again but it was not the same. Still beautiful villas and rooms and beautiful gardens and pool but everything else was a complete failure. First they no longer do a shuttle run into Ubud centre. My room was not available for my first night. So put in an alternative one which I was happy with. Just not happy that because I was going to be moved the next day I really couldn't unpack and settle in. They could have asked me if I wanted to stay in that room as it didn't get anyone else in for the next 7 days. In your room you no longer get the supply of tea, coffee and sugar but you get the cups and kettle. I had to plug mine in in the bathroom as there was no socket near the tray on the cupboard. So I also washed my cup in the bathroom and one day left my teaspoon in there next to my toothbrush. When I came home after an outing the receptionist pulled me up about housekeeping said a teaspoon was missing!!! Really awkward and not appropriate. Then one morning I wanted to have a nice early bath in the beautiful bathtub, but the plug would not stay down and keep the water in. So that didn't happen until later in the day. Also the bathroom towels had seen better days. At the start of my stay I ordered dinner from the restaurant. That was a big failure. The cordeon Blue was rough and dry with no self saucing, only a little bowl of tartare sauce which is normal for a fish meal but not chicken and the chips were the frozen type and uneatable. So I didn't eat here for the rest of my stay. The street outside has become very popular since the pandemic with several new really good restaurants, cafes and lovely spas.

I always love staying at Komaneka Rasa Sayang when in Ubud and have stayed there many times on my own, with friends and with family. My last visit was with my brother who joined me from Cape Town. He absolutely loved it. The service is exceptional and I always feel very spoilt by the amazing staff and it does feel like it is my second home in Bali. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Ubud. From the moment I arrive, I am always welcomed back like family. The rooms are so beautiful and spacious with gorgeous bathrooms and balconies with daybeds overlooking lush greenery. A jar of home made cookies and fruit basket is a lovely touch. The hotel is set back from the main road but it is so peaceful and only steps away from the centre of Ubud with lots of great shops and restaurants and the monkey forest. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing surrounded by palm trees, nature and the sound of running water from the river below. The staff are so attentive at the pool and it is a great spot to enjoy the daily complimentary afternoon tea. The breakfast is delicious and has lots of variety. The restaurant setting is beautiful overlooking the pool. If something is not on the breakfast menu, just ask and the staff will go out of their way to make it for you if possible. I wish to compliment Ari at reception for her exceptional and always polite and friendly service. I did miss seeing Ibu Desak and Sitiari this time. Can’t wait to be back there again

Alaya resort staff truly went above and beyond to make my wife’s birthday celebration special. They helped arrange a lovely surprise with flower petal decorations, a delicious birthday cake, and a beautiful rose bouquet (available at an extra cost).
The resort's location is also excellent, situated right beside fantastic cafes like Pison, where we enjoyed a discount of 10%!
Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and it comes with impeccable housekeeping service twice a day. Every detail was taken care of, making our two nights stay truly relaxing and enjoyable.
Overall, I highly recommend Alaya Resort for its exceptional service and fantastic location.

GGuest User2023.06.14
It’s not a bad hotel. To summarize I’ll write pros and cons-
Pros- service, quiet area, amazing staff, very helpful. Specially Dewi, Arira or similar best staff ever. This hotel people only come for the service but everything else is just below average.
It takes a lot for me to write a negative review. But this experience made me do so.
Cons- Wi-Fi doesn’t work! Even after asking the IT guy who said he’ll do something but actually didn’t do anything. As it had speed or 3mbps and kept on dropping.
- Buffet breakfast - very average, the staff tries hard to please you. But the food is very very average. I mean not even 1 proper bakery items. Balinese coffee just doesn’t cut it. I’ll give it a rating 3/10.
- Rooms are basic, pretty old, beds make squeaking noise, suites have nice view but everything looks old.
- There is no afternoon tea although there is a sign in the lobby that states there is.
- shuttle only runs twice a day 11am and 4pm. This hotel is about 8kms away from Ubud main shops. And the shops around the hotels aren’t many.
- Spa at hotel - OMG don’t even try it! I had booked and got this oldish lady “Ayu”. Who basically was just touching my body and not even putting any effort. I literally had to leave the massage after telling her about 10 times to put more pressure. And then she tried to charge me for the whole hour which I disputed and then she said ok I’ll charge you for 30mins. I asked her if she has another staff which I did see when I started the massage. And she says no we don’t have anyone. Worst massage ever!!!
- You must rent a bike to enjoy if you do decide to stay in this hotel.
- Food and beverages are expensive compared to shops around the place but the service is amazing. For example an Ice coffee is $5.50AUD which is what I get in Australia. And veggie Pizza is around $10.
Bring your wall plug converter if you are staying at this place. Villas were amazing as due to great staff I got to see inside them. Suites- are just standard bedrooms with balconies.
Rooms have jet pumps to wash ur bottom, has hair dryers, small empty bar fridge. House keeping staff are amazing. The shuttle to Ubud shops you must book them before hand.
There is a river that runs but you won’t be able to see it as the small trees that grew around it has blocked all the view. Pool is small but nice, there are towels and hot shower options.
- TV only has channels which aren’t in English and the network is so bad that you can’t even watch it. Very old TV’s in suites.
- you can rent small scooters for about 100k IDR from hotel.

From start to finish, this hotel was amazing, we spent 6 days here in Ubud and did lots of activities. Every single member of staff is a credit to this hotel. So helpful and nothing was to much trouble, communication was brilliant at all times, especially waiter ADI. Made our stay that extra special. Always went out his way to make our day. Telling us of great places to go and visit. The rooms are fabulous and always clean. Restaurant was great. Food exceptional. Loved the Easter night special. About 15 mins away from ubud town we called it ( market etc ) but free shuttle service was brilliant. We have been all over the world., and this is up there with the best of them. Highly recommend

We have recently returned from Bali and started our trip at the Pari Sudha in Ubud. When we arrived it was late and very dark and to be honest, upon arrival we were a little concerned about what to expect as found ourselves in a very local area which looked very run down. Once we walked down the small alleyways to get to the hotel, we were so happy to see such a beautiful place. It was an experience for all of us, my 16 and 14 year old are used to hotels of a different nature and this was such lovely change. The rooms were clean and well looked after. Waking up in the morning to the jungle in front of you and all the colours and sounds was truly lovely. The staff are so very kind and helpful and go out of their way to assist in anyway possible. Breakfast was fab! If you are looking for a small hotel with a difference, away from it all in tranquillity then this is definitely worth considering. Highly recommend. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay magical.

How can I say about the hotel? Compared with the price of 200 euros, I will say a few fair words: 1/ The hotel is relatively new, the room has a balcony, the room is not big, and the decoration is not bad.
2/ You can see the sea from a distance on the balcony, but it is not a first-line sea view. I booked a sea view king room for RMB 1,600
3/ The rooftop swimming pool is good, you can watch the sunset
4/ There is a lively neighborhood outside, there are many white people, and there are lively bars
restaurants.
5/ The staff is very friendly
Disadvantages
1/ It is said to be a sea view, but the first thing you see when standing on the balcony is a ruined land covered with weeds, and you can also see the unfinished building when you face the sea.
2/ The toiletries in the hotel are very simple, and the slippers are very thin
3/ There is no bathrobe, no bathtub, only one USB port and one type C charging port, and no mini bar
4/ 1,600 does not include breakfast, the breakfast list costs about RMB 120, and you can order dishes for dinner, which is semi-self-service.
It feels that the cost performance is not high.

GGuest UserReally good experience in my 3days trip.
I propose to my girlfriend in the Jimbaran Garden.
It's is a beautiful experience.
Thanks Noor for helping aligning for the whloe team
Suta and Surya help me a lot for provding the surprise to my girlfriend.
They help prepare the decoration, help hiding the flower and help filming our wonderful moments.
I got a really great experience in this trip:)
GGuest UserThis hotel is on a secluded part of the south coast of Bali, a short distance from Kuta. Our pool suite was vast, with the bathroom being open to the pool. Service is immaculate and the food is of a very high standard. The quality of the drinks, not so much, although when they opened their new Beach Club this should be rectified, according to staff. There are great deals to be had here. They have 24 hour security and airport pick up service. Staying for a few days could get your free breakfasts (that are very good) and other gifts. Highly recommended.
GGuest UserI have a lot to say. On the surface, Maya Sanur is really beautiful and appears to be in a good location, staff are attentive and kind - as long as nothing goes wrong you're fine. After staying a few days we inevitably ran into a few issues. This certainly has nothing to do with the hotel but it's important to consider. Sanur is in a part of Bali that is less touristy albeit still touristy and draws enough crowds that you'd think the beach was really inviting when in fact it isn't. Sanur beach is gravely and pretty unswimmable, lots of algae and low tides make it almost impossible to enjoy unless you wake up super early or swim later in the evening. The crowd that Maya Sanur attracts are mostly older, white foreigners and not the friendly ones. I'm white but even I was like, ”What am I doing here?” If you like being around unfriendly, snooty folks, this is your spot. The staff were mostly accommodating and incredibly kind until one morning I requested an umbrella be opened on the beach for sitting in the sun. I was told, and I kid you not, ”NO, we don't put those up.” I asked why they were on the beach if people don't use them. I was answered with, ”There is a breeze so we don't open them.” I then asked, ”When do you use them?” to which the staff member replied, ”In the morning.” This whole conversation was nothing short of ridiculous, given the price you pay to stay here and the fact that every other resort on the beach has their umbrellas open is absolutely laughable that this man gave me such a dumb answer. I decided once we were back in the room that I should share this concern with the front desk. They apologized profusely and when I was on the beach later that evening, an umbrella was up. So silly. Another sort of annoying issue, I booked an extra night, I asked the front desk first and they gave me an inflated rate, they encouraged me to let them know if I booked a room online, which I did, on their site for cheaper. I let the front desk know and they said ok. Sadly, my flight couldn't be altered and we never ended up staying but when I called to let the front desk know our plans fell through, they offered me zero refund and said, maybe you can come back in 6 months to stay with us again. I felt a bit disappointed in this given that I wanted to book directly with the front desk, maybe even getting a better rate, considering I'd already spent a ton of money with them the first 4 days we stayed. When plans fell through, I notified the hotel immediately, less than 24 hours after my new booking and they were unwilling to offer a refund for a room I would never even stay in. I guess what I learned is, Maya Sanur is pretty but business and money far outweigh service and true hospitality. With so many other resorts to choose from, I wouldn't come back based on these interactions. This is not a low budget hotel so you expect a certain type of customer service. It is clear that Maya Sanur wants to keep attracting the crowd they have so I will look elsewhere next time. It's just sad that small gestures could have gone a long way to leave a better impression and a more satisfying stay.
GGuest UserThis was one of the best places we stayed at in Bali.
It is well structured, designed and maintained. The food was good with many options. The location is perfect with very nice pools and pool slide. They also have Camels and can provide you with a riding experience on the beach.
GGuest UserVery disappointed stay! Stayed in October 2022 loved it loved everything. This stay we were not told about the breakfast not being buffet style well at least being dramatically downsized and put out the front at Papas Beach Cafe. The selections were bland and mostly asian style nothing like it was in October and that was why we rebooked! The pool deck is a accident waiting to happen very very dangerous. My daughter room key was re programmed at least 20 time is 6 days very very frustrating with 3 little boys in tow to have to go from 1 end of the property to the other to report it. On the good side the staff are amazing so friendly welcoming and 10/10 to the chef at Papa's cafe for inviting the 3 boys into the kitchen to make and prepare and serve the best Pizza's I have ever eaten. The Alam KulKul is in a great position and the staff are worth staying for but quite a bit needs to be done to make it great
GGuest UserAmazing hotel 1 the best in Kuta when it comes to the location, standards and keeping the resort clean and in perfect condition. Rare in Bali! the rooms are extremely comfortable, with full amenities and extremely well maintained. Beautiful Balinese style with high end products, similar standards with any international Hotels. Amazing pool size middle of a beautiful landscape, just hard to believe you are at the heart of Kuta. Breakfast is one of the best around Kuta too. So much choice to accommodate large nationalities, from Balinese, Indian, asia, continental, international etc… The staff is just amazing, extremely friendly and efficient. Nothing is perfect in life and things can happened! just address it to the front office and in the next 5 minutes someone will fix your issues, including technical issues you could have in your room. Ayu at the front office is a gem! what an asset to the Ramayana. She is so efficient and professional. Same with Endra at the Gabbah restaurant - what an amazing waiter! kindness and so professional with perfect English skills…. just another amazing asset to the Ramayana. The Resort manager is new and what a difference since he joined the Ramayana - he is everywhere, extremely friendly and really manage the property extremely well. My only negative comment will be the pool water temperature - too cold , the water should be heated same as any 5 starts hotel . Many guests were saying the same things…. pool water temperature should be warmer. Nevertheless it is my favorite hotel in Kuta 15 minutes away from the Airport in front of Kuta Beach….
GGuest UserWe have just completed a magical 10 days at Wyndham Jivva Beach. We are long term Wyndham members (owners) and have stayed at many of their hotels and resorts. Jivva Beach rates at the top of the list for us. It's just far North East of Denpasar to be out of the rat race but still within easy reach of Sanur and other tourist attractions. Apart from its idyllic setting, the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. A special mention to the head chef Gusti who has a wealth of experience at 5 star international hotels. His leadership ensured a high level of cuisine at every meal. And Wijaya, the food and beverage manager led a team of wait staff which would be hard to beat anywhere. There are no shops close by, but we booked half day tours using local drivers at very reasonable prices (IDR 600,000 for 5 hours), so we were able to visit many local attractions. We also took the ferry to the island of Penida across the Badung Strait ~ well worth the time to do this. We were surprised that the beach (which is very close), is made of black sand ~ not a problem for us, but maybe for some. In essence, we love Wyndham Jivva and intend to visit again in 2024.
PPutriLindaIt was my 2nd time back to this hotel. I came for the maybank marathon run event. I love the room. It is just the right size for me. The beddings and toilet are clean. I booked a room with padi field view, which was perfect as my expectations. I will SUREly come back to this hotel next time.
GGuest UserWe stayed in this guesthouse for a week. We were looking for a quiet place to sleep, far from the chaos of Ubud, the bet is held. It's really isolated, in the middle of the rice fields. The staff are lovely, very helpful and friendly. They are always there for you and if you have a question or request, they will go out of their way to answer it right away. The room is large and very clean. We asked for an upstairs room and got it. The bed is firm but comfortable. The rooms all have a terrace where you can eat, have breakfast or simply relax. The included breakfast is very simple (choice between omelet and pancakes, fruit juice, and fruit), but sufficient. You can pay extra for extras. There is no restaurant or bar in this guest house, so you will either have to go to the hotel not far away or order your food on Grab/Gojek. We opted for this second option, and it went very well, a huge choice, delivery in less than an hour if you order from a restaurant in Ubud. The staff can also take an order and your money and go 2/3 shopping for you for drinks displayed on the minibar. Every day they gave us a bottle of water each for free. The pool is nice and clean. The air conditioning is very efficient, sometimes even too much! It has to be settled. Sometimes we just ended up cutting it off. You won't be hot. Now, the negative points, because a good opinion must also mention the points to improve: Daylight which passes very easily, the curtains are not very glued to the window so from 5 am we began to have light. It's true that we Europeans are used to sleeping in the dark. In the room there was also a pipe noise, quite sharp, when people were using the water, whether it was us or neighbours. I don't know what it is, maybe a pump, pipes... I don't know if the problem is common to all rooms. Since I'm sensitive enough to noise to sleep, I opted for earplugs, problem solved. Count 3 to 5 euros one way to get around town by ordering a ride on Grab/Gojek. We had the reservation at a very good price because booked early and before the lifting of health restrictions, so we will say that we are very satisfied with our choice. I hope they will improve the two points mentioned above because those were the two things that bothered me.
RRenatadevriesIt started when checking, the booking was not in. We had read the confirmation email several times but they couldn't find it back in the system. After what happened, a manager came and he couldn't help. When we asked whether we could reserve a room through them, it was only for the double of our reserved amount. When we indicated that we found it strange all because you were withdrawing booking.com a ... percentage, they remained there that we could only get it for double. After a while they received green light (whom no idea was) and we were brought to the room, we had been upgraded but we wondered seriously what we would have been given if we had not been given it. The room itself is not clean. The bedroom is not clean and the bathroom is plenty, and there are many Chinese who are raising the whole night, and it is apparent that it is permitted to scream in the middle of the night, and the breakfast is made mainly for the Chinese. The hotel is not a Best hotel, but all staff are very friendly, but the result is not as it should be.
