GGuest UserOur experience staying at Li An Lodge is truly unforgettable. We travelled to Guilin for 5 days and stayed two nights at Celadon room at Li An Lodge. The views from this boutique hotel are absolutely breathtaking and had previously been featured in National Geographic Traveller ā beautiful rice terraces unobstructed by other buildings, mountains, the sky, the moon, the sound of crickets at night and the sound of water flowing in the fields ā you feel a deep connection with the nature in this place. There are almost no people around as it is high up the mountain and you only meet local villagers, who keep the traditional way of life, dressing in beautiful traditional clothes, working the fields and enjoying a chat or a meal among themselves. The hotel itself is a masterpiece of traditional wooden architecture, built without a single nail, original wood carvings, traditional ethnic embroideries, antique jars and other pottery decorate the halls and rooms.
The hotel manager, who introduced himself as Aaron to us, showed impeccable hospitality, paying attention to the smallest details to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Aaron is fluent in English, easygoing and very pleasant to communicate with. We had been in touch over WeChat prior to our arrival to Li An Lodge, and he helped us organise transportation form the airport to the hotel, shared very useful information about local villages, sightseeing, food worth trying, he organized homemade dinner with the freshest local veggies and chicken the first evening we were there, it was a real feast ā several delicious meals and drinks cooked there and then, for breakfast we had āWestern breakfastā ā good coffee (ground beens) , bacon and eggs, toast, local fresh fruit and we also tried the local specialty - mifen (rice noodles) which was really good. He recommended places to try other local foods and drink which left us very satisfied. The second day we were coming back from a hike in the neighbouring village and decided last minute that we wanted to stay in and have dinner at Li An Lodge instead of the restaurant where we initially planned to dine. We checked with Aaron where it was possible, since it was already after 6:30 pm, he told us he would call the chef and would start cooking. When we got there after a beautiful walk in the terrace fields, Aaron met us with beers to enjoy on the hotelās terrace. We realised the chef was not there but Aaron was making the meals himself ā turns out he is also an amazing chef! He cooked everything with the local freshest produce ā several dishes ā bamboo shoots and chicken, steamed loofah with tomatoes, pumpkin, eggplant, local rice, we are still dreaming about those freshest delicious meals. Thank you Aaron!
We ended our stay by watching two documentaries about LongJi Rice fields and Life of a Panda in the hotelās bar/film viewing room and Aaron answered our many questions about the local customs, traditions, food and crafts. It was an amazing stay, and I would recommend this hotel to those interested in cultural immersion, nature, traditional cuisine, arts and those looking to connect with the nature and escape the busy city life.

GGuest UserThe location is very good, only two minutes walk from the Feilong Wuhu Observation Deck! The room I booked on the balcony is on the second floor. There are mountains and valleys outside the window. The setting sun shines obliquely, and you can clearly see the ridges. It is still spectacular for children in the city! It is pitch black at night and very quiet. You can hear the roosters crowing at four or five in the morning! For breakfast, each person has a portion of Guilin rice noodles with sweet potatoes, corn, and eggs. It is completely full and tastes very good! I didnāt see the homemade rice wine given by the boss as mentioned by netizens, maybe because I didnāt have lunch or dinner in the store. I bought a cup of mocha, which was made by the boss himself. The latte art is really beautiful! As everyone has reported, the biggest slot is that the bathroom is too small. When we came during the National Day holiday, the temperature at night was a bit low, about 17 or 18 degrees, and the water from the shower was relatively small, so the bathing experience was not very pleasant. It feels a bit strange that the faucet water in the sink is very large, but the water from the shower will be very small. The restaurant of the homestay is on the first floor. You can sit on the balcony to eat. It feels like sitting on the edge of a cliff, which is still very good! Overall, I highly recommend Yunshang Mountain Stay! Watching the Longji Terraces at sunset from the Jiulong Wuhu Observation Deck is really stunning! It's as beautiful as a fairyland!

GGiulia ä½äæčOur experience at Baike Hotel was simply great! The hotel is very very very beautiful, clean, and furnished in the local style. The view from the terrace and from our room was amazing, and very peaceful. The food was also delicious! Plus, Jason and his wife have been extremely friendly and helpful in answering to our questions, helping us and in giving us suggestions on how to tour around the area. Upon our request, Jason also helped us arrange a transfer from the Airport in Guilin to the hotel, a transfer from PingāAn to Dazhai (to do the 15km hike back), and a transfer from the hotel to our next hotel in Yangshuo. I speak some Chinese, but a plus for those foreign tourists who do not speak any Chinese is that Jason speaks a great English, so no need to worry about language barriers at all! Overall, we 100% recommend this hotel! We had a wonderful and unforgettable experience, and should we ever come back to PingāAn, we would definitely come here again!! š¤šÆšÆšÆ

It is really good for a hotel on the top of the mountain to be able to do this. The beautiful scenery is unobstructed. It is recommended to stay here. Don't miss the balcony room, where you can see the great view from the balcony. It is beautiful. There are terraced fields at the door of the hotel, and there is an observation deck after walking up the mountain. The hotel can be driven directly to the door

GGuest UserWe stayed here for two nights and had an incredible time. The view from our room was spectacular overlooking the rice terraces, with a bathtub just next to the window. The room is very clean and wooden giving it a nice rustic feeling. The location is not the easiest to get to but the hotel organised a transport for us from Guilin airport! They also helped us find our bus for our onward journey to Yangshuo. The staff was always very helpful and friendly, they were really great. The food was some of our favourite of our entire stay in china. Highly recommend the beef with potatoes and mixed veggies!

XXiangxiangbaobeiFacilities: The B&B opened in 2021 and has been maintained in good condition so far. It is a modern wooden stilt building. The reserved family room has one large bed ā one small bed, and a tent for children āŗ, although it was not used this time
Hygiene: The sanitary environment is quite good, and the boss turned on the air conditioner before checking in.
Environment: You can see the terraced fields from outside. However, it was a pity that I didnāt see the terraced fields during the day because of the fog. I saw it the night before and it felt very good. It looked like cultivating immortals in the fog.
Service: I contacted the boss before I checked in, because some roads on the top of the mountain are difficult to drive, and the boss will also help. When I first arrived, I also baked sweet potatoes. I was very good at cooking. Dinner and breakfast were both good! We also got glutinous rice wine for dinner, which was delicious and sweet.

GGuest UserFirst of all, the proprietress of the hotel is very friendly and welcoming and impressed. It can be said that if there is a difficulty, I will solve the problem. I am 2 big and 2 small, and the small is only 2 years old (know everything) with a lot of luggage and a lot of population. But the proprietress tried her best to give us convenience. The layout of the accommodation environment is basically the same as the promotional pictures. The homestay is relatively clean and has no smell. If you are traveling by car, pay attention to not bring too much luggage when you go to the homestay, because there is still a short walk. The mountain road is long, pay attention to driving, the mountain road is narrow, and it is just enough to meet the car.
