"Pros: friendly and helpful staff Cons: 1. Run down, feels old. Alleys smell of urine. Stairwells full of discarded cigarette butts 2. Room: faulty air con, cannot be turned off or adjusted; partially blocked sink drainage, cups have stains, towels have stains, rusted shower head 3. Breakfast: decent spread but poor safety and hygiene standards. Birds were pecking at the bread station, flies on fried noodles. 4. F&B: very limited and over priced 5. The Japanese village: spring and stream no longer work, feels abandoned, badly need maintenance. The tatami spa has been closed for a decade but the sign still says “temporary”. 6. Primates roaming all over the place in the morning. 7. Nothing much to do"

The transportation was inconvenient; the hotel shuttle bus was expensive, and it was much better to use a ride-hailing app like Didi. The taxis outside were overcharging."
