We stayed at the White Heart while visiting friends. We had a fantastic meal which was great value for money. I especially like that they use local produce. Great selection of non alcoholic beverages behind the bar. We stayed in a really lovely suite with a very comfy bed. Nice, clean bathroom. Breakfast (which was included in the price for the room) was freshly cooked to order. Really yummy and definitely set us up for the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back to stay again.

This was our third stay at this delightful 17th century hotel in picturesque Dorchester on Thames for an annual family gathering of 14 . Comfortable, clean rooms, excellent three course evening meal and breakfast at a very reasonable price. Friendly, efficient staff also happy to take photos of us all! Highly recommended.

The hotel is very old and very charming placed at the center of a smaller town south of Oxford. Our room was in a house next to the hotel. It was comfortable and of decent size. The bathroom too. Though it was warm it was possible to get a decent temperature in the room at night without air condition. Breakfast was full English including black pudding. Freshly made and delicious. The hotel also has one of the pubs in the town. It was a bit small but very cosy and offered a good range of local beer, ale, cider and drinks. The staff is professional and accommodating

What a delightful place to stay. Fantastic friendly helpful staff and a filling breakfast with a perfect room and trouble free night’s sleep. This is a highly recommended venue for any stay within the vicinity and booking direct through the hotel website improves the rates then offered by middlemen sites. Would definitely return.

Well we were given the Abingdon suite! Lounge area with TV and coffee facilities had a large walk in wardrobe bathroom and big bedroom! Warm welcome from reception on arrival! Really relax atmosphere, everywhere was pleasant and clean. Breakfast was included in our price and the scrambled eggs with salmon was very very good! Dorchester on Thames is a beautiful village and locals are very friendly! Definetly would stay again.

It's real shame that I have to re write my original review but unfortunately I have discovered that a number of employees are not happy and aren't being treated fairly. The building is nice and the service whilst I was their was faultless but I can't condone any brewery that treats its staff the way I've heard from its catering to cleaning staff... It isn't on and marston's need to deal with this... I was under the impression that the temp mamangememt were going to sort this.. But no... As a result my own son has left and been gazumped basically despite the hours and dedication to the place and a few others will be leaving as soo as they've found alterative employment. I don't expect anyone to understand this unless they have a moral compass pointing in the right direction I'm dispointed because they did their best

Had a three night stay to revisit Oxford and surrounding area. Our third visit to this hotel. Food is excellent and the Chef went out of his way to make sure we had exactly what we wanted ! If you are on the tall side, don’t forget to DUCK ! Very old building with low beams.

Lively pub and restaurant and friendly staff. We had a really delicious early supper at 5.00pm- they are not normally open for food on Sunday evenings but they made a special arrangements as we were 10 in our group and going on to a jazz concert afterwards . The food is good, portions are generous ( loved the roast ) and very reasonable. Can thoroughly recommend it .
