The Nici

The hotel was beautiful, pool warm and staff lovely. Restaurant wasn’t up to standard but cocktails really yum.

Super modern & friendly vibe at this top hotel. The rooms are immaculate and the hotel is beautifully situated on West Cliff. There is a heated outdoor pool with poolside furniture you’d normally expect to find on the continent. The staff are mega friendly and make you feel valued as a customer. The food and drink offer is excellent and reasonably priced. This time I was in Bournemouth on business, I won’t hesitate to return here for a family trip.

Hi , just wanted to say had a delicious set lunch yesterday, for me the star was the excellent pannacotta - Thankyou for sharing recipe. I will be back when the main menu changes which we were told it shall be soon. Thanks again for a good lunch - thank fully have now found somewhere in Bournemouth worth coming to and can recommend.

This was our second time of visiting the Nici, our first was a delightful stay back at the beginning of September 23 where we were served drinks poolside and had a choice of Sunbeds and yoga available. On returning we arrived early as wanted to spend some time by the pool before our check in time of 3pm. When arriving at the pool itself was absolutely packed with not one Sunbed free and towels reserving most beds. So subsequently we had to make do with wooden chairs by the fence which wasn’t what we expected. No drinks service available poolside this time around when getting drinks at the pool bar the wait was at least ten mins, on the second time of getting a drink there was no glasses available. We talked to some fellow sunbathers and the hotel has now opened up the gym and pool to local paying gym users which has massive overcrowding. There are now different wristbands for hotel guests and gym/spa users. We much really didn’t matter as all the local gym users reserved all the bed with their towels first thing in morning so no chance of getting bed. The hotel itself is still classy with lovely decor but it is clear they have no taken a “bums on seats” approach and see more people through the door the better which I feel will be the downfall of the place. Wouldn’t recommend for a quiet couples getaway and unfortunately we won’t be returning :-(

Pawel was wonderful and we had a delicious meal at South Beach restaurant. Will 100% return with family and friends. He was knowledgeable about the full menu and catered to our special dietary requests. Hotel is beautiful and the pool spectacular.

We had a great lunch here today at the restaurant. I had the prawn sandwich and my husband had the burger both were very good! Our waitress Alix was superb, could not have been more lovely and accommodating throughout our meal. We will definitely be back :)

So….if you prefer style over substance then go. If not, give it a miss. I have visited the NICI 6 times since August 22 so feel more than qualified to review now. This is why I keep going back - hoping and wishing the staff and service will live up the expectations of a 5* hotel. The staff let this place down so much. Especially in the restaurant and it’s not the temporary staff because I see the same faces with the same stuck up attitude every time we have visited. We have been treated badly, spoken to rudely and left to feel like we shouldn’t be there. We are local residents and honestly every time it’s like we are putting them out. Maybe they only care about the hotel guests? In summary: Stuffy, stuck up staff Unmanned reception area Slow food and drinks Limited food menu Ok food - not the wow of a 5* Strict rules on where you can sit and eat Limited access to car park Perfect for instagram terrible for real life. I do keep going back because I keep thinking ‘it’s teething problems’ but after my visit yesterday when I pre booked a table for lunch outside and when I arrived was told I had to sit inside - when I ask why I was told that the tables on the outside are first come first serve. However, the previous visit (only last month) I didn’t book and was told all the outside tables were booked? Which is it? Maybe my face just doesn’t fit?!

Had amazing service today and was well looked after by the lovely Pawel!! He was so informative about the venue and food and The Nici is definitely a place we will return too it has a fantastic ambience and decor . The cocktails are fantastic especially the hurricane 😊
