Guest UserOn the recommendation of close friends, we chose to try Padma Hotel Semarang for our stay in Semarang, and we absolutely did not regret it. We truly enjoyed our stay.
The breakfast was extensive and delicious, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the gym was beautiful, and the coffee and pastries at Goolali were also of excellent quality. Combined with the beautiful entrance and the warm atmosphere of the hotel, it created a very pleasant overall experience.
What stood out the most to us, however, was the outstanding service from the staff. We would especially like to thank Mr. Syahrul for his professionalism and friendly service during breakfast.
One small point for improvement would be the speed of the Wi-Fi, especially when using YouTube on the television.
We certainly hope to return next year, hopefully for a longer stay.

Guest UserThank you so much, Hotel Tentrem! The breakfast here is truly the best – when you're in Semarang, you really don't need to go searching for food, everything is available at breakfast, it's perfect! ❤️❤️ It's absolutely the best! The service and hospitality are top-notch. We even requested decorations for Father's Day, and they helped decorate the room so beautifully and wonderfully. ❤️ All the staff are super friendly and helpful, and the room is incredibly comfortable, no doubt about it.

Ong HartonoThis was my first time staying at Khas Semarang. I arrived around 12 pm and the hotel was very crowded because there was an event that day. The staff told me check-in was only at 2 pm, which is fine, but the problem was there were basically no seats available in the lobby to wait.
They suggested I sit in the restaurant instead. Honestly that felt a bit strange since it’s Ramadan and people are fasting. Anyway, as a local I didn’t really mind, so I just went to Paragon Mall which is about 10 minutes away to kill some time.
The room itself was quite clean and had all the basic amenities, so no issue there.
For sahur, I requested breakfast to be delivered at 3 am. It only arrived around 3:30 am. When I asked the staff why it was late, they said they had to deliver to more than 20 rooms first. That made me wonder why they don’t just open a simple sahur buffet to make things easier for everyone. The soto was actually nice, but unfortunately it was already cold by the time it arrived.
Food overall was decent.
One thing I like about this hotel is the location. There are quite a few nice cafés around and many of them are open 24 hours, so it’s easy to find somewhere to hang out late at night if you want.

Anonymous UserThe hotel is located inside DP Mall. The room is quite spacious. I could hear the sound of the television from the room right next to mine (quite clearly—I could almost follow the news they were watching). It didn’t really bother me though. They offer 24-hour welcome drinks (only hot drinks like coffee and tea—I was expecting iced coffee). The room is equipped with a smart TV, so you can enjoy your favorite shows on Netflix, Disney+, and more. The staff is warm and friendly. Upon check-in, you’ll need to download an app to get your room key, and an OTP will be sent to your smartphone via SMS for confirmation. I was a bit frustrated since my daily phone uses a foreign number (which couldn’t receive SMS at that time). Luckily, I had my secondary phone with an Indonesian number (though it has terrible battery health). I didn’t know whether they provide a physical key or not (I didn’t ask). Overall, I enjoyed my stay there. Just please provide a physical key (a wooden one maybe, to match the eco-friendly theme).

Anonymous UserThis hotel has a unique and pleasant interior. The location is very strategic. The rooms are also comfortable and spacious. Generally, the cleanliness is good. However, there were some stains on the bed sheets. We checked, and the bed sheets had already been changed, but the stains were still there after coming from the laundry. Perhaps they could cross-check this with their laundry vendor. Even after we asked for new ones from housekeeping, they were in the same condition. Another minor point for me is the complimentary drinking water. It seems to be water from a dispenser (we don't know if it's refilled or not) served in a jug, not bottled mineral water. That's a bit odd for a 4-star hotel standard. But overall, it's okay.

_evas_Super super great location, close to Lawang Sewu, a mall, and a bus station. A cathedral and an army museum are within walking distance (tho you can skip the museuk tbh). Staffs are great, very polite, helpful, and quick to offer solutions. Quite loyal with the food and they provide water in the corridors. With that price, ofc there will be some setbacks, amenities are minimal, no fridge, no hair dryer (you can ask them directly), but they do provide water bottle everyday. Overall a great service and a pleasant stay

🌟 Rating: 4.5 / 5 | A classic, well-established hotel with an excellent location and attentive service, perfect for both business and leisure!
✍️ Review:
My stay at Novotel Semarang was very satisfying overall; it truly lives up to its international brand reputation, with all aspects performing above average.
Excellent Location: The hotel is situated in a prime location in downtown Semarang, offering incredibly convenient transportation access to the Old Town (Kota Lama), popular attractions, and shopping malls. It's a top choice for both business travelers and tourists.
High Standard of Service and Dining: The staff were exceptionally warm and professional right from check-in. I especially want to praise their breakfast – the variety was impressive, with a wide selection of local Indonesian flavors and Western dishes, all prepared with great care.
Well-Equipped Facilities, Though Showing Some Age: The room was spacious, and the bedding was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. While it's clear the hotel has been around for a while and the decor is more classic and traditional, the overall cleanliness was spotless, and maintenance was excellent. The hotel's pool and gym were also very clean, perfect for relaxing after a busy day.

The location is still goo. The hotel is very aesthetic and has a beautiful design. There is no gym or swimming pool, but the strength of this hotel is the rooftop. It is also near a big mall in Semarang, which is convenient.

ChewCHPlus:
Friendly staff at lobby, reception and restaurant. Helpful staff at Obsidian who helped reheat our food although bought from outside 🙏👍
Location is strategic - near to the mall and walking distance old town tourist attraction.
Minus:
The touchless elevator buttons were too sensitive. The lift at all floors lit when hand came near. It caused the slowing down due to stopping at each floor and prolonged guests waiting time especially during peak hours.
Sound proof was not effective- the loud noise from traffic, exercise dance music from nearby square was truly disturbing during night and morning.
Restaurant is quite small. Hard to find a seat during breakfast time.

Mels2012The hotel is quite old and very big, but everything is still well-maintained and in good condition. It offered good value for money for three people plus a friend. We enjoyed beautiful views of Mount Ungaran every morning. The breakfast was delicious, with a different menu offered daily – absolutely fantastic!
One thing that made us quite reluctant to move was the incredibly long walk from the reception to the elevators. The restaurant is also quite a trek from the elevators, which is understandable given how massive this hotel is. If you're staying alone, I wouldn't recommend this hotel; you might get the creeps walking around by yourself, haha!
However, if you're with a big group and kids, it's fine and not spooky. But precisely because the hotel is so huge, the distances to the elevators and restaurant are considerable, and it can feel incredibly deserted! 😭😭😱😱
