City Hotel Bucharest

The hotel is very good, the location is also OK, because only stayed for one day, did not pay attention to whether there is parking lot, breakfast in the local, personal favorite flavor, do not make reference. 😊😊
West Gate Studios

The rooms are big, it is like an one bedroom apartment. It is quite clean and there is someone at the receptions 24/7. They also have free parking. Downside is that is very far from city center. No breakfast.
Le Blanc ApartHotel

The welcoming was warm and cheerful. as we arrived at around 3ish in the morning we were family of 7 with 2younger kids 4 and 6. The apartment was spacious enough to accommodate large families. We booked 2rooms and allocated separately which is doable. We were delighted and had a feeling of good sleep on a bed in masters bedrooms. although the matress in the living room were keep on toring apart in (14,11) both rooms. After a few days we have found the heater weren’t working and did ask twice for assistance to fixing it am not sure it hasnt been done until we checked out. Our stay could have been great if the reception incharge where not “sushing” the kids since we were passing the corridors it was an uncomfortable feeling throughout our stay. As we feel we werent home away from home it feels akward passing accross the corridors so i did ask and try to move our rooms closer which also wasn’t successful. my only suggestion would be, put an age bracket of the kids on the advertising to set our expectations before making a booking rather than “family friendly” Nonetheless they were helpful indeed and cleanliness and the location were superb!
Ibis Bucharest Politehnica

I went to Bucharest for one conference, and stayed the entire month until the second conference. And then I stayed another month because everything fit together so nicely with the room, the breakfast and the dinner. I had looked into another ibis, more center city so I could walk to more touristy places, but I was very happy being able to do most everything I needed to do on foot or by bus. An occasional Uber to AFI Cotroceni filled in the gaps. The nearby grocery store was bigger, and the closest Post Office was nicer than those in other areas I have stayed in. As many others have mentioned, the staff was very personable. Their numbers were fairly small which meant I had the chance to interact with each over the ensuing weeks. Not a bad apple in the entire bunch! In fact I left with two new Facebook friends! The hotel is large but not the largest Acoor property I have stayed in, and overtime several tour groups visited for evening dinner and morning breakfast. As an American, my favorite part of traveling is to mingle and interact with persons from different countries with different languages. It was very interesting meeting people from Kyiv, several groups from Spain, and even a tour bus of Asian adults. There was an Erasmus group of students, I learned later apparently from Greece, and models from a Romanian reality Tv series. Building the Ibis next-door to Politechnia was an amazing decision. While I have no connection to the school, I did occasionally walk up and down the flower garden to take in the sights, and to get in some exercise that I otherwise would have gotten doing touristy things in old town. The kitchen restaurant was an amazing room, and I wound up spending the better part of an hour and a half a day there, for breakfast and back for dinner. It is an ibis so the furniture was a little quirky, but I found ways to keep my ailing back very comfortable. My being gluten and lactose intolerant, the staff was very aware, and despite the fact that I brought my own bread which can be a little tricky, they had plenty for me to choose from. Especially since I don't stray from very plain American/English menu items. Almost everyone spoke English, and those who did were quite fluent! I would not be surprised if some were also fluent in other European languages, especially what are known as the Romance languages. Perhaps even German! I had a quality time and I will return for the next conferences.
Orhideea Residence & Spa
4.4/547 Reviews
We stayed for three nights 17th-20th March. This was unfortunately at the height of the Coronavirus pandemic in Romania and across the world. Obviously this meant that circumstances weren’t quite ‘normal’. Despite this, the hotel staff were really accommodating and calm. We were sadly informed by the British Embassy on our first day that we should self-isolate so we naturally spent a lot of time in the hotel. Despite the lack of guests and the closure of some facilities such as the spa, the hotel did their best to make our stay feel as normal as possible e.g. putting on breakfast and delivering this to our room and allowing us to check out later without charge as we had an evening flight. The room we stayed in was very spacious and had an amazing view of the city. We will be returning to Bucharest once the Coronavirus travel ban is over and we have said that we will stay at the Orhideea Residence and Spa again.
Stunning 2-Room Penthouse with Lakeview W11

For the price it’s pretty good for a penthouse apartment on the top floor. The only negative I would say is that despite being a smart home when you need heating on it wouldn’t heat up the room. Overall the host is a lovely person and is helpful and attentive and it’s a location I would recommend if ever in the area.
