First impression is that the hotel is past it’s best and definitely due for a major overhaul, reception area is rather dull, though every member of staff was very personable and friendly. Hallways also showing signs of wear and tear, stained carpets and scuffed paintwork. A sign advising not to wear muddy boots in the hotel might be an indication of a problem they have with some guests? Good size room, again some staining on the carpet, nice to have a kitchenette with cooker, fridge and crockery. There is a good supermarket next door if you want to self-cater or you can get a 20% discount at the nearby pub. Bed comfortable and linen clean, in fact I had a great night’s sleep. Included “continental breakfast” is served in a room in the basement. Limited choice but sufficient. Overall, a comfortable overnight stay convenient for the airport though not necessarily good value for money.

We stayed at The Latch Inn in February to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was perfect! We had the gorgeous Miraloma Room with its lovely fireplace, balcony with a view over the bobbing boats, and very comfortable bed. There was lots of room to do my yoga in the morning. Breakfast was delicious and catered to vegetarian and gluten free needs. We also enjoyed two nearby restaurants, the Sea Glass a short walk away and Deep Cove Chalet a short drive away. Probably best of all was curling up in front of the fire in the very cosy lounge with homemade cookies! We didn’t meet Dominique but David and Michael were wonderful hosts. We look forward to coming back in the spring to enjoy the lovely outdoor spaces.
