Unexpectedly good! It's a two-story LOFT setup, and what's really impressive is the guesthouse design that incorporates historical elements. It's built on the original site of Lin Xichun's mansion from the Ming Dynasty, giving it an elegant ambiance. Located right in the heart of the ancient city, it's super convenient for sightseeing. We even received a souvenir when we checked out. Highly recommended!

Minglin House is a charming guesthouse nestled in an alleyway, where traditional elegance meets modern design. Hotel is nested in a quiet alley in the old town. Be prepared to walk a short distance of around 200m from where the car alight. No breakfast at hotel but easy to get food from the old street. Lots of instagrammable spot at the hotel. Hotel also has a history as it belongs to the house of an official in the past.highly recommended to those who like to stay in antique houses.

Our second visit within a year! Gorgeous refurbished old mansion with close proximity to everything. We stayed in the courtyard suite both times and love the extra space in the courtyard to relax in. The rooms have everything you need, the bathrooms are great and they give huge bottles of water which is much appreciated. Everything is managed via WeChat - arrival times, housekeeping, check out times etc - and they sent a ton of information about local attractions and places to eat. Love the old alleyways we have to walk through to get to the inn from the main road and Pai Fang Street. Just be aware that you’ll need to be dropped off on the main road with your luggage and it’s a short 5 min walk through the alleyways to the inn - it’s an easy walk and flat, so no issues with wheeling your luggage. They made sure to tell us that before our first trip. We will be back!

Location of hotel is near to Chaozhou stone arch pedestrian street and the Guanji bridge area. Both are a short walk away. The hotel is a beautifully restored ancient mansion. It's layout of buildings, courtyards and gardens within the mansion compound all come together to make the guest feel calm and peaceful. You will staying at this gem. Stayed in November 2025.

This is a renovated old house with a lot of history. It retains its cultural charm but features very modern facilities, including Japanese-style toilets, and the bed is super comfortable. This is the best guesthouse in the Paifang Street ancient city. Everything is great, and the service is especially good. This hotel, designed like a traditional courtyard house, was very comfortable. The staff were really welcoming and even brought us a big snack box every day, which my kid loved! The bedding and amenities were all top-notch. Plus, there's a dryer and a place to hang clothes, which was a huge plus. The only downside is that you have to drag your luggage for about 4-5 minutes as cars can't access the narrow alley.
