This hotel is located in the heart of the ancient city, right behind the former residence of Rao Zongyi, offering a beautiful and tranquil environment. It’s a hidden gem, providing peace and quiet amidst the bustling area, and boasting an antique charm. Every morning, waking up and stepping onto the small balcony to feel the breeze and listen to the chirping birds in the *Pingpo* tree is incredibly pleasant. The temperature difference between day and night was quite significant during my stay. The ancient city gets very crowded during the day, so it was perfect to grab some local delicacies, bring them back to the room to savor, and then relax with a short nap before heading out again in the evening.
While there are many positives, there are also quite a few drawbacks. The breakfast was the biggest letdown – mostly pre-made, processed dishes with little character and not very tasty. The room's temperature and humidity control were poor, and some of the hardware had design flaws… Overall, it's a place where all the basic functions are there, but form takes precedence over substance, and the quality definitely needs improvement.
However, I must commend the hotel's emergency response and service attitude. They didn't shy away from issues, actively sought to understand the situation, and the operations manager, in particular, was excellent. He constantly reviewed the hotel's problems and offered reasonable solutions, which I really appreciate. I hope the remaining issues will be gradually addressed once the post-holiday crowds clear out. I look forward to a significantly improved experience on my next visit.
