It’s a nice hotel. The room was very clean. Check-in was no problem. Very nice to us. It was just the parking was a block and a half away. But we did find a parking spot on the street on the opposite side of the block. You can drop your stuff off in front of the hotel and check in before you go find your parking. Lots of places to go eat in the area. I’m not sure but I think this is part of Chinatown. If not it’s right next to it . We definitely stay again.

I have stayed here many times. The hotel is right in Chinatown and it is very convenient to get in and out. The environment is good and the breakfast is rich. The room space is also large. It is enough to accommodate more than 3 people. The parking lot is next to the hotel and the price is not expensive. The only disadvantage is that the hotel is close to the subway. I occasionally hear the sound of the subway at night.

I stayed here for 3 nights. At the time I made the booking, I was not made aware that the restaurant and bar would not be open and breakfast would only be available Monday to Friday. Given my booking started on a Friday and as Diamond member of the hotel's chain loyalty programme I am entitled to opt for a free breakfast for every morning of my stay in a hotel. So, instead of 3 breakfasts I end up with 1. Compensation for lack of facilities - apparently in my dreams! Would have I booked this hotel if I had known the true facts at the time of booking - absolutely not! If I had chosen to walk away instead of checking in, my booking was subject to a $250 early departure fee - spot the shysters! The hotel looks like it could do with being re-furbished. If I want the room to be serviced I am required to give 24 hours notice. I did not request the room be serviced but I wanted further supplies of shampoo, shower gel and towels etc. - as I came out my room there was a maid with a trolley in the corridor. I asked for the shampoo etc. but was refused and told to ring ”downstairs”. This had not been a problem the previous morning. What sort of customer service is this? Whilst the hotel is relatively conveniently situated, the view from the hotel window is multiple freeways. Do I recommend this hotel - NO.

The hotel is well decorated and relatively new. The disadvantage is that the sound insulation is super poor! Every morning, I was awakened by the sound of a banging door, and the waiter could hear the speech outside.
Good location, walking distance from Willis tower, Magnificent mile and Art Institute, but! There are too many hotels nearby, and Hilton has a lot of them. This one is definitely low cost performance.

I came into town early in the morning, after a raging party and not enough food. I had been traveling for more hours than I care to admit, and I was running on fumes. All I wanted to do was plop on the bed and nap. And when I got to the hotel, there weren't any clean rooms available that early before check-in. But DeAndre turned that whole experience around! I know he could tell I was running ragged, and he did all he could for me. He let me into the more spacious bathroom so I could change clothes and splash my face with water. He sent me to the restaurant so I could eat. And he gave me my Hilton Honors welcome pack with water early. Then, as I was sitting in the lobby waiting, he noticed me, and as soon as a room became available, he let me know. And I took an epic nap and had a wonderful trip. Thank you, DeAndre!

The hotel was great. Good amenities and friendly staff. The hot tub wasn't working for us, but overall great. I'm especially thankful to the security and cleaning staff. I left a very important family item in my room after check out. I called the desk and was forwarded to cleaning/security staff. I spoke to the supervisor, Brandon and he was amazing. His staff understood the importance, check the room, found my item and had open communication with me. I drove a few hrs to pick it back up. They had it safe and sound. They didn't disregard my issue and were extremely pleasent and understanding to me. I applaud them and recommend their Hilton Garden Inn. They were top notch staff. From Brandon (security) , to check in staff Lee and all. Thank you very much. A. Jackson

The small fridge in the room automatically shuts off after 2 hrs and doesn't stay at a safe temperature to store breast milk. The front desk advised to just use an ice bucket. This is problematic because (1) you will have to continually refill the ice bucket and (2) there is limited capacity. After an escalation to the manager, they offered to hold my milk behind the front desk in their fridge. I am not comfortable with that ”solution” nor do I want to go back and forth to the front desk for my baby's bottles and milk storage. He advised they previously provided medical fridges but they currently do not do so. I am so beyond disappointed. I expected so much more from this brand and now have to figure out something to do with my milk for my exclusively breast fed baby. Ugh, don't they have mother's stay at this property!? Marriott, do better!

It’s just a very standard Samsung hotel with basic configuration. Before I checked in, I didn’t expect it to be the lowest-equipped Hilton I’ve ever stayed in the world. I have to bring everything except the daily coffee machine, shower triangle set and hairdryer. It’s a bit like a family. The hotel has a stove, an empty refrigerator, and a lot of tableware, no baths~ It’s quite comfortable for two days for business travel
The breakfast is very average, probably because the epidemic food is very average and it is not allowed to eat dine-in tableware. It is also a one-time take away. The location is good. Because it is very familiar here, there are no worry about eating in the surrounding supermarkets. There is a Starbucks, and there is an Asian restaurant on both sides of the house. Both are small plates. (My boyfriend and I have discussed for a long time and I don’t know how to translate). There is also a milk tea shop when I go out, but I didn’t try it because I don’t like sweets.
I live on the 17th floor, which is relatively east. Half of the window can see the lake view. Although the location of the hotel is not particularly good, the view is still quite beautiful
Since I prefer to stay in a better hotel, if I don’t consider the location, I would not book it again~

Our six night stay was surprisingly quiet. Population was sp**** in The South Loop. And there wasn’t a close by mall or large grocery store. But the main attractions like the zoo, art museum, science museum can be easily reached by cab. By 10am, there are almost no cars on the street on the weekend. Felt isolated and alone walking on the street. The district at night has it’s dangers. Robbery is rampant; but at least you won’t be killed. Friendly advice from the hotel. The room rate is high yet didnt include room slippers or toothbrushes. Water bottle wasnt free; charges were $6 a bottle. But I did enjoy the Food Hall on the ground floor and prices were reasonable at $10 for a fresh large salad or $14 for a pizza. The ramen noodles wasn’t too good though. The meat was dry and 8 slices too many. The Food Hall is only opened when the hotel has high occupancy (I was told). There is a small refrigerator in the room. Free of charge. We asked for a late checkout and the answer was a clear ‘No’. Even with a Marriott membership, an extra hour was not possible. Our room was very clean and with a good view; floor to ceiling window. Very comfortable stay. Any improvements? The front desk lady could have been more welcoming or friendlier maybe.

The room is large, apartment-style for cooking, and the equipment is complete. It's very cost-effective for a large number of people. There are people cleaning the room every day. It feels suitable for family travel. There is a lot of breakfast provided, and you can pack it as you like, which feels very good.

Excellent
GGuest UserWe stayed here on a 2 day vacation after getting married (not the honeymoon). We were on the 7th floor so we thought it would be rather quiet, or, at least, not too much ambient noise from outside. We were wrong. We heard cars, sirens and utility trucks like they were right outside our window. We heard the elevator ding every time someone called for one. The walls (exterior and interior) must be very thin compared to every other hotel we've been to.
We ordered Chinese from a nearby restaurant and it was very good, but we had way more than we could finish. Opened up the fridge and it was turned off! We turned it on high and it never got very cold. We probably should have called the front desk, but instead we told them on the way out.
The ice machine was broken on our floor and the vending machine would not take credit cards. The rooms are dated. The bathroom lights are very bright and only one switch for all of them. When going to the bathroom in the middle of the night you are blinded. This is ridiculous. There should be a way of illuminating in at least 2 stages or at least don't install concert lighting.
The staff were not friendly nor inviting. The pillows and sheets were nice, but the bet was very uncomfortable.
All in all I would never stay here again and wish I had seen a review like this when I researched area hotels.
GGuest UserThe hotel has a good location, just beside Michigan Avenue, and convenient to all major attractions in Chicago. The hotel environment is also very good. It is quiet and clean. The space is large enough. There is sufficient hot water supply, but there is no hot water to drink. We brought our own heat The most distinctive feature of the kettle for boiling water is the hotel’s robots, which can deliver water and daily necessities, which are available on demand, great! We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are many restaurants around, which are very convenient. The waiters in the hotel are very good and the service is very warm and thoughtful. Our trip felt very good, the price was affordable and the process was comfortable!
PPMy family and I arrived around 330AM on a Friday night/Saturday morning.
Service: 4/5
The Night staff was awesome, hospitality was IMPECCABLE! From the receptionist , bellhop helper, security, you name it! I wish I could remember their names but the receptionist was a young African American male about early-mid 20s! The morning crew and afternoon crew need some pointers from the night shift staff because they need some work.
Rooms: 3/5
Our room had 2 full size beds, they were nice and spacious for all 4 of us (3 adults & 1 child). No microwave was an inconvenience but it wasn’t too big of a deal since our short was stay.
Overall I would rate our stay a 4/5 (Would have been 3.5/5 had it not been for the service we experienced when checking in.
GGuest UserSeparate the truly excellent Webster Grille restaurant from this hotel and you have ... nothing that recommends staying here. But the Webster Grille is expensive ($95 steaks and up.) So, there is a bit of a mismatch. Check-in took forever because they had one person at the desk handling a line that literally went out the door. Hotels know who is coming in and should plan accordingly. I was here 5 nights, and 6 days and got housekeeping service twice despite asking for it each day. One day they came in and emptied the garbage cans and threw some towels on the bed and tossed in a couple of Keurig cups. There are just too many other options to stay here. The beds and sheets are pretty good, but it's just a place to stay - no frills and poor service. I will look elsewhere next trip.
GGuest UserThe experience from check-in to check-out was superb. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is perfect because it is the heart of everything on Michigan Avenue! When we walked out of the hotel, shopping and restaurants were all around! I would definitely stay here again in the future.
SsknoseyThe free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating.
There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm.
There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.
CChung hoThis is a historical hotel in Chicago, love it very much. I love their restaurant & bar, good atmosphere and serve with good foods (see my pictures).
I will definitely choose this hotel again by the next time to Chicago
GGuest UserThis hotel is a far cry from the one advertised on the website. It needs a deep clean, making for a only bearable stay if you're never planning on being in the room aside from sleeping. However, the beds are not comfortable so I can't say sleep was easy come by either. Definitely bring shower shoes to wear - no bare feet on that carpet! The front desk staff do a good job selling you on downloading the hotel app, but do not be duped into thinking you might get a free night after gaining the right number of points via the app. You only get this if you make a whole new booking with a special rate from the company. This is not what the front desk clerk told me when I checked-in and I wouldn't have bothered joining if I'd been told the truth, as I never plan on staying at this hotel or with this chain again. (I wonder why I was told a falsehood...!) While the location is great, I'm not sure it's worth the money to stay here. I'd rather have paid more for a nicer experience, or booked father afield for a cleaner more pleasant hotel.
GGuest UserWe attended the Chicago International Miniature show at the nearby Marriott O'Hare. Because that hotel was full, we booked the Springhill Suites. They ran a shuttle to the other hotel with a super nice front desk staffer driving. The hotel itself was fine and the free breakfast was above average. Parking was on long surface lots on both ends of the hotel, but there is also an underground garage. The onsite Outback steakhouse was a plus. Rooms were good, nice and quiet despite being near airport and freeway with a microwave and small fridge
GGuest UserChecking in at the
Congress Plaza was so straight forward. I was upgraded without asking to a King size bed with a lake view. The room was perfect. Fridge, safe, TV , Coffee and water.
