We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Everything was fine on the first day, but the problem began on the evening of the second day when we returned to our room after a long day of sightseeing. We specifically chose this hotel because it advertised all rooms as smoke free, but when we got back to the room, we could smell strong scent of ****. Whether it was the housekeeper or if the smell was coming from a neighbors, the intense odor was unbearable, so we went down to the front desk to resolve the issue.
However, the staff's response was extremely disappointing. We received no basic apology whatsoever. Far from apologizing, the agent we spoke to seemed annoyed by our complaint, responding with an attitude. He didn't seem sorry or try to understand our situation; he just looked like he wanted to get rid of us quickly. The new room we were given was actually a river view, but the employee didn't even seem aware of what they were offering, calling it a city view room and simply giving us a thumbs up.
After getting our luggage, we felt the employee's attitude was unacceptable. We returned to the lobby to speak with a different staff member. Fortunately, the second employee's response was much more reasonable. They apologized and called the Front Desk Manager, who listened to our concerns and finally provided a proper explanation of the room(in fact it was a river view) we had received, along with a sincere apology.
We appreciated for his assistance and went to the new room. However, this room had a slight smell of cigarette as well. It was light enough that it cleared out somehow, but if you are sensitive to smell, I would not recommend this hotel.
Here is the view from the bed in the new river view room we were given. I will attach the photo below.
