**Location** Smack in the middle of everything—but still tucked away from the chaos. The hotel is ideally located between Raffles City Chongqing and Hongya Cave, yet it sits along a quieter side lane, not directly on the main road. I really appreciated this—after a long day out, the last thing I wanted was to fight through crowds just to get back to my room. That said, once you step out and walk less than 30 seconds to the main street, you’re right back in the heart of the action. There's also a metro station nearby, making it super convenient to get around. **Food** Right outside the building, there’s a line of food stalls and small shops that run from breakfast through late-night supper. (Pro tip: they open early, so breakfast is sorted. And for late-night skewers, I recommend the left-most stall when you're exiting the building—it was my favorite.) The whole stretch is worth exploring, and if you're feeling lazy, food delivery apps can send your order straight to your room. **Service** The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. On my second-last day, I asked for something to weigh my luggage and they provided a small, lightweight scale I could bring up to my room—really thoughtful. Upon check-in, I scanned their WeChat QR code to stay connected (a standard practice in China). They’ve set up auto-replies with all the info you’d need: where the laundry room is, local food recommendations (with addresses), and suggested itineraries with transport directions. Very helpful! And don't worry—WeChat has a built-in translation feature, so everything can be viewed in English. **Room** I was upgraded to a room on the 23rd floor. From walking past other rooms during housekeeping, I suspect mine was actually one of the smaller ones—yet it was still very spacious. (My 27” luggage fit easily with room to spare, if that helps for scale.) The water temperature in the shower stayed constant, which is always a big plus. Also worth mentioning: while the street outside looks pretty standard for Chongqing, once you enter the lobby and walk the corridors, it feels like a different world—modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. A nice contrast I really enjoyed. **Other Tips** When booking a Didi (ride-hailing app), sometimes the default pickup point is set to the main road. Just double-check the map in the app and adjust accordingly—again, it’s really just a 30-second walk. All in all, I’d absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in Chongqing—and I’m pretty sure I will be!

We booked for 6 nights and we absolutely loveddddddddd our stay here! The room was very comfy, clean and modern. And the location couldn’t be more convenient. Walking distance to Jie Fang Bei (shopping district) & Hong Ya Dong (most popular spot in CQ) and tons of restaurants, chagee & cha yan yue se. Right infront of a huge shopping mall. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, especially staff 7 & 9, they made us feel really welcome. Would definitely recommend my peers and stay again when i revisit!

Perfect Hotel. Looks exactly like the pictures but better. Greeted with a very warm welcome. Room was very big, clean and great air con system. Location: perfect, everything in walking distance. If you want to go further, the metro is 2mins away. Will stay here again for sure. As a foreign traveler, my stay at MOUNTWELL·Shanqi Executive Suite Hotel (Jiefangbei Hongya Cave Branch) in Chongqing was an absolute delight! Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff at the front desk. They were not only efficient in handling the check - in process but also incredibly helpful, providing me with detailed information about local attractions and delicious food spots in English. The room was a haven of comfort and luxury. The large floor - to - ceiling windows offered an unbeatable view of Chongqing's stunning skyline. At night, the city lights twinkled like stars, creating a magical scene that I couldn't get enough of. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. Modern amenities such as a Dyson hairdryer added a touch of high - end convenience. The hotel's location is superb. Just a short walk from Jiaochangkou Subway Station, it made getting around the city a breeze. Popular attractions like Jiefangbei and Hongya Cave were easily accessible on foot. Overall, this hotel perfectly combined comfort, convenience, and excellent service. It truly enhanced my experience in Chongqing, and I can't wait to stay here again on my next visit!

I like the hotel with high cost performance and large french window in the room! The room is very large, soundproof, very quiet, very comfortable to sleep in. I fell asleep after lying down for a few seconds, because the mattress and pillow are really comfortable, which is a bonus. The central air conditioner in the room is very awesome, the cooling speed is fast, the service staff Tingting is considerate, the room lighting is reasonable, and it is very considerate! The TV is also very high-definition, your eyes won't get tired watching TV, and the internet speed is also fast

We recently stayed at the Chongqing Ashan River View Hotel (Jiefangbei Raffles Square Branch), and it was an amazing experience! The service was truly outstanding. Despite the language barrier, the front desk staff were incredibly kind and helpful. One of the lovely ladies even went out of her way to pick us up from the mall, which was such a thoughtful touch. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful river-view duplex, and I have to say it was absolutely stunning. The room was spotless, and the tranquility of the place made for a peaceful and restful stay. There were no disturbances, and I slept like a baby, which is always a huge plus when traveling. I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent service, beautiful rooms, and great location. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Chongqing!

5-Star Stay in Chongqing! Our recent stay in Chongqing was fantastic! The hotel’s location was perfect—close to major attractions like Hongya Cave and Jiefangbei, with easy metro access. The personalised service from 阿娇 truly stood out; the staff remembered our preferences and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They even recommended hidden local eateries, which were amazing! The room was clean, comfortable, and offered stunning city views. Such a memorable experience—we’d definitely stay here again. Excellent location with literally 5 mins walk to the busy pedestrian street. Hotel is located within and office blocks, fairly common for all the hotel within the city vicinity. Easy to find the hotel with good signage on ground level. Very central location, with easy pickup/drop off to move around with Didi. The room is spacious, and functional. Has an in-room washing machine with dryer which is fully functional. They provided laundry detergents, so very helpful. Staff are friendly, prompt and helpful. Appreciate that they connect me to the highly sought after dinner cum performance 礼宴. Value stay.

This was the second time i came to stay at this hotel, and i can say with confidence that this is an excellent place to stay in the heart of Chongqing. The location is perfect and central to all attractions and also easily acceable to metro stations nearby. The food courts are within a 2 minute walk from the front door, and there is food available 24 hrs in the area. My highest praise goes to the wonderful staff who were always attentive to our needs and assisted with any questions we had about the city, transport, and general directions. All the staff were really great, especially Xiao Lian and Xiao Zhao at the reception who were very kind and helpful. Thankyou ! We stayed in two different types of rooms, both times the rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable. amazing value for money considering the location and quality, in the center of the city!
