Chongqing Yuzhong District Hotels

The room is pretty spacious and is clean and tidy. Check-in was very fast and staffs are super friendly. Location wise is nt bad as it's walking distance to 小什字stn and you can actually just walk to Raffles City. It's a pity there's no fridg in the room. There's also only 2 washing machines and 1 dryer provided in the hotel, which makes it quite inflexible. And I couldn't access most channels on the TV as you need to pay for premium members.. so there's nothing much to watch. The building is also quite rundown/dated and you have to wait pretty long to get up/down at certain timing because there's only 3 lifts serving 3 big hotels. This is quite a turn off for me. Overall quite enjoy the stay but don't think I'll be coming back due to many inconveniences.

Really enjoyed our stay here! The location is super convenient—just a short walk to 解放碑 and 洪崖洞, and there are tons of milk tea shops around (I think I had one every day 😂). The room was great! We booked one for four people, and it was spacious, clean, and very comfy. They even provided little sleep kits with earplugs and eye masks, which was a nice touch and helped us sleep better. One thing we didn’t expect—they actually offer free high tea! Sadly, we didn’t have time to try it, but it was nice to know it was available. Also, we ordered some stuff from 淘宝 and had it sent to the hotel ahead of time. The staff helped collect and keep it safe for us until we checked in. Super helpful! And I have to mention the free breakfast—soooo delicious! The best part? You can still enjoy it even after 10am, which is perfect if you like to sleep in. (红油抄手 超级好吃） Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Chongqing. Would definitely come back! (Attached the view from room)

Our family recently stayed at Mountwell Chongqing (Jiefangbei) and overall, we had a wonderful experience. The location is fantastic – right in the heart of Jiefangbei, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. The panoramic suite offered breathtaking views, and the room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, perfect for families. The front desk was exceptionally helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. Special shoutout to 金金, 紫涵, 二娃, 小林, and 慧子 (Guest Manager) for their professionalism and genuine care—they went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The lobby’s well-stocked snacks and drinks were a lovely touch, showing their attention to guest needs. That said, we did encounter a few issues: Sewage smell in the toilet (room 2902) – Unfortunately, the master bathroom had a persistent sewage odour that permeated into the master bed room despite having the bathroom door closed. We raised the complaint to the front desk but had the misfortune of encountering an employee Mr. Yang who was not only rude but dismissive and condescending when speaking to us. He accused us of being oversensitive and even insinuated we were exaggerating the stench to get a discount. He arranged for the cleaners to fix it. And by fix, i mean opened the window and sprayed some deodorant. We said that was merely a temporary solution and the stench will return. He begrudgingly moved us to another room (room 3702) and said the stench is gone (it is not) and he would “behead” himself if it returns (he did not). The odour though still present was much more tolerable. We visited the front desk again to feedback on the odour situation and on Mr. Yang. The front desk apologised profusely on behalf of Mr. Yang and assured us we would not have to interact with Mr. Yang again. Aircon issue – On our first night in 3702, the AC shut off automatically due to a floor-wide problem, but it was fixed the next day. Washing machine issue – after moving to 3702, the washing machine broke. We called the front desk and they promptly arranged for a replacement. Unfortunately, the brand new replacement washing machine leaked after the first wash. We informed the staff and they offered to complete the wash and dry our laundry for us while we leave for our day so as to not affect our itinerary. It was unfortunate but we thought they handled the situation well. Why still 5 stars? Because every hotel have flaws—what matters is how they’re handled. Aside from that one rude staff, (the team especially the staff we praised) turned potential frustrations into minor footnotes. Their sincerity and efficiency in problem-solving reflect true hospitality, and we’d gladly return. Keep up the great work!

A very satisfying stay! The hotel is in a great location with convenient transportation, near Bayi food area and Jiaochangkou night market. You can get here from metro Jiaochangkou or Xiaoshizi Line 2. We have best view from our room 😍 The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and check-in was very efficient. The room was clean and tidy, with full facilities, a comfortable bed, and good service which made for a peaceful stay. Feels like home. Special thanks to the staff for offering a late checkout—such a thoughtful touch. I’ll definitely choose this hotel again next time. Highly recommended!

The staff (Xiao Huang, Xiao Lian, Ting Ting, Sa Sa & Wei Wei) were very friendly & helpful. I like that they provide free laundry services. The clothes were washed by the staff during the day time & returned back to us when we are back at the end of the day. The hotel has very beautiful night views too.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, just a short walk away from the metro station. Front desk provides good and friendly service, and gifted us welcome and farewell gifts upon check in and check out. The room is spacious and clean. Washroom and shower are in separated cubicles. Hotel provides free laundry service, but there is only one washing machine and two dryers on our floor (there is one more laundry room in another floor).

The hotel is clean and well kept. The location excellent. Walking distance to the train station and a drop off point for taxi and private hirer. Very accessible. The room is big and the view excellent. Overseeing the river and the raffles city.

Superb location and value for money. Level 1 is a short walk to Hongyadong, while level 2 connects you to Jiefangbei. We booked the family room because the price was very reasonable, and we were not disappointed. The hotel staff was also very friendly and helpful! The only thing they could improve on is their breakfast selection. For a hotel that will receive international travellers, they could have included other choices of meat instead of pork throughout. Other than that, we had an excellent stay and would recommend the hotel! 地理位置优越，物超所值。从一楼步行即可到达洪崖洞，二楼则可直达解放碑。我们预订了家庭房，因为价格非常合理，而且没有让我们失望。酒店员工也非常友好热情！唯一需要改进的地方是早餐的选择。对于一家接待国际旅客的酒店来说，他们本可以在整个酒店中提供其他肉类选择，而不是猪肉。除此之外，我们的住宿体验非常棒，强烈推荐这家酒店！

Conveniently located right near the food street. However there is no metro/subway station nearby (around 700m) away. The staff were responsive (via WeChat). You are only allowed to wash a handful of clothes a day, which when travelling for weeks, is not really helpful. I’m not sure why we couldn’t have more washed to make up a full load. I suppose our clothes are mixed in with others?

Wonderful Stay with Exceptional Service! We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, and what truly made it stand out was the incredible service we received from Rey at the reception. After traveling across China, Rey was the first person we met who was fluent in English, and that instantly made us feel welcome and at ease. He was extremely helpful, kind, and made sure all our queries were answered without any communication barriers. Our room was on the 41st floor and the view was absolutely stunning — waking up to that skyline was such a treat! The room itself was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Overall, a great experience with excellent service, beautiful views, and a smooth check-in process thanks to Rey. Would definitely recommend staying here!
