"We stayed at the Eden Grand Hotel for two days and absolutely loved it. Although it can be a little tricky to find, the hotel is beautifully located at the edge of the forest, where monkeys leap from tree to tree. The rooms are cozy and well-designed, with a spacious, comfortable bed, modern bathroom and an AC. The service was exceptional. Breakfast is freshly prepared just for you, and the food was fantastic. The hotel also offers its own tuktuk driver, making it easy to visit nearby attractions like Sigiriya Rock. All in all, the Eden Grand Hotel is a charming and peaceful retreat and the Service will try its best to make your stay memorable."

The surroundings are beautiful, with plenty of nature and a relaxing atmosphere that helps you slow down and switch off from everyday life. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with a smile, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We especially loved the wellness experience, the healthy and delicious food, and the peaceful environment. It was the perfect place for us to spend quality time together, relax, and recharge. What stood out most was how genuine and caring everyone was. Nothing felt rushed, and the whole experience felt very personal and thoughtful. If you’re looking for a peaceful couples’ getaway or a wellness retreat in Sri Lanka, I would definitely recommend Ayugiri Wellness Resort. "We booked this hotel having read the reviews and website. Before I continue I want to say that we are frequent travellers and mainly stay where possible in 4/5* hotels. Unfortunately apart from the service from the Manager, Nishandra for the first 2 out of 4 days of our stay, and that of a young 18 yr old waiter, Rasanjana, they were 5*. The manager had to leave and left the chef in charge. This is when the staff, apart from Rasanjana seemed to not pay any attention to us. We were the only guests at this time. There is no phone in the room so you have to go hunting to find anyone to assist. The front reception is not always manned, on one occasion when we asked where the girl was we were told she's sleeping and the chef come assistant manager was also not available. The rooms are big and spacious and they will cook different things for you but that's the only positive. Our tap in the bathroom was falling away from the sink. The attention to detail was also not there. The state of the whole hotel is in need of a desperate uplift as it was dirty. The photos and description are misleading. I am sure if the manager had not had to leave for a few days, all the staff would have been 5* in his presence. This review is harsh but honest. It is only for those frequent travellers who are used to a 4/5* service."

"This hotel is really beyond our expectations. It was dark when we arrived. The hotel staff greeted us at the door. Everyone was smiling and the service was very good. The hotel is surrounded by forests and has an excellent original environment. The rooms are very large and the hygiene is also very good. Breakfast and dinner are also delicious with different choices. When we woke up in the morning, we could hear the peacocks calling and we saw cute monkeys. I highly recommend this hotel!!!"

"Our bus group stayed here 2 nights while exploring this area. Hotel is in a lovely setting. It was good we had some time to use the pool although the temperature was like a bath so not refreshing. As others have mentioned in bathrooms get so hot. The meals were good. We enjoyed a cooking demo and that food was delicious."

"We chose Hotel Sigiriya due to its proximity to The Lion Rock entrance. Distance from hotel is roughly 8 mins. Please note, it’s advisable to not WALK! Remember to order a tuk-tuk in advance if you plan to climb Sigiriya and watch the sunrise. We left at 5am and paid a return ride of LKR1,500 for two person. Our tuk-tuk driver Chaminda +94 ********* took good care of us -two 50yrs old ladies who successfully climbed the summit. Typical of Ceylonese people the hotel staffs were warm and friendly. Shout out to Tharaka (Reception Manager) who always greeted us with a smile and Shehan Restaurant Manager for entertaining us during our 3 day stay. Our room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Good hot shower and acceptable water pleasure. Nice to return to a room that’s been nicely made after 2 hard days of stairs climbing - the Pidurangala (first day) and Sigiriya (second day). Our travel dates were May 31 - Jun 3. Good variety for breakfast buffer - Sri Lankan and Western. The same applies to dinner buffer too. Overall, nice hotel and yes will stay again."

"The hotel is very well located, close to Lion Rock (Sigiriya). The room was very spacious and clean, with comfortable bedding and a pleasant shower. There's a lovely little pool with sun loungers. A buffet dinner is offered. Don't hesitate to ask for a freshly made cheese omelet at breakfast."

"First, this hotel is in a very remote location, with nothing nearby, making it difficult to get around. Secondly, the hotel's design clearly shows a lot of effort, but it's not well maintained. We were moved four rooms in one day. Within 10 minutes of checking in, they told us there was a plumbing problem. After a long wait, they moved us to a different room type. After checking in, we still had no water. In the third room, large bugs kept dropping onto the bed and onto our bodies throughout the night, which was terrifying. We finally got our final room cleaned and changed after 10 PM. We finally got some sleep, but the next morning, the stationary hair dryer was broken again! We had our laundry done, and they told us we didn't need to iron it, only wash it. But when we checked out, they still charged us for the ironing! Luckily, my husband had texted them about our request via What's Up, and they were able to get rid of the extra charge. This completely delayed our plans for the better part of a day!"

"Beautiful entrance and outdoor reception. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and spacious room. Working safe and large bathroom, ac working effectively. Restaurant good and bar area good. Some staff with little English but others help when necessary. The pool is a basic rectangle but clean and an infinity pool looking at the forest. Towels available and subbed, never busy when we used it. Swing too and treetop restaurant available on request. We saw wildlife around but not scarily; a water monitor lizard on the grass by pool and monkey by reception 🫶🏼. There were other facilities that we didn’t make use of and the only suggestion is more information on what is available. A great location to stay if you plan on seeing Sigiriya’s Lion Rock, Minneriya Elephant Safaris, Habarana cultural centre or a Village Tour."
