Best Hotels in Dambulla, Sri Lanka

This was the second time I visited Heritance Kandalama and it was better than the last stay especially I would like to mention the Guest Relations Executive Miss. Yoshina for taking care of our family and fulfilling all our needs with all the needed information with her efficient style and making the stay comfortable also big shoutout to the chefs food was beyond amazing and the restaurant staff was very active as well and also the suite was amazing with all the amenities that should be there in a room overall a 10/10 experience and a must visit place in Sri Lanka ♥️

I had a wonderful three-night stay at Jetwing Lake as a foreign tourist. I was a little nervous as to what to expect traveling to Sri Lanka as part of the tourist bio-bubble, given the current COVID- related restrictions. However, my concerns quickly dissipated, and I was so happy with my choice to stay at Jetwing Lake. This was the perfect base from which to explore the sites of the Cultural Triangle. The hotel itself is quite beautiful and well maintained. My Super Deluxe room was very spacious, had a beautiful bathroom (and lovely soaking tub), and a lovely patio/deck overlooking the pool and lake. The room was equipped with all the modern comforts. The food at the hotel was delicious and varied. The Sri Lanka fare did not disappoint, including the chicken curry and potato and leek burger. The cheesecake was also a delightful surprise. What set this hotel apart was the service, though. Everyone went out of their way to see to my every need, from learning my dining preferences to greeting me by name. The hotel staff even organized an afternoon cricket session, just for me. It was an incredible experience. I would absolutely stay here again, and I recommend to anyone interested in staying (whether locals or foreign tourists alike). Such a great experience!

The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. There was a nice backyard as well. The hotel was beautiful, with a really good view to the Lion Rock. The swimming pool was cool. The food was tasty and with a great variaty (with western and local options). There was live music every night. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

There are two types of English breakfast and Sri Lankan breakfast, which are quite rich, but less than buffet style. The room is very British. The backyard is a meadow, the trees are monkeys, and the environment is very good.

I don't know the common sense of Sri Lanka, so it may be normal, but from the Japanese, there was a little color 々 bad point. First of all, when I arrived at midnight, I contacted him on watsapp in advance, and I received an understanding email from the other side, but when I went, the gate was closed, and a person called and came out, but the story didn't go through. Confirmed the reservation as if it was To. I managed to check in, but the bed was full of insects and gecko feces. When I tried to boil the hot water, the pot had old white and muddy water, and something white was floating. Is it a karki when I wash the pot? White ones are attached and cannot be removed. There are no slippers, so it seems better to bring them with you. There are no amenities. Only shampoo and body lotion. I have bath towels but no towels. I didn't have a hair dryer, so when I asked the front desk, there was no hair dryer. The comforter is only sheets. I tried to store hot water in the bathtub, but I called the front desk because it was broken or there was little water and the metal fittings of the faucet were damaged. He said he would send someone, but no one came, and he put up with the bath and only took a shower. The water pressure in the shower is weak and the temperature is not stable. There were days when hot water did not come out at all, so I took a water shower. The ceiling of the shower room is open air, and mosquitoes are all-you-can-eat in the bathroom. There were spiders and there were several frogs in the shower. Well, because it is a hotel in nature, some insects were prepared, but the bad person may not be good. I lowered the tag on the doorknob to clean the room while I was out, but I was surprised when I came back, and the room hadn't changed since I left in the morning and it wasn't cleaned up. I had no choice but to change only the bath towel. The staff are friendly and nice, but is this kind of service normal in Sri Lanka? It's a mystery. The impression below the business hotel in Japan is honest.

MAGICAL!! it's a pity that we had just 1 night to spend in this resort.... it's a place to detox, disconnect, seek within and go on a soul searching journey to connect within yourself! The entire energy of this place is pure! From the way we were greeted with the temple flowers as we were walked down to our little cottage to the natural fragrance in the room with the fresh flowers decorated in all corners of the room, the bed and the washroom.... everything was charming. Wifi was only in the lounge area/common...so you could not stay cooped up in your place all day...n if you happen to go in Jan/Feb, that's just great coz it will get a little pleasantly chilly at late evenings ...n just breathing in that fresh clean air was amazing! The buffet spread includes live cooking counter and is quite varied...not exceptionally varied for vegetarians but overall a good spread. I would love to go back n just be there a few days n slack in the beauty in that still and clear clean quiet. There is also an ayurvedic centre within the premises for those interested.... I would suggest, it's worth a try and the prices are pretty good too.

There are many types of breakfast, and the taste is quite satisfactory. It is not particularly prominent. Extra bed, INR 1300, plus a set of toiletries for the extra bed. The environment is particularly good, located on the edge of the lake, the scenery is very beautiful, especially when you enter the hotel door, it is the best resort hotel. The room is a separate cabin, the bathroom is very large, it feels very good, it can be said that it is the best hotel for family and children. The staff is very friendly and there is no discrimination against the Chinese. The hotel is dominated by Western tourists and there are relatively few Chinese tourists. The only regret is that the buffet at the dinner did not provide drinks, and even the mineral water had to be bought separately. It was not kind.

Because Ctrip's mistakes led to the original hotel did not stay successfully, so booked here, the environment is really good, there are swimming pools, but there are many bugs in the room, and the lights will flash for a long time, to re-open, very much in the middle of the night It is terror. I'm a frequent traveler and I was tempted to try out this hotel as I came across one of their offers. I called the hotel and checked their availability and placed a temporary booking. Then I confirmed the offer and made the payment and requested them to send the booking confirmation. I had been trying for 3 days to get a booking confirmation from them!!! But still had NO success. I travel a quite a lot and sending a booking confirmation is a matter of few minutes usually. I was surprised why it is taking them days to send a simple booking confirmation. I have made more than 10 calls over the past 3 days to ask for the booking. Also, to my surprise I found that the last few calls made to the landline were intentionally picked up and cancelled. (This is a FIRST in many of my travels). Also, I had the feeling that the first female agent who picked up the reservation was clueless. She was not good in her English, so I spoke to her in Sinhalese. Whenever I inquired about the booking she will reply saying it will be sent shortly. But it never came in the first 3 days. What a waste of time! Finally on the fourth day another reservation executive picks up the call and sends me a booking for a different set of days. I tried to call and ask them to correct it. But the hotel never picked up any of their phones. So i finally decided to cancel the booking. I'm sure they have made a Blunder somewhere!!! hence this reaction! I have seen hotels make mistakes before but the quality hotels always try to make amends and will usually try to check with the customer and correct it. This is a good sign of the lack of quality and lack of training of the staff. If the staff is this negligent and rude even prior to your arrival, I'm glad I didn't go there to find out!
