Booked the Danbulak Kandalam Heritage Hotel, but later said the hotel was full, let ’s change the hotel, changing the hotel we wanted before the trip was really uncomfortable at first, then Ctrip let us choose the hotel ourselves because of time I was nervous when I chose the water garden hotel, but I did n’t have much hope, but the staying experience was very good, the rooms are comfortable, the environment is quiet, you can overlook the Lion Rock. Returned the difference to me, very good hotel, added points for my trip to Sri Lanka, thanks

Francisco Javier Gonzalez ManzanoJust a short walk from the bus stop, this gem of a guesthouse is hands down the best place to stay in Sri Lanka. The owner goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, always offering help and thoughtful advice. He even arranged for a local tuk-tuk driver at a very reasonable price, ensuring I had the best experience exploring the area. Every afternoon, he would check in and offer a delightful cup of tea, making the stay feel extra special.
His wife’s cooking is an absolute highlight—breakfast was not just delicious but prepared with so much care, adding a homely touch to every meal. The room itself was super clean, big, and incredibly comfortable. From start to finish, they both made me feel completely at home. I can say this was the best accommodation I experienced during my time in Sri Lanka, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a truly memorable and comfortable stay.

A lovely homestay this. Staff are very helpful to guests in assisting for tuktuk rides early for sunrise or organizing safari tours. The free breakfast was great too, as was the traditional rice & curry requested at dinner time. The location is great, plus it's a lovely environment to relax on a hammock with a can of Lion after a long day.

Guest UserAbsolutely fantastic rooms with great views and an attentive service staff. Place wasn't without issues, though. It is very much a tourist trap hotel, and the entire region just gives off vibes of a giant tourist trap. I felt shuffled around within the hotel itself. My room was a bit close to the lobby/bar area, and the noise was insufferable. Had serious issues getting to sleep before midnight. And the great bathtub that looked out over the lake and had the monkeys that would come up to the window? The way the shower head and faucet were located, it was impossible to shower or fill up the tub without getting the entire room soaked in water. I was looking forward to hours soaking in the tub and reading, but there wasn't any dry surface to keep a book or cell phone on. Also annoyed me that dinner wasn't served until 7. Nothing about the place made it easy for early to bed, early to rise people.
Enjoyed the breakfast they served. Loved the views from basically any window in the hotel. The little bar was great, with some decent drinks and just the friendliest of staff. If I were ever to come back to the region, I'd stay here again for sure, I'd just ask for a room further from public spaces.

Point to note - the hotel is literally in the jungle. It’s remote. You’ll feel bugs and insects, so walk with a repellent, but I think it is a wonderful experience.

Great place to stay if you want to explore the lions rock and the area around. Pidurangala rock is only 15min away by tuk tuk, the lions rock can be done by walk (~20min walk to entrance). But the best experience was the kindness of the hosts. The helped us in every way (explaining routes, advices on activities, organizing tuk tuk, etc.). The food was amazing and we had a lot of interesting conversations with the friendly stuff. Special thanks to Daushna, Larush & Nimal for making our stay remarkable.

The villa in Sinhajiri, located in the western province of Sigiriya (English name: Green Hut Nature Resort), is accurately said to be a Sri Lankan house, the location is a bit biased, completely rural feeling. The yard is very large, there is a swimming pool inside, a variety of fruit trees such as mangoes, guavas, and other flowers and plants, the internal environment is more beautiful.
The owner and workers of the homestay are very friendly. The room is quite large, but the facilities are relatively simple, there is a general cooling effect of air conditioning, the room and supplies feel basically clean and hygienic, the bed is large and comfortable, bath towels are provided, no quilt or quilt is a thin sheet (This is the least used thing in Sri Lanka), also do not provide toothbrush, toothpaste, comb slippers and other supplies. Breakfast is custom-made, belonging to the British bar, there are omelets, bread, fruit, milk tea, etc. Due to the remote location, I ordered dinner at the hotel on the night of the stay. Fried rice and fried noodles (Sri Lankan noodles seem to be rice noodles) tasted good. The walls of the dining room are decorated with various texts, including Chinese.
Overall, the location of this homestay is a bit biased, no car is not convenient to travel, other than the service, environment, etc. are actually good, very close to nature.

In general, we were satisfied with our stay at the hotel despite the heavy rains.
The attention of the staff is felt.When you check in - a drink, and the room is waiting for a fruit plate, which is very pleasant.
Beautiful large area, with a classy pool,pleasant rooms.
In the room, a separate shower and a separate toilet.
Beds are not very comfortable and pillows.No blanket,just a bed.Most of the roses in the old-fashioned room,they are not suitable for the crossovers.
Food:Dinner and breakfast-Swedish table.Choice is good,not all delicious,but you can find something to eat and not stay hungry.We had dinner included-he on the menu.It was provided on the day of departure,because on the day of arrival we didn't have time.The dinner was very much liked, restaurant dishes, good servings. Still satisfied.
Excellent price-quality ratio.

The room was spacious and even provided disposable toiletries. It was quiet at night. The room also had a key card for electricity, and the air conditioning and fan were on as soon as you entered, making it very comfortable. Breakfast was a Sri Lankan breakfast option, which was quite plentiful.
