Staff are generally nice and helpful. Most of them can be communicated with English which makes our stay easier.
There are two hot spring site inside the hotel with one on the ground floor (1/F) and one on the top floor (5/F). One thing to note is there is no towel provided inside the hot spring changing room. You have to bring the towel inside your room to the hot spring site - and bring it back to your room if you plan to enjoy the hot spring 2nd time. This arrangement is not familiar for me as when I visited other hotel, they usually have more than enough towel for replacement at the changing room.
There is a room for kids to play and stay and it is great from family with kids. My kids also enjoy the welcome food very much (lots of donuts and cookies!)
The dinner for my package was Kaiseki-style. Since me and my family stayed for two nights, it is good that they have designed different meals for two nights! The beef is great I have to say. The staff will try their best to briefly introduce what the dishes were. We have the dinner in the restaurant so it may be a bit crowd and noisy to some people. From other tables I can see there is option for hotpot or even crabs! Re-checked with hotel's official web-site there are more choice on the dinner menu. Regarding the dinner menu choice, I did not find it when I order through Trip.com (maybe my bad), so it will be better if Trip.com can optimize the website outlook to make it more noticeable (I think this opinion applied to all other similar type Japanese hotel which provide high quality dinner).
When you arrive Kawaguchiko train/bus station, you can go to the Tourist center there (just turn right when you leave the station, it is at another building) and ask the staff there help to call the hotel for the pick-up. Similary, when you check-out, you can talk with the front-desk staff and arrange the shuttle-bus back to the station.

Amazing experience!
Our first stay in this area has been perfect (even tho we didn't really get to see Mt.Fuji in full glory). We hotel staff are all extremely nice and polite, the food buffet is delicious (especially sushi and beef steak) + there's a wide selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
My first onsen visit was very relaxing and not scary at all - with 4 pools you can have a bit of privacy. The visual of hot steam against the dark sky will remain in my memory for a long time.
The hotel offers transportation to and from station, or you can just walk there in like 10 mins. The location of the hotel is super - the buses stop just outside of the hotel and you can walk to some attractions (appare boat, Herb museum etc.)

I recently stayed at the Royal Hotel Kawaguchiko and had a pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent—it’s conveniently close to Lake Kawaguchi and offers easy access to local attractions and transportation. The highlight, however, was the stunning view of Mount Fuji from my room. Waking up to that iconic view was absolutely breathtaking and made my stay unforgettable.
The room itself was quite old but well-maintained. While the decor felt a bit dated, everything was clean, functional, and comfortable. The space was adequate, and the upkeep showed that the hotel takes pride in maintaining its facilities.
I opted for the half-board meal plan, and the food was decent. The dinner and breakfast offerings were varied, with Japanese options. While not gourmet, the meals were satisfying and provided good value for the price.
The public onsen was another highlight of my stay. It was clean, relaxing, and offered a peaceful way to unwind after a day of exploring. The soothing hot springs with a view of the surrounding nature added to the overall experience.
Overall, the Royal Hotel Kawaguchiko is a solid choice for those looking for a comfortable stay with a fantastic view of Mount Fuji, decent meals, and a relaxing onsen experience. While the rooms could use a modern update, the cleanliness and maintenance make up for it. I would definitely consider staying here again!

BBo KeiWe stayed in the hotel for two nights and had already informed the receptionist when we checked in that two friends would come visit on the next day where they stayed in another hotel closer to FujiQ. When our friends came, one of their staff blocked our way and accusing us that we had more people staying than we booked in an unfriendly, rude and arrogant manner as if he was a cop and caught us did something bad. We explained to him in both English and Japanese translation that our friends were just here visiting. We showed him their other hotel booking confirmation but he said no guests were allowed to come visit in any hotel and this is their some Japan hotels authority’s rule! We asked him proof of such rules which of course there isn’t any. No proper apologies and poor attitude remains from that staff. Very bad experience with the staff here. Other than that, the hotel property and facilities were great.
AAutumnLeafThis is by far the best hotel I've stayed in Japan. Hospitality, cleanliness and food were perfect. Best value for a all-inclusive onsen resort by the lake.
Staff were friendly and attentive. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we felt welcomed and well taken care of during our stay. They received us from the carpark and got our baggage for us. When we left, they made sure to carry our luggage to the car.
Rooms and the guest onsen were clean, big and spacious, with propery air-conditioning and heating. It also has a good view of mount Fuji from the room balcony (though unfortunately it was raining for the 2 days which I was there)
The food was amazing as well, there were so many choices and we were left stuffed after both dinner and breakfast.
Would highly recommend anyone this all inclusive hotel if you have the chance.
DDayamirAnother nice hotel we stayed in is here Hotel Route Inn. Everything was great. View frm our room is magnificient. And the best thing is they have a private onsen that u can use with a fee. And very affirdable too!! Every staff is so helpful and polite. 🥰
GGuest UserThe hotel is nestled in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area. We stayed 3 nights in a room facing the lake with a magnificent view of Fuji-san. A van provides shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko station. The restaurant is not operational hence we either ate outside or bought food back from Lawson/7-11. Hotel staff were friendly and attentive, and there were Mandarin-speaking staff. We miss it very much even though we are now in Hoshino Amoriya, which speaks a lot about the Kumonoue Fuji!
GGuest UserHotel Regina Kawaguchiko exceeded all expectations. The stunning views of Mount Fuji and the cozy, well-maintained rooms were perfect. What truly stood out was the outstanding service from the Chinese-speaking receptionist—his warmth and attention to detail made our trip extra special. A memorable and exceptional stay!
LLiechienMy recent stay at Villa Yumefuji Kawaguchiko was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the stunning surroundings of Kawaguchiko with breathtaking views.
The villa itself is a perfect blend of traditional Japanese architecture and modern amenities. The rooms are spacious, elegantly designed, and offer panoramic views..
The staff at Villa Yumefuji Kawaguchiko were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and memorable. Their attention to detail and personalized service truly set this villa apart.
One of the highlights of my stay was the private onsen (hot spring) available at the villa. Soaking in the warm waters was a truly rejuvenating experience.
Overall, Villa Yumefuji Kawaguchiko exceeded all my expectations and provided me with a truly unforgettable stay. I highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a luxurious and authentic Japanese experience in Kawaguchiko.”
GGuest UserI loved the panoramic view of Mt Fuji from the onsen. Breakfast is kaiseki and some people would not be as accustommed towards such cuisine. Breakfast in my opinion not bad.
LLMOOLMMy second stay with them in 2 years! Once you arrive at Kawaguchiko station, head to tourist information centre to get them to call the ryokan to pick you up. The ride is 5mins! The walk itself is about 10mins but hilly. You wouldnt want to do that with luggages in tow.
The room is very clean and has great view of Lake Kawaguchiko. Our stay came with breakfast and dinner. Dinner was great! Most items were delicious. Breakfast is buffet style and pretty average.
Their private and female onsen have views of mt Fuji!
AAnonymous UserA great hotel to stay if you want to have non-crowded onsen experience. Has smoking room on each floor, drawers filled with yukata, hair brush, cotton buds etc available on each floor as well. Upon reaching Kawaguchiko Station, you can use a pay phone and call the hotel to send someone to pick and send you to the hotel.
GGuest UserExcellent location, just a few minutes walk from Kawaguchiko Station. The room was spacious with a tatami bed and a bunk bed, it can comfortably sleep 3 people. There is also an air purifier in the room. The bathroom and toilet are shared, they are spotless.
