Good
MMoeshouseStayed here as I came for Glasgow coffee festival at The Bridgate. The hotel was a 5 minute walk away venue. 1 minute away from a Tesco, a Nando’s and a bunch of bars.
Staff were accommodating, kind and instructed well.
If ask them how to adjust aircon in your room, and don’t have the breakfast here. It’s not great making it terrible value for money.
Food and coffee recommendations: Sylvan, Wilson street pastry, through the door.
GGuest UserFriendly waiter/bar staff in Steven. Beer - very good. Ambience very good. Ate out for dinner. Heating in room very erratic, only works when cars in. So room cold on return. Disabled room, bathroom door opens right out into room and moves fast with no stopper, middle of the night I head butted door on opening it as it swung away. No lasting damage done but a bit dangerous. Partner said bathroom freezing during night.
Breakfast bang average - no traditional Scottish tattie scones, no scrambled egg and fried eggs are white of an uncooked type. Despite asking twice for a flipped fried egg - same white silicone esque rubber circle. Defo not edible. Waiter rude to my partner when asked about replacement. Clearly no frying facilities being used. The milk of which I had a glass of was the wateriest milk and most unpleasant taste - was it Uht? Or powdered with water added? Baked beans and sausages very tasty. No HP or Heinz sauces. Some of bread poor quality. Coffee from a work style urn. Not very modern.
Parking overpriced and car which had been washed prior to arriving was filthy on departure with a brown layer of dirt on it.
I note that website chooses to mention under Historic Sites: Hampden Park and Celtic Park: 4.0mi | 14 min drive
Funny that Ibrox Stadium - with the iconic Main Stand which is closer than the above is not given a mention. Bigotry alive in well in the hotel establishment management.
Won’t be returning or recommending.
SSmittyGood location but lots of roadworks taking place around hotel, Checking fairly easy, Room location as requested, found beds uncomfortable and no pillow support, insufficient towels for number of guests and no shower caps, , Insufficient teas /milk for guests. Room could have been cleaner had to move bed to locate dropped earning. and it was needing a, hoover., lack of tables at breakfast wanted to seat us in bar. If you have mobility issues not good if you want a cup of tea and have to bend down to floor to locate cups. Had to ask fir paper cup as three cups dirty. Despite this we enjoyed our stay.
LLisaThe hotel was clean and the room was spacious. The room was an accessible room but I found the toilet was too close to a small sink which was there as an accessible sink. But the tap didn’t work in the sink!! Therefore if someone using a wheelchair was in that room they would not be able to use a sink as the normal sink is to high and to far away; and it is not possible to sit forward properly on the toilet!
Only one lift working and this slowed down during our stay.
I wasn’t impressed with the staff who worked the breakfast shift. Out of the 3 young ladies working alongside the hot plate, only 1 had her her tied up above her shoulders. The others hair was in a tie but brought forward over their shoulders. This is not appropriate in a food area. The breakfast choice was great, lots of choices and plenty of it.
The location was splendid, very central to most things that we wanted to see in the 2 days we were there.
Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly especially the deputy Manager, he assisted with freezing ice packs to keep insulin cold for my friend. Unfortunately there were no fridge facility in the room, which for the Hilton group I feel is rather bad service.
I would use this hotel again due to the location and price.
SSapphirexIbis Styles Glasgow Central is a good location to stay should you intend to layover in Glasgow. It's about 10 minutes walking distance from Glasgow Central Station and within 15 minutes from fast food eateries and shopping places. Rooms are clean and basic amenities are provided for. Breakfast is good and incorporates a mix of international and English cuisines.
HOWEVER, I have had a bad experience regarding a certain payment. I booked this hotel via Trip.com and have prepaid for my stay. When I checked in on 17/7, I was told by the receptionist of that day that my card details were needed. I was assured that there would be no deduction performed and that the details were only required should there be incurred damages in my room during the stay. Yet, on the same day evening, I received a notification that 143 pounds had been deducted. I questioned the receptionist of that day and was reassured, and I quote: ”There was this transaction made to confirm that your card is not a dunce and is payable.”
The next day, before checking out, I reconfirmed with the receptionist of that day (18/7) if the money would be refunded to me. After checking on their end, they said that the money will be refunded. This morning (19/7), I have just received another notification that the status of the 143-pounds transaction has changed from pending to approved. I am disappointed and upset regarding this, and I would like to urge future travellers to be wary of this incident.
GGuest UserGood location in close proximity to fast food outlets should you arrive late you can grab something to eat irs very close to Buchanan bus staion if you're heading out to other cities by coaxh.
From bath street, the hotel is easily accessible straight up the hill on your left
BBee HoonWe stayed during Christmas season and there was a Xmas market next door. The hotel is spacious and all the necessary facilities, including kitchen and washing machine are provided.
CChariceThe location is really nice, it’s near the Winterfest Market (Christmas Market). Only for 5 minutes walk. The bed is clean and private. Shower room is also very clean. The only disadvantage is the pub next to the hostel, it played the music loud until midnight. For me it was fine, but for someone who need absolutely quiet space will be the problem.
GGuest UserGreat location, staff excellent, clean rooms, free parking (most of the hotels in the centre don’t have parking or you have to pay a fortune) we didn’t eat at the hotel but they do have an area where you can eat your own food and they offer free hot drinks.
AAndy.12The ubication is good close to the train station, just they can improve the Customer service i call many times before to arrive and they never answer.
