Great
BBeth.oWe had stayed here for two nights, I can't comment on the food/drink as we went out as most places were a short walk away. The location was very good with being a short walk to Glasgow Central train station and city centre.
Reception staff were friendly checking in, however the room we were given had not been cleaned... Went back to reception and they had apologised and changed our room with a slight upgrade.
This room was immaculate and all the amenities gave it that little bit extra luxurious touch; use of a cosy white robe, slippers, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. I loved the sustainability efforts with their toiletries being plant based and vegan friendly! The bathroom had a rain shower with really good pressure and easily enough to control and a bathtub.
The only cons were there was a small towel rail in the bathroom which was a slight struggle to fit them on to dry.
The TV in the bedroom area did not work and we only found this out on our last night.
There was only one lift operating and the other one was out of service, so best to leave anywhere in plenty of time.
MMikeVLCIf you are looking for a city centre location, this is ideal although the immediate area tends to attract a number of youngsters in an evening, whilst there is a beer garden opposite. Staff were excelent, check-in was quick. Room was large and facilities for making light meals were very good. However, the room lacked a little TLC... the shaving mirror would not hold any fixed position other than facing the floor whilst the shower support pillar came away on the first morning.... this was clearly not the first time. Maintenance did a repeat of the previous repair which lasted one day. Fixed it temporarily myself with a sticking plaster which worked perfectly well for the remainder of our visit and may possibly still be there!
AAzeem ManishLovely room with a really nice shower. Breakfast was not the best but I’d recommend this hotel to anyone else who needs a cozy place to stay.
GGuest UserFriendly waiter/bar staff in Steven. Beer - very good. Ambience very good. Ate out for dinner. Heating in room very erratic, only works when cars in. So room cold on return. Disabled room, bathroom door opens right out into room and moves fast with no stopper, middle of the night I head butted door on opening it as it swung away. No lasting damage done but a bit dangerous. Partner said bathroom freezing during night.
Breakfast bang average - no traditional Scottish tattie scones, no scrambled egg and fried eggs are white of an uncooked type. Despite asking twice for a flipped fried egg - same white silicone esque rubber circle. Defo not edible. Waiter rude to my partner when asked about replacement. Clearly no frying facilities being used. The milk of which I had a glass of was the wateriest milk and most unpleasant taste - was it Uht? Or powdered with water added? Baked beans and sausages very tasty. No HP or Heinz sauces. Some of bread poor quality. Coffee from a work style urn. Not very modern.
Parking overpriced and car which had been washed prior to arriving was filthy on departure with a brown layer of dirt on it.
I note that website chooses to mention under Historic Sites: Hampden Park and Celtic Park: 4.0mi | 14 min drive
Funny that Ibrox Stadium - with the iconic Main Stand which is closer than the above is not given a mention. Bigotry alive in well in the hotel establishment management.
Won’t be returning or recommending.
JJJ2025Another great stay. Housekeeping turned up at 10am which was disappointing cause check out isn’t till 12pm, so made me feel a bit rushed to get out. Heaters in room don’t stay above 26c even though the dial goes to 32c and me being naturally cold meant I woke up quite a bit during the night as the room wasn’t warm enough.
Highly recommend the hotel, great staff and great pool with Steam room and gym. Only real disappointing thing about the hotel is breakfast is like £18 and I’m not a big breakfast person just toast and coffee so it ain’t worth it for me I think there should be a cheaper option for light eaters.
BBee HoonWe stayed during Christmas season and there was a Xmas market next door. The hotel is spacious and all the necessary facilities, including kitchen and washing machine are provided.
AAlexFirstly our booking wasn’t confirmed so we had to wait until the communication between yourselves and Ibis Styles was rectified secondly there had been a disturbance in the Hotel , nothing to do with us , and the Police were knocking on our door at 5am in the morning , this was very scary and very upsetting. This incident spoiled our full weekend.
SSapphirexIbis Styles Glasgow Central is a good location to stay should you intend to layover in Glasgow. It's about 10 minutes walking distance from Glasgow Central Station and within 15 minutes from fast food eateries and shopping places. Rooms are clean and basic amenities are provided for. Breakfast is good and incorporates a mix of international and English cuisines.
HOWEVER, I have had a bad experience regarding a certain payment. I booked this hotel via Trip.com and have prepaid for my stay. When I checked in on 17/7, I was told by the receptionist of that day that my card details were needed. I was assured that there would be no deduction performed and that the details were only required should there be incurred damages in my room during the stay. Yet, on the same day evening, I received a notification that 143 pounds had been deducted. I questioned the receptionist of that day and was reassured, and I quote: ”There was this transaction made to confirm that your card is not a dunce and is payable.”
The next day, before checking out, I reconfirmed with the receptionist of that day (18/7) if the money would be refunded to me. After checking on their end, they said that the money will be refunded. This morning (19/7), I have just received another notification that the status of the 143-pounds transaction has changed from pending to approved. I am disappointed and upset regarding this, and I would like to urge future travellers to be wary of this incident.
GGuest UserI have lived in Glasgow for over 50 years. This is my return visit to my home City. I was pleasantly surprised to find this R hotel recommended by Trip.com.
It's totally a new and interesting experience of staying in such a cool place. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The travellers I met these few days were all interesting people ranging from a elderly couple from Argentina, two French ladies, one Californian and mainland Chinese from QinDao. They all have exciting stories. I was fascinated in getting to know them in such a welcoming hotel setting.
I really enjoyed the new of staying over in a hustle and bustling city and found the Revolver a good hiding place not to mention the facilities provided on the roof top including sauna and spa. Excellent quiet and sunny place. I enjoyed my solitude up there!
Thanks to Kier, one of the receptionists for his wealth of travel experience. He is my new 'Malaysian' country man. Hi! buddy, keep up the good work together with your colleagues. Your services are highly recommended.
With appreciation of the genuine welcome 🤗
I will be back. Incidentally I missed my flight home yesterday. So I returned after checking out!! It shows my liking of the Revolver. Well done!
GGuest UserWe booked a stay here for one night to take in a show at the Oran Mor in the west end of Glasgow. The hotel has an overall lived in appearance and could do with a spruce up. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was very small but clean. The bed was very uncomfortable. The electronic lock on the door wouldn’t work properly and needed several attempts to allow it to open. The room was quite warm so we slept with the window open, that was until we were woken by the horrific smell of someone smoking ***** either from an adjacent room or outside accompanied by the shouting and screaming of drunks until the early hours. A very uncomfortable stay all in all.
