Lindrin Lodge

Lindrin lodge was a perfect choice for our stay before starting our trek to Mount Kilimanjaro. As part of a group, the lodge was recommended to us by our tour operator that also organized our climb and safari afterwards. We booked with Tanzania Horizon Safaris and everything was arranged perfectly. The reception at Lindrin Lodge was super friendly and quick, even though we arrived very late everything was fast and efficient. We truly enjoyed our stay and the nice houses and the swimming pool. It's a great choice for a short stay and the nice service makes the difference!

Lindrin Lodge was a great hotel for us to start our journey in Africa. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was good, and all the staff were amazing. I especially want to give a shout out to my main man Edward. He gave me some crucial advice to lead the charge at Mount Kilimanjaro. “I can. I must. I will”.

The staff are wonderful ( Collins & Leila deserve a special mention ) came up with solutions when I was getting stressed about the internet connection for work, and from a single picture on the internet the exact pair of Salomon shoes in a UK6 was found in the most random shop in Moshi !!!! I still can't believe it. My room was big & airy with a comfortable bed and great power shower in the bathroom, lovely grounds and the food served extremely tasty and varied. Would be very happy to stay here again.

This was my favorite lodge in our three weeks of travel through Africa. We were lucky to get some clear views of Kilimanjaro during our stay. Many of the other guests were either getting ready to climb Kili or just returning from their trek. There's lots of pleasant outdoor seating so fun to talk with others about their experiences. On Sunday night, they served dinner outside and had a wonderful band. The rooms were clean, spacious and fairly new and everything functioned properly. Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly and accommodating. The location is outside of Moshi a bit, but close proximity to Kilimanjaro and game drives.

Lindrin Lodge looks after the comings and goings of the Kili trekkers efficiently and without fuss. The front desk (Brenda), dining room (Edward, Judy and Martin) and housekeeping (Harriett) were all excellent. They have a locker room to leave luggage in during your hike, and a lovely swimming pool to cool off in. A highlight was the dancing under the moonlight on the grass to live music at the end of the hike

I do not recommend this place for before/after a Kili climb. The wifi just simply did not work at all for the majority of the time i was there (two nights before my climb and one night a week later after my climb). I was very disappointed to not be able to talk to my family or share pictures or look anything up. The shower in the room i stayed in first turned freezing cold after a few minutes and never warmed up again, it also had no pressure and you had to push your body against the bath tub spout to be under the stream. The shower in the second room had the same low pressure problem, but randomly the pressure did turn on in the middle of the shower. Maybe only a few people can shower at a time, im not sure. (I know about showers that have pressure or heat but not both, im used to using the wall-mount shower heaters, this was not user-error). Food was plain bad. You can get chicken and chips on the street for way way cheaper in Moshi than you can at this hotel... if you have local currency and can catch a motorcycle by yourself from the street. This place is not that close to moshi town. If you dont have local currency or dont feel comfortable, you will pay nearly triple regular prices for food that is not good (seriously how do you mess up chips). If your about to climb kili, dont stay here unless you can get to a restaurant. There are hotels in moshi for cheaper with better wifi and way way better showers, its not the case that you cant find those in Moshi. The hotel will not call you a taxi to visit an atm or to go to the airport if you book through a kili climb company. They have some kind of arrangement where they are not allowed to help you find a taxi because the tour company wants you to pay way above market prices to use their driver. You can ofc walk down the street and catch a motorcycle if you can speak swahili. If you want a long hot shower or to post your pictures on instagram or to enjoy a meal after your kili climb dont stay here.

I stayed at Lindren Lodge before and after my Kilimanjaro trek. A lovely small quiet hotel with pleasant grounds to relax. I was travelling solo. The 2 nights I stayed before my trip, I was placed in a small single room with en-suite (but the bed was definitely a spacious double). When I returned after my trek I had been placed in a very spacious single room with a four poster bed. Both rooms were very clean. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the food good. I wished I’d booked more than one night after my trek as it was the perfect place to recover and relax.

I stayed at the Lindrin lodge before my Kili hike. The surrounding is beautiful and from the back garden you can glimpse Kilimanjaro (if it's not in clouds), has a lot of seating area to hang around and have a beer. The lodge is outside of town and just a great place to relax after the long flight and before your next trip. There is a little pool to refresh as well. They serve food as well, it's delicious and for good price (lunch for $10 and dinner buffet for $15). Drinks for $1. The rooms are spacious, each has own entrance from the garden (they are like little huts) and beds comfortable. The hot shower is working as well. I booked the lodge through my Kili operator (Ascend Tanzania) and it was much cheaper than the price on *********** so take it into consideration as well. They have a huge luggage room to store your big luggage during your hike. You register your luggage in a list and can be picked up only against signature. It's very safe there and the ladies at the reception and the restaurant employees are all very kind and helping.
