Stayed in the old city hotel, but also lived in a full of human touch
July 10 is my birthday. I purchased a three-day and two-night double room package at the Old City Hotel, Yanguan Chaole City Scenic Area, in advance in Trip.com , and the check-in time is from July 10 to 12. When booking, I specially noted ”pregnant woman” and ”birthday”, I did not expect the hotel not only saw the news, but also prepared a series of warm surprises for me.
Before departure, the hotel housekeeper Acheng took the initiative to contact me to confirm the check-in message, sent the accurate positioning of the scenic parking lot, and also asked me if I needed to prepare a stomach pillow. For people traveling during pregnancy, these seemingly small arrangements will really make people feel at ease.
After arriving at the scenic spot, a staff member immediately helped carry the luggage and guided us all the way to the hotel front desk to check in. The original booked double room was upgraded to a family suite for free. When I opened the door, I was really surprised: the bed was decorated with ”Happy Birthday” birthday decorations, the bedside was dotted with colorful balloons, and even the cute black bean eyes on the baby elephant towel and rabbit towel were attached, which seemed particularly flexible.
There are also two handwritten messages on the bedside table. Every intention I received along the way made me feel that I was seriously remembered, and the sense of ritual and emotional value of my birthday suddenly filled up, which was completely pleasantly surprised.
After settling down, the fatigue of the journey slowly poured up, and I took a nap first. The belly pillow prepared in advance was immediately useful, so that the pregnancy stay also had a feeling of convenience and comfort like at home.
After waking up, I found that Acheng had introduced the scenic spot in detail in WeChat, recommended me a play project suitable for experience, and also told me that if you are tired after walking, you can contact the hotel to arrange a shuttle bus to take me back to rest. This sentence may be a service reminder for ordinary tourists, but for me who travel during pregnancy, it does relieve a lot of worries.
The scenic spot is very special project is an immersive large-scale script tour. Many task crews are distributed throughout the scenic spot to play NPC, guiding tourists to participate in the plot. The whole process has a strong sense of interaction, adults and children can join, not people feel naive, but it is easy to immerse in it, it is worth experiencing.
After a period of play, I suddenly felt a little physically unable to help, so I contacted Acheng and hoped to take the shuttle bus back to the hotel. Unfortunately, the location I was in was surrounded by small roads, and the shuttle bus could not drive directly in.
I understand that I originally planned to rest in place for a while and then walk back to the hotel slowly. After all, the distance is not far. I didn't expect Acheng to immediately put forward a new solution and asked if I could arrange a wheelchair to pick me up.
This service attitude, which is not rigid in the fixed process and immediately finds a way to solve problems, makes me very touched. The really good service is not only polite and enthusiastic, but also able to stand in the perspective of the guests, worry about the guests, think about the guests.
Affected by the typhoon weather, the trip was already prepared to spend most of the time in the hotel. Although the weather did not seem to be obvious on the morning of the 11th, the scenic spot has begun typhoon prevention arrangements in advance, cruise ships and bamboo rafts have been suspended, and small boats have been neatly fixed on the shore, swaying gently with the water.
That morning, we enjoyed the Hong Kong-style morning tea presented by the hotel, located on the second floor of Xingyueli near the hotel. After that, I also took a walk in the scenic spot, fed the fish in the Confucian Temple, bought a souvenir, and stamped a souvenir in Jinyong Book Cafe.
After receiving a call from Acheng at noon, I learned that due to the weather, most hotels in the scenic area will be temporarily closed in the afternoon, and the hotel will continue to receive guests.
Under the coordination of Acheng, we will transfer to the lead singer hotel in the scenic area (resort hotel) and upgrade to the electric sound bed room. When I packed my luggage and prepared to leave the old city hotel, I also received a gift from Acheng: fresh fruits and a few beautiful small toys.
Afterwards, a young lady at the front desk of the Old City Hotel accompanied us to the lead singer hotel throughout the process to assist in the follow-up check-in procedures. The whole transfer process was very smooth, and we didn't bother us much for temporary changes. Since the lead singer hotel did not prepare a belly pillow in advance, the Old City Hotel also specially sent the original belly pillow together.
The stay experience of the lead singer hotel is also very good, and it will not be discussed here.
During this trip, every hotel staff I met was like a microcosm of the human touch of Chaole City Scenic Area. From the active contact before check-in, to birthday arrangements and pregnancy care, to the coordination of placement in sudden weather, I feel that it is not only standardized hotel services, but also a sincere concern.
If you are also considering whether to stay at the Old Town Hotel, you may wish to refer to my real experience. If you have birthdays, parent-child, pregnancy travel or other special needs, you can communicate with the hotel in advance. I believe this group of serious and warm staff is also looking forward to the arrival of every guest.

Yanguan Chaolezhicheng Shuishi Hotel

During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, we took the kids to Yanguan to see the Qiantang River tidal bore. We chose this Haishi Hotel based on reviews, and it was a wonderful surprise! The hotel rooms were spacious, with balconies, exquisitely decorated, and the service was excellent! Located right at the entrance of the ancient city scenic area, hotel guests can enter and exit the area multiple times using facial recognition, or take a shuttle bus – very convenient! There's a restaurant called Guchengmen Restaurant downstairs; the reviews suggested the food was good, but it was too crowded, so we ate out instead. We'll try it again next time!

Yanguan Chaolezhicheng Themed Inn

There are not many people in the whole resort on weekends, so the experience is great. The small bridge is flowing, and the flowers and fish lights are quiet and interesting. The shuttle bus basically didn't wait very smoothly. The accommodation was upgraded to the lead singer hotel for free. The room was very spacious. The mini bar had free drinks. The window was a small river. Watching the fish swim in the water for a while, I felt that I could fish directly in the room. Unfortunately, the fish was in the car.
The most remarkable thing is the breakfast, very rich and tastes good.
If there is anything to be improved, one is that the water in the shower in the room can be bigger. Another is the episode that said that the system was remodeled that day. All restaurants in the scenic area could not scan the code to order. It was a bit messy before returning to liberation overnight. I forgot to serve us food and waited for a long time.

Yanguan Chaoyuezhicheng Shuiyin Homestay

Location: Just a 3-5 minute walk from the scenic area entrance and the Tide Wall.
Since Shuiyin Inn and Dengying Inn are part of the Shuishi Hotel chain, check-in and check-out must be done at the front desk of the adjacent Shuishi Hotel.
Price: Although located outside the scenic area entrance, it is also part of the scenic area chain. The room rate includes three tickets and unlimited shuttle bus rides, making it a very reasonable price.
Breakfast: Also served on the first floor of the Shuishi Hotel. Register your room (please specify which inn you are staying in), and meals are delivered according to the number of guests and in the order they are staying. The food is quite good, and the portions are quite generous (see Figure 5).
Facilities/Environment: As this is a newly built hotel-style inn, the facilities are comprehensive and the cleanliness is excellent.
The rooms in the official photos are identical to the actual rooms, and they even appear larger.
Being located outside the scenic area makes it very quiet at night, with only guests from three other hotels frequenting the area. The bedding and sleeping environment are also very good.
Areas for improvement (the kind where the flaws don't outweigh the advantages):
❶ The Shuiyin Family Room we stayed in didn't have a small refrigerator. I wonder if other rooms have them. A small refrigerator is quite necessary, especially during the summer, when there's an increasing demand for family rooms to store children's food or adults to keep cold drinks/food.
❷ The entrance to Shuiyin Inn is tucked away in a corner, and we initially thought we'd taken the wrong side door.
Instead of requiring time-consuming and laborious manual guidance (especially during peak holiday season), consider placing signage with images or text indicating important information like how to check in at the Shuishi Hotel to avoid confusion.
❸ The small door at Shuiyin Inn is accessible freely. A short walk away is the side gate for the neighboring residential complex, and we saw residents using electronic access cards to enter and exit directly.
Although the main gate is locked at night and is generally quite safe, it would be even more reassuring if Shuiyin Inn could install an electronic door (using room or work card). After all, as the scenic area becomes increasingly popular, this could be a safety concern.
In general, all the hotel staff are very warm and thoughtful, and their main feature is ”lively eyes”, and the overall experience is still very good.

GGuest UserThe stay was comfortable, the service was very good, and the boss’s private customized tide watching was really great. We unanimously gave it a five-star rating. It was not enough to watch it during the day, so we continued to get up in the early morning and let the boss take him to watch the night tide. Next time I come to Yanguan, I will definitely look for Boss Su, a professional tide watcher.

GGuest UserMy stay at this hotel was outstanding from beginning to end. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming, with staff who spoke excellent English and gave clear information about nearby attractions. The room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable, with a bed that provided excellent sleep quality after a long day of travel. The location is perfect—close to public transportation, good restaurants, and several scenic spots within walking distance. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in cleanliness and amenities (fresh towels, toiletries, bottled water daily). Breakfast offered a wide variety of both local and international options, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. Staff were always polite and quick to help, whether I needed directions or recommendations. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. It combines comfort, convenience, and great value, making the entire experience truly enjoyable. I would definitely return on my next trip.

GGuest UserAs a business hotel that can serve foreign guests, it is still good. I left the hotel early in the morning and did not experience more services. But the service staff had a good attitude and the guidance was easy to understand. I will book to stay here again if I have the chance.

ZZX442392****To be honest, it is very convenient to eat and drink around the hotel, but the hotel facilities are too old, the service is not in place, the TV can not be seen, the waiter said that the waiter will not, the boss is not there, the pillowcase is dilapidated and has a hole to change 3 times before it can barely be used, (forgot to take photos)
