The hostess Perfume is what made this an exceptional stay. Coming to her property was like visiting a family member. As soon as we walked in she started caring for us- feeding us, making sure we could take a shower after long travels and helping us book ANYTHING and EVERYTHING we needed. The weather happened to be good in Sapa for the next few days so she got us on a bus, arranged a guide and a homestay there and promised to take care of us at her property when we came back to Hanoi. She was always just a quick what's app message away. She was better than a concierge! I would stay at her property to make the connection alone.

I had booked a room here in advance, as I work online and hard some meetings those days. Also, have arranged a couple of tours attending to the location, to get the most of my time while in Hanoi. The day before arrival, they send me a message staying that they had to cancel the reservation. No explanations given, no options offered I had to spent my last evening in Cat Ba re organizing my trip. Couldn't find anything at the last minute for a reasonable price, so adding to the waste of time, It was in the end a waste of money. And they almost charged me 100% cancellation fees! Really awful customer service. If they are that way, I am Happy to have found another place, even paying more

To start, the owner Miss Nguyen Perfume is very accommodating and hospitable and very kind. The place is very homey. Room is very clean and spacious. This place you’ll feel safe and you’ll have a family away from the comfort of your home country. Thank you Miss Perfume! We are definitely coming back and tell your place to our friends! We are truly thankful for all your help! See you in Singapore soon!

Because of the host - Perfume, I really want to say we loved this place, but Perfume really is the only thing propping it up that is otherwise quite poor and massively over priced. Perfume is a truly lovely person. So kind and friendly and welcoming. She has a permanent smile and is always going above and beyond to help you out. She will put herself out just to help you however she can at no benefit to her. Because of her, I feel bad for the review but a wonderful person can't undo a bad hotel. The location is amazing. However, the rest of the hotel and stay is a bit of a disaster and at about £35 per night, it's unbelievably over priced. The rooms are very very bad. Botched paint work, bare wires, missing bulbs, broken shower, leaking sink, mouldy fridge, 1 pillow each, in desperate need of decorating. For £10 per night I've experienced much much better high quality stays, so £35 per night for these rooms is quite odd. When people smoke in the alleyway, the smoke comes straight up into the room. Currently (late december) they have building works next door that start before 8am and use industrial drills and lump hammers that vibrate through the room and with ear plugs in is still exceptionally loud. The host can turn your power off from outside the room so if you leave your work laptop plugged in uploading files whilst you go and get a coffee, you come back to your power having been isolated, laptop dead and failed upload for work. We were kindly invited to a family meal on Christmas day by our host, but she spent the whole meal shouting into her phone before excusing herself and leaving us at the table. The hot water doesn't last long enough for 2 people to shower. So you have to pick who showers at night and who showers in the morning. The WiFi router was actually inside our room and even still it was terrible. The wall mounted TV was non functional and looked like just a place to put the WiFi router on top of. The breakfast would be wonderful for 1 morning. But it's the same every day and you choose ONE of either eggs OR pho OR pancakes then you get coffee or juice etc. Once you've had 1 of each option for each morning, you're back to the beginning again. For some reason a vietnamese woman shouts, screams and cries almost every night just outside the hotel. The directions to the hotel are very weird and convoluted when actually it's so simple. Forget the weird alleyway stuff and the alternative number to get dropped off at. It's number 81C and you walk straight into the travel shop which is also the hotel.

like the location. It was a little walk from the old quarterS and other attractions such as the war museum or the train road. And the breakfast was also really nice. But must say the best part is definitely the family. They are all so lovely and helpful. The room was nice and clean. Good water pressure and good internet connection too No elevator and had the room in the 4th floor. And the neighboring building were doing Some renovation so it was a bit loud early in the morning

My favorite place to stay...anywhere. Superior service and hospitality. Perfume really takes care of her guests. She is honest and sincere, one of those people who thrives on taking care of others. The Homestay is located at the edge of the Old Quarter so it is a bit quieter than most, but it is a short walk to Train Street, great food, and the attractions of the Old Quarter. The rooms are not fancy, but quite adequate. It is the service and general friendliness that puts this place over the top.

So let me tell you about this place ! Those lady are simply the most welcoming person. They are so helpful, caring and welcoming. One of them speaks French and perfume as a very good English. They are helping with everything, they also can book some travel trip for you and often get some good prices. I was just asking a good place for pho soup and the lady told me "I can do for you" but she was offering and doesn't asked me to pay. Those kind of attention shows how nice they are. The room are big, the bed probably the biggest I never have seen. You'll have your own bathroom and AC in the room. They put WiFi routeur directly in the room so the connection is perfect. I found this place randomly but I'm so happy I booked there. I will definitely go back.
