We were very disappointed with our stay at the Empire Hotel Kowloon. The room was extremely small and poorly laid out, especially the bathroom, which was very cramped and impractical. The window was tiny, letting in barely any natural light, which made the room feel even more claustrophobic.
The furniture and building overall felt old and worn down, clearly in need of renovation. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the indoor pool — but to our surprise, it was closed for renovation during the peak summer season. This was not communicated clearly in advance, which felt misleading.
To make matters worse, the cleanliness in the bathroom was far from acceptable. Overall, this hotel does not live up to its price or rating. We would not stay here again.

Sub-par hotel that met the minimum requirements to reach '4-stars'. The bathroom didn't drain well and the pillows smelled of mould. The air-con temperature cannot be adjusted, only the fan speed. The journey to the gym and pool in itself is inefficient, requiring you to sign a form at reception (Ground floor), then having the staff accompany you to the lift so that they can scan their card to allow you access to the gym & pool floor (your own card does not allow access).
Almost all signs (including the restaurant) is in Chinese.

Room was pretty large for Hong Kong. Dated furnishing but can’t complain at this price point. Great location, had fun travelling round using the tram which is only a short walk away.
