The Southland Hotel is conveniently located on the southern tip of Hong Kong Island, offering excellent transport links. With multiple bus routes right at its doorstep, it's incredibly easy to get anywhere. A vibrant local neighborhood, popular with residents, is just a 7-8 minute walk away. The hotel itself is impeccably clean, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. All facilities are well-appointed, and many rooms even boast stunning sea views.

Compared to other hotels in the same area, this hotel offers excellent value for money, making it a prime choice for budget-conscious travelers. It's incredibly convenient for those visiting Ocean Park, being just one MTR stop away. Furthermore, Wong Chuk Hang MTR station, located nearby, features a shopping mall with various dining and retail options.
The rooms are quite spacious, perfect for celebrating special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries, with plenty of room for decorations.
The wall sockets are British standard (Type G), so guests from mainland China will need to bring an adapter. However, the room is equipped with two convenient USB charging ports.
A water dispenser is available just outside the lobby, allowing guests to easily refill their bottles.

This was my first time staying at the OP Marriott and it turned out to be a fantastic family weekend. Even with the Black rainstorm warning, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. I want to give a special shout-out to Simon Ng from the Front Office. He handled my check-in without a hitch and surprised me the next morning by recognizing me at breakfast venue. When we checked out, he personally came over to say goodbye and make sure we had a great stay. I know the hotel is a popular resort and can get busy, but Simon's service really stood out and exceeded my expectations. We also enjoyed the Thai-themed buffet dinner at the Pier Lounge and Pier Bar, and had some nice, relaxing time by the pool. Overall, it was a really pleasant stay and a great spot for a family weekend!

A minor cleanliness issue: I found a small bug on the cushion. Aside from that, everything else was great, and the service was excellent. They even provided a nice complimentary bag. The off-season price offered fantastic value for money. The surroundings are beautiful and very photogenic, perfect for Instagram-worthy shots. I'm generally very satisfied with my occasional visits here. The only real downside was that the pool had to be closed due to a thunderstorm warning, which was a shame!

Deducted two points for transportation and dining.
I visited during a 'black rain' warning, so I ended up staying in the hotel the whole time. The room size was adequate. The outdoor pool isn't big or deep, but perfectly fine for a casual swim. I was, however, oddly told not to take photos there, which I didn't understand. The gym is small, but sufficient for a quick workout while traveling.
There's a mall and a supermarket downstairs, but both felt quite deserted with very few food options. McDonald's was a lifesaver during those black rain days.
Transportation wasn't particularly convenient. It's a 10-15 minute bus ride to Kennedy Town, though a minibus stops right outside the hotel. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to IFC.

Exceeded expectations! Very new! Very clean!
The room is very large! There is a washer-dryer, microwave, and the public work area on the 3rd floor has a coffee machine, rice cooker, bread machine, induction cooker, etc.
The bed is also very comfortable! Although the location is a bit remote, it is only 2 subway stops away from Admiralty~
I will stay here again next time~

Very good experience, the room is much larger than other Hong Kong hotels of the same price, and the decoration is very new and the environment is quiet. The service is very good, there are surprises every day when I get home from get off work, and the front desk will help me call a taxi, which is very considerate. The restaurant in the hotel is also very good, with a high cost performance.

How to get there? Public transportation: Go to Lei Tung in South Island Line. Outside the station walk straight and you’ll see the 🚤 then walk to the left a little and you’ll find the boats to Aberdeen. 3 HKD cross by water 🛳 and in the other side to the left take bus 77 to the Caritas Station (8 minutes more)
Room: Big, apparently clean. But down the beds not that clean. No insects, nothing really wrong with the room 🥰 Peacefully.
Staff service: The guy (maybe the manager) arrogant. The rest of the staff, some try to be nice: a boy and a girl in the right side of the desk 🙏🏻👍, some others not that kind, they act as they are giving you the room for free or sth.

PPaulytsangI had a room with a good size, good aircon and electric curtains, open view of the Apleichau island , very friendly service ( staff refused any tipping for bringing luggage to the room) and helped me retain my Taobao and SF Express delivered goods. The best is a sun filled and spacious lounge on 7/F with simple cooking facilities and several tables and chairs . I asked my friends to come after a sumptuous seafood dinner on the island and cut a birthday cake in the Lounge. Everyone was so happy. I also managed to check out one hour later on my departure day to have a quick shower and shampoo. Staff then helped me called a taxi. Super happy stay and cannot recommend more !
