Holy Sheet Hostel

I arrived late at night and only stayed about 10 hours, as I had another hotel booked for the next day to meet up with friends. So, I can't really comment on the bathroom and such since I didn't use them. The hostel floor itself is nicely renovated and clean, but the building is old, and the room had a slightly stuffy smell. However, the guy at the front desk was kind, and the breakfast was really delicious, so the value for money was definitely good.

It's a very good living experience. Entering the door of the hostel is like entering another world. The elegant furniture and friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The only shortcoming is that the indoor network signal is poor, but I will still be happy to recommend this hostel to my friends, hoping that they will continue to maintain such a high cost performance!

A good hotel in central Cairo. Located on the 12th floor, there are elevators. Traffic noise is negligible. You can order breakfast or coffee from the rooftop café. My room (124) had a spacious balcony, a modern shower, a refrigerator, and a closet. The staff was helpful.

I had a wonderful stay at Cecilia Hostel! The location is perfect, right in downtown Cairo and close to everything — museums, the Nile, restaurants, and public transportation. It made exploring the city very easy. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was very cozy. Breakfast was simple but fresh and enough to start the day well. What truly made the experience special was the friendly and helpful staff. They were always smiling, ready to assist with tours, directions, and recommendations. Great value for money. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!

What drew me to this place was its proximity to the Egyptian Museum. However, the entrance is so small that it's quite difficult to find. The reception is on the second floor, and there's a cute, sleepy kitten there. The room itself was pretty good, and it even had a balcony. But the biggest downside was that our room was at a busy intersection, making it very noisy at night, which really disturbed our sleep. Breakfast required a wait, and there weren't enough seats. Eating in the room didn't feel very comfortable either. The gentleman on the first floor was incredibly diligent; he greeted us every time we came and went, helped us with the elevator, and carried our luggage. We're very grateful for his assistance.

The hotel is quite close to the Egyptian museum, The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean. The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly I didn't expect that he was invites me to the lunch together with them ** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn. Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice

City Hostel

In general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building. * Location & Transportation Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum. And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price. In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones. Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it. * Building and room conditions Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room. It is quite convenient a washstand in each room. However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler. It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel. * Cleanness & Safety Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this. * Services There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water. Wifi is too weak to use the internet. Other services like laundry are satisfied. * Others During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally. In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better. And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable. Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

I was so happy that they handled my late-night arrival so well. I was hoping to enjoy the cleanliness, which was unlike anything I'd seen in Egypt, but the one I'm currently dealing with... It's been a week since I bought it! Ever since I bought it, there's been something that's been bothering me.

When we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.

The room I was in had noise coming from outside 24 hours a day. I don't know about the other rooms, but if you are sensitive to noise, avoid this one.
