Dusit Thani Sandalwoods Resort Shuangyue Bay Huizhou

Enviornment: This was my first time at Dusit Thani Sandalwood Hotel. I found the hotel to be in an excellent location in Shuangyue Bay, with strong Thai-style decor, giving it a very resort-like feel. Service: We were traveling with two seniors this time and arrived quite early. I was worried we'd have to wait a long time to check in, but the front desk receptionist, Xiao Rui, provided exceptional service. Not only did she proactively upgrade our room type, but she also coordinated with her colleagues to prioritize cleaning our room so we could check in early. On the second day, she also helped us request a late check-out. Her attitude was superb and definitely deserves a thumbs-up! 👍 Our stay package included buffet breakfast and dinner. The restaurant's offerings exceeded expectations; the dishes were plentiful and tasted great. The dinner featured a flash mob dance performance, and the breakfast had freshly made rice noodle rolls, both of which were very popular. Restaurant Manager Shen Xia was very responsible, actively asking guests about their dining experience, and was very warm and hospitable. Hygiene: The upgraded 27th-floor sea-view room in Tianyi Building was very satisfying. The room had all the necessary amenities, with a plentiful supply of bottled water, a thoughtfully stocked mini-fridge with drinks, and eye masks, earplugs, mosquito repellent patches, and disposable bathtub liners all readily available. Manager Cai Guie proactively inquired about our stay experience and thoughtfully prepared drinks for us to enjoy on our way home. The package included access to the water park, infinity pool, shooting, archery, gym, table tennis 🏓, billiards, cinema… You can truly spend three days and two nights here without ever leaving the hotel 🙋🏻‍♀️! I will definitely come again if I have the chance!

The service was quite good. On the day of check-in, my bag was accidentally taken by another guest, but they quickly reviewed the surveillance footage and found it. Their efficiency was commendable. As long as it's sunny, the sea is blue.

I made a last-minute decision to travel and compared this hotel with the Howard Johnson Hotel next door. I'm glad I chose the Howard Johnson Tianli. Upon check-in, they proactively upgraded my room. Both the hotel's buffet dinner and breakfast were excellent. The restaurant staff, especially Zeng Peijuan (as requested by the staff, I'm noting her name), even offered to pack some bread for us to eat on the road. Before checking out, the cleaner, Cai Guie, also gave us some drinks. I highly recommend this hotel for families with kids. The hotel's slide pool and kids' castle are perfect for energetic children to burn off some steam. Although the sand on the beach is a bit coarse, it's clean and not too crowded. We saw many foreigners there too. I also recommend the hotel's seafood buffet dinner (the salmon, lamb chops, cocktails, and chocolate marshmallows were all great) and breakfast (freshly made rice noodle rolls and purple sweet potato noodles). Truly a positive review!

This apartment is managed by a hotel company, but the facilities are old and worn out. It's such a pity given the prime first-line sea view. The hotel is large, but completely lacks a service mindset. It is definitely not worth over 1,000 RMB—at most, it's worth around 300 RMB. At past 3 PM, the room hadn't even been cleaned yet, and we had to wait ages for them to finish. A thoroughly negative review is well-deserved!

I was a bit hesitant at first after seeing a few negative reviews, but our stay turned out to be a wonderful surprise—I’ve already recommended it to friends since coming back! First of all, the check-in experience was great. Our room was ready by around 1:00 PM and they gave us a call. They even upgraded us to the Sky Floor on the 30th level. The panoramic ocean view blew us away the moment we walked in! Even though looking straight down triggered my fear of heights so I couldn't get too close to the edge, I couldn't resist sneaking extra glances—the high-altitude sea view easily rivals Southeast Asia or Sanya! The room itself was huge, featuring a walk-in closet, a separate wet/dry bathroom, and spacious double vanities. There was an induction cooker (though we didn't use it), a large table that was perfect for our family to enjoy takeout, and a balcony spacious enough for a relaxing soak in the tub! The resort is very family-friendly, packed with pools—rooftop sky pools, an infinity pool, and kids' pools, practically too many to try! There are tons of water play facilities in the pools that make it a fantastic experience for non-swimmers (honestly the best I've encountered so far). The public beach is massive and was bustling with great holiday vibes during the National Day holiday, complete with evening fireworks, a night market, and BBQs. To be fair, the beach and seawater aren't quite as good as Xunliao Bay, so we spent most of our time in the pools instead of the sea. Still, sitting by the shore at night and enjoying the ocean breeze was incredibly relaxing! P.S. As mentioned in other reviews, the breakfast is indeed lacking—more like tour group catering—but ordering takeout was super easy, so it didn't ruin our vacation at all! ⛱️

The hotel offers a variety of entertainment facilities, including a free water park and a children's castle with ocean balls. However, the room's decor isn't great. The room door requires force to close, and water from the bathroom flows back into the room. I hope these issues can be improved. Additionally, I repeatedly observed guests smoking inside the hotel, which is not up to a five-star standard and leads to others being exposed to second-hand smoke.

The hotel environment, hygiene, and service are excellent, and the room is clean and tidy. The buffet breakfast offers a rich variety of options and tastes good. Check-in was smooth, and the overall experience was comfortable. It's a worthwhile choice for travel and accommodation.

The hotel's location is excellent. We stayed in the Tianyi Tower family suite, and the private beach was right outside, which was very convenient. The beach was perfect for photos, and the water park pool here is huge – the kids absolutely loved it. The hotel breakfast had a wide variety of options, and the staff were great, proactively asking if we needed help with our breakfast. Overall, it was a good trip.
