We had a lovely weeks stay here in a sea view room on the 4th floor. This hotel has tremendous views, stunning grounds, a lovely pool and beach (cove) area with comfortable sunbeds and a well positioned gym with an impressive outlook and a Clarins spa (excellent massage from Roxy!). I would definitely stay here again. It is in a great, central location, close to Palma, Portal Nous, Bendinat, Illetes Beach. We rented a car and would highly recommend doing this so you can explore the island (Valldemosa, Deia, Andratx, port Soller etc.!!) so the hotel location is in a great spot for being on the beach but also accessible to the high ways for exploring. Hotel food is good, the options are varied. Lunch food at Bardo and Amaro is of a high standard. The room service breakfast was average - the bread for the avocado toast was not toasted… it took about an hour to come. However, all our other meals were nice. The service at the front desk is of a very high standard. The receptionists are happy and willing to make reservations and recommend great places. This is very 5*. Carme is fantastic and an asset to the team! The rooms are spacious and clean with fantastic balcony views albeit a little dated. We had two single beds pushed together instead of the double bed requested…. However the worst issue about the stay was the air conditioning! The room was always SO hot, unbearable at times. The air conditioning was rubbish and needs complete updating. When outside temperatures were up to 35-40 with the humidity it is not acceptable to keep the rooms so hot!! Same goes for the gym, after 2 sessions inside, I chose not to go back because the lack of cooling air conditioning whilst running was also unbearable! Finally, a main point of concern is the lack of pool and beach staff!! We found ourselves constantly having to go up to the bar to order drinks- there should be more than 1 pool waiter for the amount of guests. Wait times for drinks by the pool is VERY SLOW. The pool staff are lovely but at least double the amount of staff is required. You also cannot eat on your sun lounger and have to sit at the restaurant. It would be nice to be able to have some nibbles and ice cream, at least, as you tan. To sit at Amaro you must be covered up which is a little inconvenient when coming from the pool. Bardo staff also seemed very few, at peak lunch periods, tables were left un-sanitised and messy as there was not enough staff to take orders, serve and reset tables. I loved the weekly schedule with an outdoor cinema (a highlight!!), lots of live music and yoga. It was a real treat and added something special to our stay. Considering the cost of the stay, it would be nice to have parking included in the rate of the room. €25 a night is uncalled for. Taking all of this into consideration. I still look forward to returning again in the near future!
