"The room was spacious but a bit dusty, as if the cleaning wasnât very thorough. Still, overall cleanliness was acceptable. The atmosphere was lovely with a beautiful view. The staff were friendly, cheerful, and always willing to help. Most importantly, the food was absolutely deliciousâdonât miss the breakfast!
However, the location is quite difficult to reach as the resort is on a hill. The road is dark at night, and thereâs nothing much around the hotel"

"The staff at the hotel are very friendly and it is conveniently located about a ten minute walk to the beach. Beds are latge and comfortable and the room is a good size with a small balcony - mine had a slight beach view. It is a quiet location and excellent price compared to others. You get water and coffee every morning with a water heater, fridge and beach towels and general toiletries in the bathroom. The cleaners are fantastic and do an excellent job. There is also a bath which can be unusual in Thailand. It is not modern but that is reflected in the price and offers great facilities and comfort. Highly recommended !"

"I had bad experiences in this hotel. Staff hotel tried to open my room at 6 am in the morning!!!! He knock the door too loud and use a spare key to open the door. I heard this happen and shocked that ***! is he doing. He said it was wrong room??? WHAT? but it was early in the morning!!
The next day, a housekeeper open my room again without knock the door and donât see that I put âNo Distrubâ sign hang in door knob. (This was around 6pm) I was resting. She said she forgot to bring me a new towel when she clean the roomâŚ
This was not impress at the hotel staff at all. I have to review my experience and I will not go back to this hotel again anymore."

"Arrived to find that the room we booked wasnât available as the air conditioning was broken. They made out that they had upgraded us but then took us next door to an old villa in a scruffy garden. We were only there for one night, had prepaid, and couldnât find anywhere else so had but option but to stay. Room was ok. Had our included breakfast at a restaurant across the street. Was quite good. Went to sunbathe after breakfast. The sunbeds were soaking wet and had bird poo in them. The staff werenât interested in cleaning and preparing the pool area for their guests.
Wouldnât stay again, scruffy hotel."

"An excellent beachfront hotel located on Chaweng Noi's best quiet beach. We stayed in a deluxe room, which was spacious and featured a large balcony; ground-floor rooms come with a veranda. The nights are incredibly peaceful, with only the sound of birds singing. A small, odor-free stream runs nearby. Access to both the beach and the restaurant is convenient via a small bridge. A monitor lizard even makes its home in the stream!
Breakfasts were somewhat basic and repetitive, though generally acceptable. The restaurant itself offers a fantastic ocean view.
On the downside: the bathroom lacked a handheld shower, and there was no telephone in the room.
On the plus side: the hotel boasts beautiful, well-maintained green grounds, a nice swimming pool, and a peaceful atmosphere. Bottled water is also provided. There's a Tops supermarket nearby, and a 7/11 is about a 10-minute walk away. However, there aren't many restaurants in the immediate vicinity, so we frequently had to walk or drive into Chaweng center. The Central Festival mall is approximately a 2km walk.
It's a great option for families with children, and I highly recommend it."

"Great pool, clean part of the beach, close enough to walk to lots of cafes and shops. We booked as a family on one booking but were told at check-in we would have to stay in separate areas of the hotel⌠this was very disappointing as we had requested rooms close together. Manager wasnât that friendly when we asked to change room to be closer together.
Most staff working at resort were friendly and it was clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others."

MMarielleeGarrya Tonsay Bay was a beautiful and peaceful oasis on Koh Samui! We stayed for a couple of nights and loved the variety of included activities, from morning yoga and Muay Thai to circuit classes, paddle boarding, and snorkelingâall very well organized. The restaurant was excellent; we enjoyed the âTaste of Northern Thailandâ dinner, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best weâve had. The staff was amazing, incredibly friendly, and attentive to every detail. Highly recommend this relaxing retreat!

AAdam PuetzfeldGreat hotel with great and attentive service as well as very clean facilities. We've been welcomed very warmly by all the staff at the reception. Our room had a great and straight view on the sea, located just above the pool. The hotel itself is build on a hill and it's not easy to walk up to the rooms, however, the staff is always ready and offering shuttle service which is great. Â Our room was very clean, the bathroom offered enough space. The only thing I wish could have been provided were some more toiletries (such as tooth brush, comb and a shaver). Breakfast selection on the buffet was quite limited but sufficient for a 3-4 days stay. Besides that there was an a la carte Egg Dish menu, which was very nice. Recommend the Egg Benedict, these were poached daily perfectly.Â
The location of the hotel slightly remote but quiet on the other hand. Plus, there's a van shuttle service twice a day and hotel itself provides drop offs down to the main road whenever needed. Bike rental is just bedside the hotel, which made it even more convenient.Â
Overall a great time at the Mantra Hotel, can only recommend.Â

Comfortable bed, cleanliness, smart toilet, clean pool, welcome drinks & snacks etc. The food is excellent. It's just that not many choices for those who do not eat pork and beef. Other than that I just love this hotel.

There are a couple of cafes within walking distance, but we didnât go to them, there werenât many people there either, except that a couple of times we saw a few farangs having breakfast. Report offers delivery to and from the beach during certain hours. I donât remember the price: either free, or for a symbolic fee, very low. They also offered to order breakfast and have it delivered to your villa: itâs certainly more expensive than in a regular cafe, but still affordable. We did not use this service, since we would have to plan breakfast time in advance (why?). The beach... we stayed during the daytime low tides, so I canât say anything good about the sea, but the beach itself is clean and almost deserted.
Surprises: we booked a villa with three bedrooms and a living room + a swimming pool. When looking at the photos of the rooms (at the time of booking), I could not understand the location of the room and also could not understand the privacy of the pool. Will the pool be ours alone or will it have to be shared with guests from some other villa. I even looked around on Google Maps, but still didnât fully understand it. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised that this very villa consists of two separate houses between which there is a swimming pool (not small, but medium in size). One house consists of two bedrooms with separate entrances and separate bathrooms, and the other house consists of a huge living room, dining room, kitchen and bedroom + 2 bathrooms. Grandiose! Another patio.
Of the minuses: not very stable wi-fi, TV is brooding. That's all. Air conditioners also do not cool as quickly as we would like, but this is the fault of the building design. A huge area of ââglazing which is made of single wood. If in the future we install normal aluminum structures with double-glazed windows, it will be possible to achieve a better effect from air conditioners + save on electricity and improve sound insulation. However, air conditioners do their job quite well. It was almost always quiet.
Overall everything is ok. This place is worth the money. The owner, Lana, is very friendly and speaks perfect Russian.

Its proximity to various restaurants, shops, and local attractions makes it an ideal base for exploring the area. Being able to walk everywhere is a huge plus and adds an element of relaxation to the vacation experience.
Staff: One of the standout features of the resort is its staff. They are not only efficient, ensuring everything runs smoothly, but also genuinely friendly and welcoming, always greeting guests with a smile. This level of service greatly enhances the overall stay.
Room Views: Opting for a room on the third floor is highly recommended as it offers scenic views. While the first and second floors might lack these views, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms remain commendable. Bed and pillows were awesome!!
Pool Area: The infinity pool is a highlight, providing a luxurious and serene environment to relax, swim, or simply enjoy the sun. This well-maintained area is made even more enjoyable by the fun and friendly pool and bar staff. Guests looking for a peaceful night's sleep might find the loud music, particularly the repetitive beats and booming sounds from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM, to be a major disturbance. This could be a dealbreaker for light sleepers or those seeking a restful retreat.
Beach and Swimming Conditions: While the beach itself is beautiful and great for daytime relaxation, the water level often remains below one meter, making it impossible to swim in the ocean. This shallow water issue is prevalent across most of Chaweng Beach and might disappoint those looking forward to ocean swimming.

We had a fantastic garden villa with an huge bathroom.
Everyone was really kind and friendly.
The only thing what they can work on it we would say it should be first of all the service for drinks and food.
Normally you should have a eye for your guests probably if you have a happy hour to going around at the pool desk and the location, to offer the promotion.
Second they have to make better drinks maybe a cocktail staff training should help.
And last but at least they have definitely to work on the service in the waiting time in the restaurant we had to wait more than 1 1/2 hour for Thai food whatâs probably is ready in 10 minutes.
Donât get us wrong itâs gonna be a beautiful hotel and you will have a beautiful stay at Koh Samui.
It just missing few details to make it perfect.

GGuest UserStayed at Chaweng Garden Beach Resort in July for 7 days in a Standard Triple Room in room 125. Although the resort is an older one, as a budget level hotel it has satisfied most of our expectations. The room was large enough, with the building close to âSue's Restaurantâ and to the main pool and to the beach. Room and bathroom were clean. As we asked for additional pillows in the room, we were provided.
The buildings, villas were surrounded by lush garden, including the restaurant and beachfront, assuring comfortable shadow for those searching for it. The main pool has a comfortable depth, comfortable for swimming/playing, it's water was clean, although we preferred to swim in the sea. Did NOT encounter any jellyfish in the sea during our stay, so do not be afraid from this point of view! Beach towels are provided near the pool.
Breakfast was basically good, although I would suggest to the management to provide beside a single(same) type of ham also some variety of salami. The same would be the case also for cheese, to provide 2-3 types, not only a single one type every day. I guess this would be much appreciated by the westerners who make up the majority of the guests.
Initially we were afraid from load music until late night from the neighboring Ark Bar Beach Club, but our fear was groundless, the lush vegetation absorbed most of the sound, it was barely noticeable.
It was touching seeing how the much respected owner of the resort, Miss Sue, was visiting one or two times every day the area near the restaurant and the beach while greeting âoldâ returning guests and entering with them is short conversions.
All in one, I appreciate that Chaweng Garden Beach Resort offers an excellent value for money ratio, and I would definitely return the next time to the same place, hopefully next year!

Pizza fab day or night. Happy hour G&T was a welcome offering. Varied music around the pool gave a good happy vibe without being over the top. Loved you could walk into the sea on soft sand. Mall/ bars/restaurants on doorstep.. short walk outside Resort entrance. Close to airport so some air noise when flights arrive/depart. Did not notice after 1st day. Tip. Mozi plug-in is a must in all of Asia. Friendly beach vendors. All ages hotel.
