"This hotel is conveniently located near Dream Valley and Qingming Shanghe Garden, and the package deal allows for re-entry to the attractions, which is a plus. The breakfast was plentiful and the service was excellent; overall, I was satisfied. However, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Perhaps it's an older hotel, but the carpet was quite dirty, and there was unvacuumed trash on the floor. There were even bits of debris and sunflower seed shells next to the nightstand. In the public hallway, a tube of toothpaste sat undisturbed against the wall for a whole day, which suggests a need for improvement in their cleaning standards. On a positive note, the female and male staff at the front desk were very enthusiastic and welcoming."

"Fantastic location! Just a 5-minute walk to the subway station, with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The room was even cleaner than I expected, and the bedding was so soft it felt like sleeping on a cloud. I'll definitely choose this place again next time! The front desk lady was incredibly warm, like an old friend. She even upgraded us to a family room when she saw we had a child and hand-drew a map of the surrounding area. The attention to detail was truly heartwarming!"

You can see Dongyang's special wood carvings everywhere â clearly the owner loves their hometown culture! đ They've cultivated a vibrant group of young employees. "Excellent! Housekeeping comes to clean every day, which is wonderful. The front desk staff are super gentle, and the soundproofing is great. My friend and I stayed there for a few days and had a very pleasant experience. Every time the auntie came to clean, she'd replenish anything that was missing, which is a huge plus. The location is super easy to find, right behind a night market. Whenever we were hungry, we just went downstairs and walked a few steps to the night market â it was amazing! "Having spent some time in Hengdian before, I often passed by and saw this hotel, which piqued my curiosity. So, for this business trip, I decided to give it a try. You can tell the hotel was once very luxurious, and even though time has passed and it's showing its age a bit, it still has all the essential amenities. My stay exceeded expectations. The hotel is right in the city center, and the room was meticulously cleaned with no strange odors. The bed was just the right firmness, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. The front desk staff were very polite and helpful, responding promptly to any questions. The surrounding area offers convenient transportation, and it's easy to find places to eat and shop. It's excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it. Plus, the soundproofing is fantastic; when I first arrived, it was so quiet I genuinely thought there weren't many guests. However, when I went downstairs for breakfast, I found a long queue! They even gave us afternoon tea snacks and a handwritten letter. "Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle.
Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel.
There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set.
The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors.
The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai.
The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as âlaoshiâ (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as âstarletâ. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups.
The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day.
The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi.
Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies."

"Guomao Building, a well-established four-star hotel in Hengdian, was my choice for a two-night stay during the Chinese New Year, and I had a fantastic experience. First off, the service was incredibly warm and attentive. The security guard at the entrance proactively helped with my luggage, and the front desk staff not only offered a complimentary children's meal but also provided a detailed guide to the film and television city. These thoughtful gestures, showing genuine care for guests, were truly heartwarming. Secondly, the room facilities were spotless. Despite the hotel having been in operation for some years, the cleanliness standards have not wavered. All amenities were well-maintained and fully functional, and the room temperature was set perfectly, making for a very comfortable stay. Lastly, the breakfast was a highlight. In addition to the standard offerings, they served local specialties like 'Mai Jiao' (wheat dumplings) and 'Mi Guo' (rice cakes). It wasn't just filling; it offered a taste of local culture too."

While the location is already a major advantage being just steps away from Dream Valley and close to the other Hengdian attractions - what truly sets this hotel apart is the heart and personality behind it. This is not a typical boutique hotel. Itâs a place shaped by the ownersâ passion, taste, and genuine care for their guests.
From the moment you arrive, you can feel that the hotel is a labor of love. The architecture and interior design are beautifully curated, with many pieces collected by the owners over the years. Walking through the courtyard and hallways feels like stepping into a different era, almost like entering a scene from the Song dynasty. Yet the rooms themselves are fully modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. Itâs a rare blend of historical atmosphere and contemporary convenience, and it creates a sense of immersion that you simply donât get at most hotels in the area.
Even though we didnât stay in the hotelâs best room, we were extremely comfortable. The beds are very firm - something to keep in mind depending on your preference - but we slept well. The room features a large, modern soaking tub thatâs perfect after a long day of walking through the film sets and a separate bathroom and shower. And one of our favorite touches was the smart projector in the room, which turns a simple movie night into a cinematic experience. Itâs small details like these that show how much thought has gone into making the stay enjoyable.
But the true highlight of our visit was the hospitality. The owners are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making guests feel welcome. On one rainy day, when there wasnât much for us to do outside, they invited us into their main hall for tea. They set up a traditional tea table with a heated brazier, creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere that felt like visiting old friends rather than staying at a hotel. They kept bringing local snacks: seeds, small rice cakes, and even freshly cooked sweet potato - all offered freely and with genuine kindness. My wife and kids loved every bit of it. What could have been a dull, rainy afternoon became one of our favorite memories of the entire trip.
Their kindness extended beyond that moment. At one point, we accidentally made a mess in our room (entirely our fault) and the owners helped us clean up without a hint of frustration or judgment. Itâs rare to find that level of patience and understanding, especially during the busy holiday season.
Breakfast each morning was another highlight. The hotel has a local cook who clearly takes pride in her craft. The dishes were fresh and simple but full of flavor, prepared with care and attention. You could feel her pride in everything she served. Itâs the kind of breakfast that makes you slow down and appreciate the home cooked moment, rather than rushing through a buffet line like at larger hotels.
All in all, this hotel was a true win for us. The personal touches, the warmth of the owners, the passion of the cook, and the unique atmosphere created by the carefully collected antiques all come together to create an experience that stands out among the many boutique hotels in the area. In fact, I would say itâs probably better than any other hotel around Hengdian. Itâs rare to find a place that feels both deeply rooted in local culture and fully equipped with modern comforts, but this hotel manages to do exactly that.
We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Hengdian, whether for the parks, the film sets, or simply a relaxing getaway. And if we ever return to the area, we would stay here again without hesitation.

GGuest UserVery friendly and great hospitality by the owners. They are friendly and helpful and gave us a food and attraction strategy guide which was very useful as our purpose in Hengdian was to visit the major filming studios. The estate was located deep in a neighbourhood area and we have a small problem locating the front entrance desk. Currently they are still doing upgrading to the estate with gardens and swimming pool (refer to photo). I'm sure it will look amazing once completed. The estate was built in 2023 from the ground up and was designed by the same designer who did the Qin Palace. No wonder this homestay has this ancient building look. The room was pretty nice but I find the bed to be too stiff. I'm used to a soft and cushy kind of bed back home and couldn't sleep well for the 3 nights we are there. My family members have no such problem though. Homemade breakfast was provided everyday by 1 of the cleaner cum cook lady. She was super friendly and the food are fantastic and healthy. This is definitely worth a look if you are looking for accomodation in Hengdian and want to experience a more localised feel compared to a standard hotel stay.

GGuest UserCame to Hengdian with my family and booked a family room and a standard room. The layout and decor were great, clean and hygienic. The front desk staff were also very thoughtful and attentive to our needs, always resolving any issues promptly. The hotel is very close to the scenic area, making it convenient to go out for meals. It was a shame it was cloudy and rainy when we arrived in Hengdian, but the accommodation experience was still very good. Worth coming back again.

JJCF6866Having just checked out, I couldn't wait to write this review. I need to express my warmest thanks to Home Inn (Dream Valley Store) for the incredibly thoughtful experience they provided â especially for their heartwarming assistance during a heavy rainstorm in Hengdian.
On the evening of June 27th, 2025, a sudden downpour hit as we were leaving the Bund scenic area, leaving my elderly parents and children stranded. After nearly 40 minutes of unsuccessfully trying to hail a taxi or rideshare, and in my growing desperation, I contacted the Home Inn Business Hotel (Dream Valley Store) where we were staying.
Upon hearing our predicament, the front desk attendant, Xiao Zhu, immediately and unhesitatingly promised to help. Just one minute later, she called back with amazing news: 'The hotel manager is on his way, driving his personal car to pick you up!'
Eighteen minutes later, the manager arrived in the pouring rain. He immediately put us at ease with his warm and reassuring demeanor. Upon our arrival back at the hotel, the front desk had warm water ready and waiting for us.
From their decisive promise, to the manager's rescue in the pouring rain, and even the thoughtful gesture of warm water, Home Inn Hengdian truly went above and beyond service, demonstrating the very best of human kindness. My deepest gratitude goes to the manager, the front desk staff, and all the employees!

GGuest UserDespite the amenities being a bit dated, my stay at Hengdian Yihe Hotel (Qinwang Palace Dream Branch) was thoroughly enjoyable and I would not hesitate to give it a good rating.
The hotel's greatest strength is its unbeatable location. It's very close to the Qin Palace and Qingming Shang He Tu scenic spots, which is incredibly convenient for exploring. While the furnishings are older, the entire property is very well-maintained and clean.
What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff, particularly the receptionist. She was incredibly friendly and patient, answering all our questions and offering excellent recommendations for attractions. Another nice touch was the unlimited supply of bottled water provided by the hotel.
For dining options, we found several Halal Lanzhou noodle shops within a 1.5km to 5km radius. Getting around was easy and affordable using Didi.
If you prioritise modern, luxurious rooms, this might not be for you. But if you value a prime location, cleanliness, and outstandingly friendly service, this hotel is an excellent choice.

You can easily walk to the famous Haowang Night Market and access various film and television studios, making it super convenient for getting around, finding food, and sightseeing. The room is decorated in warm orange tones, featuring elephant-themed wallpaper and Southeast Asian-style murals, creating a unique and cozy ambiance. The bedding is soft and skin-friendly, ensuring an undisturbed night's sleep. The room gets plenty of natural light, and you can enjoy distant views of the Bamianshan mountains from the window. The front desk staff are warm and attentive, making the check-in process efficient and quick. The breakfast offers a rich variety of Chinese and Western options, both comforting and filling, perfect for energizing you for a day of exploration. The hotel's common areas are also decorated with festive New Year-themed photo walls, like 'May Wealth Come Immediately,' creating a great atmosphere for commemorative photos. It's a perfect fit for both family trips and group travel.

GGuest Userthe room is spacious and super cozy. very clean, no malfunction. it feels homey. there's also a little snacks provided in the room! the location is also super convenient, just right across the Qing Ming Shang He Tu. you can even see it from your window room. the inn also has a hanfu rent. the host is very responsive, and the whole check in and check out is very smooth. I stayed in the 2nd floor, the stairs is a little bit narrow so it may be a little bit inconvenient if you bring a heavy lugagge, but that's not a problem. the host helped me to bring my luggage up. I recommend it to anyone who visit hengdian!!đđ

I recently stayed at this hotel with my two friends and had a pleasant experience overall. The owner, a lovely lady, was incredibly friendly and made sure I felt welcome throughout my stay. The location is super convenient, with plenty of restaurants, fruit markets, and mini supermarkets nearby, making it easy to explore and grab anything you need.
The hotel is about 16 km away from the main attractions, roughly an hour's drive, so itâs a bit out of the way, but that also means it's quieter. The room itself was not the cleanest, but for the price, it was worth it. The essentials were covered with hot water, air conditioning, and all the basic amenities youâd expect, including free toiletries.
One of the best parts is that the hotel accepts foreigners without any issues, which made my stay stress-free. If you're looking for budget-friendly accommodation with all the basic comforts and a very kind host, this place is a solid choice.
