"The name of the hostel is One Family, and that is exactly what you will get here, since the second day I found myself sitting at the table with the whole family running the place feeling sort of part of this family. On top of that, the owner is part of the local minority living in Ping'ancun, so culturally it doesn't get more authentic than this!
But what I truly want to stress is the kindness and helpfulness of the owner's son (whose name I unfortunately have forgotten). He gave me a lot of interesting insights about the history and culture of Ping'ancun, which was truly fascinating. In addition, he gave me advice about my travels, and, ultimately, I would follow his tips seeing some of the most outstanding places in China. So, if you need info and tips about a China travel itinerary, you are also at a good place here.
Lastly, the room was like being in a hut on top of a mountain. Surely not as luxurious as other hotels in the area, yet again if you look for something authentic, go here."

"The room is very spacious and bright, clean and sanitary. The details are well done and equipped with toilet mats. The boss and the lady boss are very nice. They came down to pick us up and helped us carry our suitcases upstairs👍👍. The boss lady cooks delicious food. , they also gave us two free breakfasts, a bamboo tube rice 🤭🤭, and they also lent us a motorcycle to ride on, which was very convenient for going out to see the scenery. I must give it a thumbs up 👍👍👍.

"In contrast, this stay is relatively comfortable and cost-effective. Just arrived, the boss took us to the inn in the Ping'anzhai parking lot, the proprietress also helped us carry our luggage, mainly the 24-inch luggage thief weighed ～ and went to the proprietress and said that there was a mountain view room that day that did not make an appointment for us to upgrade for free. Just for my parents to live, enjoy the heating in the room ～, Guilin is a bit cold at night, it is a bit hot haha. One day and one night, the morning, middle and evening are solved in the inn, the chicken is eaten for home use, and the vegetables I like most, very sweet. The boss said it was because it snowed a while ago.
During the day, I went to the seven stars and the Kowloon Five Tigers from the inn. It was very comfortable and convenient. The air was very good and the weather was very good. If it is not time, I want to stay for one more night.

"The taste of this B&B is extraordinary, and the environment and ambience are not impressive at all. It can be seen that the owner has designed it very carefully. In the standard room on the second floor, you can see the terraced fields next to you when you open the curtains. It's not too beautiful. When I’m tired from shopping during the day, I go back to the living room at night and there’s a projector to play movies, paired with the matcha latte made by the landlady, which is quite a treat! ! Well worth the trip"

"Love my stay, proprietors were welçoming, clean, had family meals, upgraded at no cost, hot water, heater great room patio views.
The negative experience and *not connected with the hotel were the aggressive ethnic women vendors, they lie about their products, use guilt trip and aggression to try to get you to buy. I certainly don't want the lump them all together but in my seven encounters it was 100%, perhaps it's a cultural thing. I've told my proprietor and hopefully she'll warm them that it's harmful fleecing and being unpleasant."

GGuest UserWe are so glad that we have chosen to stay at this hotel during our trip to Ping'an. It's strategically located at Ping'an, where it's easily accessible to View Point 1: Nine Dragons and Five Tigers and View Point 2: Seven Stars around the Moon. The path to the above viewing points is just next to the hotel!
The hotel owner picked us up from the parking lot and carried our bags to the hotel. We enjoyed our stay due to the warm hospitality and superb service.
The rooms are tastefully decorated and cleaned with amazing views of the rice terraces close-up. We can even see the sunrise from our rooms. We went during winter, but fret not; the heaters in the rooms kept one warm. It was fun to go during winter as Ping'an is not crowded with tourists. The view of the Longji rice terraces has a different kind of beauty after the harvest season.
We had dinner at the hotel. The dishes were delicious as the vegetables were freshly plucked and the chicken was slaughtered for dinner. The hotel owner went out of their way to get us the dried bamboo shoots that we wanted to buy to take home.
Breakfast was great. We have enjoyed our meals at the hotel as they're home-cooked and organic. You can't get vegetables, herbs, and meat products fresher than here. It's a great place to stay for hiking and relaxation.

GGuest UserIf you come to Ping'an Zhuangzhai and want to see the seven stars and the moon, their restaurant is the best place to be; sitting in the restaurant, through the large glass windows, slowing down the pace to enjoy the food, while enjoying the beautiful scenery with the breeze, you can't help but sigh for the unique natural and geographical conditions of this place and the greatness of the ancients; back to the guest room, open the window, sit quietly on the balcony, and another different scenery will come into view. You can sit on the sofa and be in a daze, daydream, it is really a good place to forget worries and heal; the boss and his family should be mentioned the most, they are thoughtful and careful, everyone is doing their best to serve the guests, they are a particularly hardworking and warm family. I like their family and sincerely wish them a prosperous business!

EearlgreykosongThis was a local hotel that was situated on a peak facing Jinfoding (Golden Buddha Peak), so note it’s not on Jinfoding itself but still in the same area of Jinkeng Dazhai. I hired a driver via the hotel to fetch me from Guilin Airport to the hotel. Journey took about 3 hours using local roads, if you can somehow negotiate with your driver to take the expressway from the airport, it will be about an hour shorter and less scenic but also less nauseating. Access to hotel is pretty limited unless you hire a driver or you drive. If you take the bus from Guilin downtown/Airport, it will only alight you at the Dazhai parking lot, and you still need to make transport arrangements to get to the hotel within the scenic area (anywhere between 20-40min drive) but the boss is helpful and very contactable (phone call or wechat). I wouldn’t recommend walking to the hotel cos it is situated at the top of a pretty steep hill and it is a one-car lane that goes both ways with many blind spots. At the hotel, you could choose to walk and hike the terraces to other viewpoints in Jinkeng, but note that the routes will be very long and exhausting. If you plan to visit other villages like Ping An Zhai, it’s about an hour’s drive away on mountain roads, and it’s best if you hire a driver as well.
Overall, room was very clean and spacious and was true to trip.com description and pictures. Very comfortable, clean and scenic stay! Shower and toilet are separate and clean. There’s a bathtub situated right behind the bed, they provided disposable bathtub liner if you want to use it. Hotel is situated near one of the viewpoints in Jinkeng, but it was very misty on the day I hiked. From what I could make out through the mist, the views seem pretty epic. View from the room is great and the boss provided a welcome sweet rice wine drink with lunch which was great! The boss gave me some luohanguo as a souvenir when I checked out! Did I also mention, breakfast provided included a jar of fresh warm soy milk and a delicious bowl of rice noodles made to order! Will stay again in future!

SShangA family ran hotel with brand new amenities and really great views of the Jinkeng village rice terraces if you book the rooms with views. We only stayed for one night but we really appreciated the warm hospitality from the host family. The food, breakfast and dinner, were both quite good.
Logistically, you have to contact the hotel to pick you up from the entrance of the Jinkeng village (bottom of the cable car) then it’s only a short 5-7 mins drive from there. We called the hotel thru our driver and everything worked out smoothly.
Another highlight is that from this hotel, you can trek for about 40 mins thru the village and rice terrace to get to the highest viewing platform of the Jinkeng village. It was a bit of a workout but the views along the way was really worth it. The owner will send u a detailed guide of how to get there so you won’t get lost.
Overall I would highly recommend for the views and the opportunity to trek a little deeper into the village and terraces and enjoy the tranquility there.

TTuan Ying GohHad such a pleasant and memorable experience at this inn. The boss, Mr Yu, is super down to earth and sincere. He cooked super well too - taste is just nice, not too oily or salty. And all his ingredients are fresh from his farm, even the chickens and fishes. What a farm-to-table experience. As it is the low peak season now, he could sit down and have good chats with us.
The room is huge, with an unblock mountain view. It’s also near to viewing point 2. There’s this cute inn dog who is so loyal.
The room is well kept, with a balcony for you to sit and sip wine or tea. Note that there are insects because we are by the mountains but you could bring your own repellent. We slept well here.
The driver, Mr Yang, who drove us up Long Ji also stayed at this inn. We asked that he drives us around for the three days we are here and send us back to Guilin city. His driving skill is very stable and he’s very well-versed with the mountain roads (as he’s a local).
What can I say, this experience is simply too memorable. Human relationships forged is the magical part of travel. Would highly recommend you to come experience this inn for yourself (of course during the peak season, the boss might not have time to sit down for a chat).

GGippiThe property is perfectly located in the heart of Ping'an, right 5 minutes walk from the bottom of the terraces of the 9 dragons 5 tigers terraces area, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the village and terraces on foot. Room was as shown in the pics, spacious, perfectly clean and featured very comfortable beds. The building’s architecture was absolutely beautiful and it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. There are multiple balconies with wonderful sights and at night it is magical to hear the terraces turning alive with all the frogs croacking sounds! Nonetheless the room was perfectly soundproof so you can sleep peacefully once you close the doors, regardless of the outer natural orchestra (very recommended to have a walk at night to the close 9 dragons and 5 tigers terraces! Unique experience for some). The staff were helpful and professional. There is a very good restaurant inside the building with very tasty local typical bamboo-cooked chicken, rice terrace fishes and many other tasty dishes. There are also traditional dressings to wear for free inside the main hall. Nice breakfast included in the price. We are very happy and we recommend this accommodation to stay in Longji Terraces area!

LLeonie WigleyI had an absolutely wonderful stay here. I went out of season, so I was the one of the only guests for two days, this made if even more special. if you travel during rainy season make sure to have rainboots and rain proof coats etc. The nights and mornings can get very cold so prepare warm clothes. The family helped me from booking a local shuttle bus from Yangshuo to arrive and departing and also picked me up on my day of arrival from the park entrance. The Homestay is quite far up the hills, not very easy to find you need to carpool or ask owners to help with scooter ride, but the views and people make it all the worthwhile. It is close to many hiking trails and view points. The family welcomed me with so much love the room was exactly as it said. Their food and pricing is also very affordable. They family is of the local ethnicity and they gave me an up-close view in their lives and their traditional ways. I tasted their rice wine, chilli paste , traditional tea and bamboo rice and many other delicious foods. The owners and family are very helpful and if you have any questions, or want to know more of need to get to a certain part of the area they are happy to help. This family and their black dog filled my heart with so much love and gratitude. Note for for foreign travelers: They don't speak English, but do not let this scare you if you are a foreigner, translator apps are helpful if you can't understand the language.
Overall, I highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful, tranquil and family-like feeling enjoy the outdoors and nature. I will definitely be going back!

Xxlhy55This B&B is very good. The location is right between the two observation decks, making it very convenient to visit. During the day, you can have a panoramic view of the terraced fields outside the window, and at night the lighting of the terraces is amazing. The boss and his wife were very nice. They drove to the parking lot to pick us up and helped us carry the suitcase up the hill. They also helped arrange our trip to Jinkeng Dazhai. They made delicious breakfast and upgraded the room for free.

JJulieHad an incredible stay here! The views are stunning (probably one of the best out of all the other accommodations nearby), the room was clean and the service was friendly. It's a family owned business and everyone is lovely. If you're taking a bus, it won't drop you all the way to the hotel but if you give the hotel a call, someone can come pick you up from the bus stop. I had a bit of a miscommunication with my previous hotel who arranged a coach for us that dropped us off at a very far away drop off point and someone still came and picked us up from there with no complaints (and did not charge us for it)!! We were also dropped back off at the bus stop on the day we left. No one spoke much English which made it a little harder, but we got by with a translator app. There are quite a few stairs to go up to get to the hotel which isn't great if you have lots of heavy luggage so I'd recommend packing lightly if possible. Having said that, if you have average fitness, you should be fine getting up and down the stairs, the trek is not too long. The views are definitely worth it! Would stay again for sure.
