Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites

We stayed at one of the suites with my family. High quality linen and amenities, wonderful views of the pool and the beach, loved the spacious balcony overlooking the pool and the very comfy bed. We tasted delicious food at the property, the kids were more than happy with the pool and the food. The staff was very friendly and polite, ready to funfil all our requests. And of course the room and all the property were spotlessly clean, you could see members of the staff cleaning and tidying the pool and public space. We will come back for sure once in Kos!!!

Everything was clean and white! The staff was very polite and the suite very spacious for us, two adults and two children 12 and 15 years old. The quality of food was excellent! We really enjoy the days there and we will return soon! Absolutely, a brilliant choice for traveling in Kos!

Definitely not a 5 star, honestly , I would rather say a 3 maybe 4 star category hotel. Looking at the reviews and photos before the booking, everything looked good but when you actually saw it with your own eyes it seemed worn and outdated. The view from the room was amazing but the atmosphere was destroyed by lots of spiders , earwigs and other unknown bugs that were in the room. After one night fighting with those creatures we eventually changed the room. The food was almost the same every single day . The staff was great overall can’t complain. I would love to see more realistic reviews without photos taken at the hotel opening or prepared specifically for photo shoot that used to be an idea of Tripadvisor at its very beginning. De Dimitra beach hotel is truly amazing and has a breathtaking view. The Agois Fokas Aegan sea is just downstairs and has very clear water. I really enjoyed my stay the staff is wonderful. Especially the cleaning lady Pepa and luggage helper service hospitality Ahmed made our stay in this hotel more relaxing. The food the have is fresh and has many choices. If you like to walk you have a little work out cause the location is on a hill with many stairs. The only recommendation that I would have is a hot (working) swimming pool or some warm water swimming pool.

We had a great holiday here in the end after some initial problems. I think part of the problem is the 5 star rating which sets an expectation that isn't met. If we had gone along expecting 4 star or 4 plus, I think we would have been much more satisfied from the start. Things that let the hotel down; 1) the reception staff were quite rude and unhelpful. This didn't help with first impressions. We thought maybe the person that checked us in was just new and inexperienced but the rest of the reception staff were the same throughout the week 2) the 2nd biggest issue we had was the food. Snacks outside of meal times were extremely limited. We'd arrived mid afternoon after an early flight and we very hungry upon reaching the hotel. We were told snacks at the pool bar but there wasn't anything left apart from some dry cake that had been sat on display in the heat and flies around it all day. When we asked the pool bar staff they said 'no more snacks left today' and handed us a rather expensive a la carte menu. On our 2nd day we managed to get some snacks which were actually quite tasty but you have to be quick to get a slice of pizza before it gets raided. For 5 star I really would expect better availability of food outside of meal times. Food at meal times was ok. A good selection of salads and a fairly decent choice each night but quality varied. Some nights it felt like trying to find something to fill your stomach rather than tasty and enjoyable food. Again for 5 star rating I'd expect more. Couldn't believe we were in Greece and didn't get any humous all week! Worth saying that the food at the two A la Carte restaurants was delicious though ( all inclusive gets a meal in each). Good points: The bar staff and most of the waiters are brilliant! They made us feel really welcome and made up for some of the disappointment earlier in the holiday The drinks were good too. Beer was nice. Wine was pretty good. Cocktails were amazing! Spirits were a mix of imported and local but no issues and decent measures. The adults only pool area was great and the pool by the taverna restaurant was nice. The other pool by the Italian restaurant wasn't our cup of tea but was always busy so must appeal to some. The beach is spacious and the sea is beautiful. Although definitely recommend swimming shoes as the pebbles make it hard to get in and out of the water! Our bedroom was basic but clean and had a nice sea view. We were in the main block and had wondered if the bungalows were worth the extra charge but speaking to others, I think we were better off in the hotel rooms. In summary we really liked the hotel, the staff and the overall experience despite feeling a little duped by the star rating. Hope this is helpful to others!

We had a wonderful stay at the resort! The staff was very helpful and kind. Delicious breakfast with lots of variety of local products. Facilities were great and our room was amazing! I would highly recommend it! We will definitely go back!!

We stayed in August 2022 and had a wonderful holiday so we booked again for 2023. We paid a lot of money to stay 10 nights with a sea view room. I had emailed several times before asking for our ideal room location having stayed previously. Upon arrival, we were given room 830 which looked out onto a building. I immediately went to reception and advised I wasn’t happy paying all that money for my sea view to be a building and was promised I had many rooms to pick from in the morning. Long story short, there were no other rooms, I was passed left right and centre, apparently it was my fault I got that room as the room we had requested before were not the correct room types we had booked and I should have known this (after 4 emails to reception prior to our holiday, not once did they say that the rooms we politely requested were downgrades), first day of my holiday ruined and we had no choice but to accept a downgraded room with a pool view at best. The receptionist (couldn’t remember her name) was the rudest person I’ve ever encountered on holiday. If we had been given the room we paid so much money for, we would still be returning customers this year but I wouldn’t go back. I was not the only person complaining about the views so clearly the sea view rooms advertised are not always correct.
