I have stayed at the hotel so long it's clear that it feels like home and I can honestly they they don't go less than above and beyond to help you feel at ease and at home I have not one complaint to make other than, can't you just let me live there guys xx šŸ„° Helen on the desk is one of the loveliest people you'll probably encounter and if there's an issue they try their best to deal with it in a favourable manner so that you don't feel awkward or embarrassed, well once they know you better, you'll have to remember how many people they all deal with minute by minute and they aren't all reasonable, understanding or rationale but they all seem to keep their cool and keep a light humour to the situation which is lovely xx

Very impressed with this hotel for price I paid - although I notice that I got a very good price compared to what it typically goes for. Comfortable bed, good size room, relatively modern interior. It is a 15 min drive from Leeds centre which may put some off, but overall I was really happy with my stay.

The Hotel is very close to the main roads and easy to reach , check In was quick and efficient. Room clean and fresh. Since our last visit here the Changing rooms of the leisure have been upgraded and all the leisure centre a pleasure to use once again. The Restaurant and Bar area has been refreshed too with accompanying Good level of customer service. The City centre is a comfortable 20min walk passing by a number of attractive bars and restaurants, we had a nice Thai meal at Zapps. On the downside, for the second time our room fridge was defective, I'd be checking 1st next visit. The cooked breakfast was very complete but not very hot, the choice of cold choices was comprehensive. One Great advantage of staying at the Plaza is its even easier on the way out to access the M621 and Motorways and not have to negotiate the Ring road network. It's always our 1st Choice when we go to Leeds.

Good location next to train station - due to ongoing building works at the train station itā€™s easiest/quicker to get to the hotel near the entrance/exit closest to platform 16 (I ply found this out after walking the long way round šŸ¤¦ā™€ļø). Refurbished room was nice. Bath was small. Would opt for walk-in shower next time. Temperature too warm but staff provided a fan on request. Double bed fine for a solo traveller. Wouldnā€™t have been too comfortable for two. No radio in room or on TV which would have been nice. Robes, slippers, tea/coffee making facilities, iron and hair fro provided. Breakfast - good selection for hot and cold breakfast options. Would be nice to have better decaf coffee. Newly renovated lobby area was nice. Perfume smell wafted into breakfast room and was a bit overpowering at times. That being said the ground floor entrance doesnā€™t smell good (youā€™ll get over it) so I can see why this is needed. Newly renovated lobby/bar area is nice. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Overall I had a pleasant stay and I would stay here again as a solo traveller. If I was travelling with another adult we would require a larger bed to ensure a more comfortable rest/sleep so possibly an upgrade or a second room would be needed.

GGuest UserIt's a very old century-old store. The rooms are very traditional in European style. You feel like you've traveled through history when you stay there. The restaurant is not self-service, but there are suites to choose from. There are also service staff who can speak Chinese. The road is being built in front of the door and parking is not available. Convenient and worth a try.

GGuest UserTerrible terrible service! Checked in night of 20/7 and was told one of our bookings couldnā€™t be found. No help, compassion, empathyā€¦nothing. Finally a colleague did find out booking and we received the two cards for our rooms. In one of the rooms there was guests already staying in the room!!! We apologised and went to reception. Again the female colleague had no compassion, she said oh yeh we realised that room was already occupied after you left reception!! How did they not know that before assigning us the room?!??? The person whose sleep we interrupted also came down to complain! We finally got a room but then our other booked room was then invaded with another family trying to access the room. They had again assigned another family one of rooms!!! We went down to complain again!! Was told manager would be available in the morning to make a complaint to. Didnā€™t sleep well because we thought our room would be visited by unsuspecting guests again! Morning came, we went to reception and was told the manager was in a meeting and we had to wait for them. A lady then approached us at breakfast and stated that she was not a manager, she apologised for the same girls at reception telling us that she was a manager. We demanded a refund and was told a manager would contact us later on the day to discuss. As I am writing this report no one has attempted to call us whatsoever. Very unhappy with this service!

KK123The hotel is just opposite the train station, the location is good to eat any dishes and supermarket is very closed . Before we checked in , i requested connecting rooms but they said no connecting rooms. The hotel upgraded us to have executive rooms . It was appreciated. But they didnā€™t clean and tidy and refilled new towels everyday, the 2 nd day. The room keeping manager attitude was very bad, blamed me to disturb her schedule, asked her Warden to do extra bedroom šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜…. The fact was that morning the toilet was blocked , tried to call at 1000 to ask somebody come up to check , since nobody appeared and warden was cleaning in next room. So I asked for assistance, the Warden is very nice and helpful, he informed her room keeping manager then cleaned and bumped my toilet After that the room keeping manager came up and blamed to the Warden in next room , I was very frustrated then she walked to my room door and complained to me . What kind of attitude she was . I called to the receptionist asked somebody explained and apologized but no news . But till now no one contacted me from the hotel. About the last day I need to took the earlier train to airport, I would like to get refund of 2 rooms breakfast but failed they said they can offer a padded breakfast to me . They did on time but with no hot coffee as I requested.šŸ˜“šŸ¤·ā™€ļø

CCaitlin WarriorI had wanted to stay in this hotel since I was a kid, so I was looking forward to a bit of comparative luxury after only ever using Travelodges and B&Bs. It may be my funny coloured hair and tattoos, but the security asked to see my room key repeatedly throughout our one night stay. Went outside to pick up some shopping- show keycard. Went to reception with an enquiry- show keycard. Popped outside briefly- show keycard. Return from night out, show keycard to enter hotel, show it to approach the lift, and again whilst waiting for lift. It was worse than Manchester airport security and made me feel very unwelcome. Which was a shame, as check in was lovely and we were given a room with a bath as requested, so I had high hopes. I won't bother in future, and will stay at a Travelodge, as it's clearly more my level

GGuest UserThe hotel benefits from a very convenient location, which is one of its strongest points. It was generally clean, but several issues negatively impacted our stay. Our first room was uncomfortably cold, with half the lights not working and a loose faucet in the bathroom, suggesting a lack of proper maintenance. After reporting the heating problem, we were moved to another room. However, it became clear that we were not the only ones experiencing this issueā€”other guests were also having their rooms changed due to cold temperatures. It seems that because the hotel is so large, staff may not have the time to check the heating systems in all rooms. Compounding this, the rooms tended to get very stuffy, making it hard to find a comfortable temperature. When we requested extra bedding because there were three of us but only two duvets provided, we were informed that housekeeping had none available. This was surprising and inconvenient, as basic bedding for all guests should have been ensured. The bedding, although washed, had visible stains on some sheets, detracting from the overall impression of cleanliness. Adding to the disorganization, the cleaning staff worked at very unusual hours. When we returned from dinner well after 10 PM, room cleaning was still ongoing, which was unexpected. Another frustrating issue was that one of the elevator call buttons (for going down) did not work, and no notice or sign had been placed to inform guests. This added unnecessary inconvenience and further highlighted a lack of attention to detail. Overall, while the location and basic cleanliness are positives, the hotel suffers from significant maintenance issues, inconsistent heating, a shortage of basic amenities like extra duvets, unusual cleaning schedules, and overlooked problems like broken elevator buttons. Addressing these concerns could significantly improve the guest experience.

GGuest UserIt was 4 degrees outside and the windows were left open. The heating system was on max and I could barely feel it, there was also a plug in heater in the room so the hotel obviously know itā€™s cold in there, but even the portable heater didnā€™t give out much warmth Room is dated but I expected that for the price, I just didnā€™t anticipate the lack of adequate heating

WWhiteJohnThis was definitely a mixed visit. On arrival we were checked in quite quickly receptionist was firmly enough although the reception desk itself seemed more like an information hub then a check in desk so the initial walk in was a bit confusing for me and my partner who don't stay in many hotels.. the one main thing that I noticed in the reception area is just through a set of double doors towards what would seem to be a fitness studio with an overlook of the pool had a chair with quite a nasty looking stain picture included. On arrival into the room things seemed clean tidy and presentable although there were a couple of things that could have been better for example one normal sized towel and 3 hand towels wasn't great and 2 towels would have been better, the toilet roll was very basic and clearly the cheaper stuff which you wouldn't so much expect when staying at a village hotel, there was a tile missing on the bathroom floor with a questionable amount of dust and dirt inside and around this hole and finally the doorframe seemed to be hanging off pictures of this are included. We had a look at the restraunt menu and it's safe to day if you don't fancy a burger, salad or chicken wings you will have to make other arrangements as we did by visiting the local residence 74 cafe about a mile away where we had a lovely time great food and a reasonable meal price. The bar is quite an open space and at first a bit confusing as there are some cinema chairs and big tvs but only playing the news. We had a drink I'm the evening this was probably priced for the venue but at Ā£15 for a single vodka and lemonade and a double whisky we decided on only one when we found out that the bar closed for residents at 11pm which we found a bit early as other places stay open for residents. Room service would have been an option but from what I read this finished at 9.30pm and the is no in room phone to order such. Sleep was comfortable and sheets were clean it was just very hot as the window barely opens, there was no fan provided and no aircon. The TV also says its an Internet TV but upon attempt of connection no services were available. This morning the hotel seemed alot calmer and relaxed, we weren't sure of the breakfast procedures at all so we just sat down and were asked our room number but my partner got quite frustrated as she is autistic and no clear instructions were given it took us a while to source out breakfast and when we did we noticed it was very limited consisting of mushroom scrambled egg starnge potato circles beans tomatoes sausage and bacon. Honestly for me hash Brown's and black pudding are staples of English breakfast and should always be included when possible but unfortunately they were unavailable. I was going to ask a staff member but only one was seen briefly. There was also a High table next to us that was very dirty and when the staff member went to clean she simply sprayed it didn't wipe it and moved on, this didn't seem very hygienic. Breakfast was very average the addition of streaky bacon and chipolata sausages as opposed to tradition thick sausages and back bacon seemed very odd and definitely not our cup of tea! Coffee was not good atall however they do have a starbucks with is great because we do enjoy it. The night receptionist seemed to keeping a very close on me without speaking I found this quite lntimidating as a hotel guest and would have preferred him to ask me any concerns he had other than staring at me until I awkwardly said hello in which he just smiled and looked away briefly until I did then followed me with his eyes towards the stairs and no doubt watched me on camera until I entered my room. Overall a fair experience perfect I guess if you just need a quick room and have to extra money to burn but not ideal for us so probably wouldn't return.
