“This is not a hotel”, these are the words of the bartender who lets us in after standing in the cold for 20 minutes. She was very nice and apologetic, but has nothing to do with managing the rooms. There is no front desk or actual hotel entrance that is open. It took several phone calls for someone to answer and then eventually tell us that someone would open the doors to the pub to let us in. All we wanted to do was to store our luggage until our room was ready, but there is no open entrance if you arrive before 11.There is only a pub that opens at 11 which has very small rooms above it. We booked a king bed deluxe room, but got a queen bed standard room with a tiny bathroom with a shower that soaked the bathroom floor each time. When someone finally answered again, we were told that there are no king beds and no offer to refund us for not giving us the room that we booked. We liked Notting Hill a lot, but we will never stay at this place again. As the bartender said…this is not a hotel.

Truly lovely pub and very reasonable for London. Had a very nice feel and the drinks choice was great. Everyone was very friendly and the place was very clean. Had a little bit of a musty smell but it wasn’t insufferable. Would happily go again

The friendliest staff and really high quality food and wine The Indian dishes we were recommended including one off the menu were excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive. It’s a bustling pub atmosphere downstairs we were offered the quieter dining area upstairs but it was early evening Saturday so happy to be in amongst the throng

Amazing food & drinks. Service with a smile and very helpful staff. A nice place enjoy ur lunch or dinner and watch the world go by when visiting Portobello Road. Kids enjoyed the fresh pizza whilst I enjoyed the Indian cuisine. Definitely a place I would visit again and again.

We spent the morning at the Museum of Brands which shares the same side street of Lancaster Road as this establishment. It was thus the closest place for us to unwind and relax after being hours on our feet. Very spacious with lots of seating. It felt like it might have been an area known for weird activity as there was a hefty guard /bouncer on alert duty and constantly going in and out of the restaurant. It was a little unnerving to be honest. We had lunch of Tempura whitebait with date & tamarind chutney and pappardelle pasta with blue cheese and crispy sage. Both were okay. I always find simpler is better. Personally, I feel they are trying too hard to be a posh restaurant rather than going for tried and tested pub fare. The whitebait would have been perfectly fine on their own. The sauces didn't add to it in anyway. The prices reflect the area which is a little on the higher side. Service we felt could have been better. It was confusing having 2 servers and they clearly didn’t like each other, and one seemed to be ‘in training’. We were charged for an extra beer we did not consume, and it took a while for our bill to be sorted with the 2 servers arguing and the manager having to get involved. Some work is needed on the concept, food and service.

Gorgeous food. So pretty on the plate. I had a Delhi Butter chicken which was simply superb and a Tiramisu to finish which was one of the best I have ever tasted & believe me I have had a great many. The kitchen really does know what it is about. Friendly service and reasonable prices. This is a great place to eat if you are on Ladbroke Grove.
