English —————————————————- I do not recommend booking at 1 Graven Hill Gardens. They require to make a copy of your passport without shielding the BSN number (Netherlands), passport photo and with the word copy written over the copy. In the Netherlands and EEA countries, this is prohibited by law (Source: Dutch government, Personal Data Authority, ANWB). This is very susceptible to fraud. Also, they also require to keep the copy for three months, according to the local police this is not allowed. It is also nowhere stated that they will do this, not in the accommodation conditions, the chat message, website or with important information. In addition, employee Melissa is also very unfriendly. In addition, there are plenty of hotels in London where they only ask to see your passport and not make a copy.

We stayed in room 403. The elevator was broken and the receptionist did offer to take my bag up the 65 plus stairs to reach our room. My husband and I are seniors and we were not offered another room. My 70 year old husband carried his own bag and was not offered the service. We understand that there can be malfunctions with elevators, but this was very extreme. When we reached our room which had a kitchenette, there was literally nowhere to place our two moderately sized suitcases. I had to clear the small counter space off the kitchenette to put my suitcase there. It was impossible to make a cup of coffee without moving my suitcase. The bed was wedged between two walls and I had to climb over my husband to get to sleep literally facing the wall. The wardrobe was at the bottom of the bed, but you couldn't open it because the doors hit the bottom of the bed. I understand that rooms are small in London, but we literally could barely walk in this room and it made us feel claustrophobic. When I asked about a different room, I was told that there were smaller rooms than the one I had. However, when house keeping was cleaning I could see other kithenette rooms that were bigger than ours where the wardrobes could actually open. We stayed three nights, and I asked for some compensation for the room and the lack of elevator service or ability to move to a different room but was given no help. The hotel was clean, the bathroom was new and very clean but DO NOT STAY in ROOM 403.

Chakra was friendly at checkin - very helpful, polite & accommodating. Rooms were clean and everything you would expect. Accommodation was quiet at night, allowing a peaceful sleep. Close to amenities, restaurants, tube & shops. Accommodation I would recommend for solo travelling.

I booked this hotel through our travel provider for a female colleague travelling alone to London for work. When she arrived the male receptionist demanded a credit card and her ID for "security". She did not have a credit card so he said she had to give him £100 cash which she also didn't have. Initially he would not allow her to make a phone call or leave and several requests later she was permitted leave and then she called me. I asked if I could leave my company credit card details with them as it was booked through the company and our travel provider and he declined. I later found that this was a relief to her as she did not feel safe and did not want to be staying there after his intimidating behaviour. I booked her in to the nearest Premiere Inn, who were friendly, welcoming and did not require her ID, credit card details or demand cash with menaces, where she felt much safer. The whole experience was extremely unpleasant and having read through the reviews I see that there is a common theme with female travellers and poor customer service at this hotel. I personally feel that I have let her down by booking her into this awful hotel in the first place and as someone who books hotels for business across the country daily this is the first time I have ever had a colleague experience this. I'm writing this review in the hope that it will avoid anyone else having to deal with this hotel. I shall write the very insincere response to this review and save Arturas K. the copy and paste: Dear Victoria, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. Your feedback is greatly valued. Sincerely, Arturas K.

Great place. Very clean, very quiet. Very big by London Paddington standards. And super affordable for the neighborhood. No extras, but none were expected. Great place. Very clean, very quiet. We have had the enormous misfortune to be allocated a room with the lift well running through it. The room is definitely 2 Star. You can touch the bed from the door, and the bed is pressed up against the wall so my daughter needs to crawl across the bed to get in and out. Sadly we are staying here 5 nights, and it is the smallest hotel room I have seen anywhere in the world. There is no fridge either. They have allowed me to keep milk in their bar fridge 4 levels down. There is no kettle, just a coffee machine. Honestly, it is the most ridiculous space I have ever seen. You would not want to be claustrophobic. The worse thing is I did not book this room, I booked one with a kitchenette and fridge. I'm sure the other rooms are fine, but there must be 3 or 4 tiny rooms with the lift well running though them.

I visited this weekend to run in the Royal Parks half marathon. This hotel was in a great location for this and was also reasonably priced. It was easy to get to and is only a short walk from Lancaster Gate and Queensway tube stations. The room was clean and modern and the kitchen facilities were great. There is a small Waitrose 5 mins walk away which is handy if you do wish to self cater. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place as a great base from which to explore London. Thank you for a very comfortable stay
