Four Stars Hotel

Although the location is good, the “hotel” is def not what its name suggests! Four Star? Not even one. The receptionist was friendly enough and gave me room 507 on the top floor. No life just a very narrow, steep dangerous staircase. The room is no more than a cupboard … painted dark blue with a camp bed. The tv didn’t work, the radiator could not be turned down, the curtain didn’t close and the wifi was intermittent. The “en-suite”, a plastic precast toilet/shower was jammed shut and had to get the cleaner to force the lock. Water pressure low and didn’t stay long enough to try the shower. No soap or toiletries supplied. Just felt uncomfortable and unsafe and did not like the idea of leaving my case in the room whilst I was out. Phoned around and found an alternative place to stay the night and left after just 30 mins!

Ideal location to Paddington train station but below standard rooms! Shower didn’t work and mattress very uncomfortable. Cheap though so what’s expected I guess . Next trip I’ll pay a little more and stay somewhere I can shower and be comfortable

Stay here if you like to sleep with mice running round your room. Tbf they did move me, but refused a refund. Tiny rooms, I could literally touch all four walls in my room, beds are pretty much camp beds with spring mattresses, no frills. Maybe a slight upgrade on a hostel. Location good and front of house friendly enough.

Budget priced room in a useful location for me. It was clean. The staff were friendly. There was an en-suite. There was a working tv. It didn't smell. Reasonably quiet. It was pretty much as you'd expect for a budget hotel. The room is small, but adequate. There is a decent window with a view of the street. The en-suite with shower is very cramped, but can be used. The lights and sockets work, and are in reasonably useful places. Room key had to be handed in before going out, with the assurance that there was always someone on the desk 24 hours. Of course, when I got back at around 10.30 in the evening, there was no staff at reception, just a note pinned to the outside door saying they would be back in five minutes. After about five minutes another guest appeared and let me in. After another few minutes a member of staff turned up at the desk to give me my key. As this is a budget hotel I expected stairs. However, the last flight of stairs are very small and twisty with no adequate banister. I didn't like going up and down them. There was a bar of soap, but no shampoo. There was no kettle or tea bags. The duvet was rather light and small, so I woke up cold a number of times. As it was the fifth floor with a tricky flight of stairs, I didn't fancy going down to ask for an extra blanket. All in all it was an acceptable room for the price. If staying here again, I would request a blanket, and a lower floor. I am unlikely to stay here again though as I didn't like being kept waiting outside the hotel when I wanted to go to my room to sleep. I'd prefer to keep my key and be in control of letting myself in.

Friendly welcome from staff but that's the only good thing. No lights on the staircases, especially on the top floor. Dark, dingy room. Squeaky floors. Broken curtains. Cheap beds. Thin bedding. Cleanish bathroom but shower head completely scaled up with virtual stalactites! No bed lights so had to get out of bed to turn off light. Cheap but really, really poor. Alex Polizi would have a field day!

Honestly lovely welcome asked to pay cash if I had it HMRC purpose I guess You get no breakfast It’s beyond dated room very small If your room is out the front yiu won’t t get any sleep with the traffic no double glazing Please avoid at all cost I dread to think what would happen if there was a fire 🔥
