Is good hotel and safety and nice complementary drinks in lobby and good space the front of hotel ( attached picture)

Montcalm Mayfair Autograph Collection is a brand new and very unique hotel in a favourable area of central London, and I had a wonderful and memorable experience. Aquiles at reception was very much matching with the refined atmosphere of the hotel, and ushered me to my room on the 3rd floor, during which we had a lovely chat. Upon entering the room, he opened the room's TV door, with the screen saying my name, together with elegant music. I'd never had such a welcoming experience before. The spa was brand new, and all the furniture, mini bar products and bath amenities were artistic and luxurious. My personal highlight was breakfast, where there was a general manager with his staff who were absolutely a delight. The atmosphere there was like high society, and the food was out of this world. This hotel is a gem, and worth staying here if you are looking for a one of a kind experience.

As a Marriott Bonvoy member since 2019, I had higher expectations for Montcalm Mayfair, but unfortunately, my recent stay fell well below standard. The issues started before check-in. The room I booked looked nothing like the photos shown during reservation it was misleading, and frankly, not what you expect from a 5-star Marriott-affiliated hotel. Then came the nickel-and-diming: I was charged for a tray of ice, which is petty for a property at this level. I requested a late checkout, and despite my loyalty status, was granted only 30 minutes extra until 12:30 PM because “it’s subject to availability.” No real effort was made to accommodate or make me feel valued. Post-checkout, I was directed to use the spa to change, but had to carry my luggage down two staircases to the basement, without a single staff member offering assistance. That experience alone was frustrating, unprofessional, and unnecessary. To top it off, when I visited the bar and asked for non-alcoholic champagne, the staff seemed genuinely confused. The waitress didn’t know what I meant, and the bartender just said he’d “check the bar.” No product knowledge, no alternatives, just awkward silence. While the hotel may have been “recently renovated,” it’s clear that cosmetic upgrades cannot mask poor service, untrained staff, and a lack of hospitality culture. There are far better options in London especially within the Marriott portfolio that actually recognise and appreciate guest loyalty. This isn’t one of them. I won’t be returning.

We had a really lovely stay at the hotel and truly enjoyed our time. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, and everything was clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made the whole experience even more pleasant. We felt very comfortable throughout our stay and appreciated the small details that made a big difference. Overall, a great experience — would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

The hotel was amazing! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was also great. The concierge was very helpful in finding nearby restaurants and what to do. Additionally the rooms were extremely nice and the hotel supplied us with gifts because of our Marriott status.
