Wonderful hotel with excellent location. The room was clean, very comfortable and had great view of the London Stadium. The location was amazing, next to a huge Stratford Shopping Centre and to the subway station with many subway lines. The staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. KUDO to the Concierge Staff, especially NALEEF, DANIEL, AND ONE OTHER GENTLEMAN (sorry! i forgot his name). My wife got pickpocketed in London. The Concierge staff, especially Naleef, went above and beyond their duty to help us to deal with our distress moments. He advised us to report the theft to the London Police, and also the Concierge staff helped us tremendously to deal with our stolen credit cards. We really appreciated what these amazing staff did for us. Thanks so much to Naleef, Daniel and to all the Concierge staff for making us feel so welcome and for all your unforgettable help during our stay. The world needs more of these people like your Concierge staff. Hyatt should be very proud to have these amazing Concierge staff. We certainly will return to this Hyatt hotel in the future and would highly recommend this Hyatt hotel to anyone!

Pros: Great room, spotless and fab shower that we never wanted to leave as it was very nice and powerful. The mattress was soft, we like a firm mattress, but it was fine. Excellent location for the Olympic Village events. The outdoor drinks area was very nice, had some lovely cocktails, which were reasonably priced. Lovely furniture and nice extra touches such as blankets outside, but not needed in July. Breakfast was very nice too, nice selection all high quality foods, hot and cold. We ordered fish and chips from the room service menu and a Caesar salad, it was the best fish and chips that we had eaten in a long time. Excellent, well done chef. Cons: The lifts stunk of sewerage, I-can only assume that there are drains below, it, it was awful, but on balance it was just in the lift. The staff at Reception weren’t massively friendly, we asked about paying for the car park and the replied was, ‘it’s nothing to do with us’, maybe but it’s essential knowledge for a guests stay. All other staff were lovely in the restaurant and a special mention to the lady that delivered our room service. Thank you.

Have stayed in a HIE before so checked how close this was to the ABBA arena and saw it was only about 15 minutes walk away. Arrived just after 2.00pm and room was ready. Check in efficient and polite - room was clean and had everything needed for a one night stay or even more. Tea and coffee making equipment and supplies provided, iron and ironing board, room safe and sufficient hangers. Had a drink in bar before heading out then another when we returned. Lots of fellow concert attendees to chat to! Breakfast more than adequate. Although we don’t usually have the hot food, the fruit compote and yogurt were delicious and there was plenty of choice of other things. All the staff were extremely pleasant and everywhere we saw was clean. We were very glad we had chosen to stay here. Would definitely recommend. Excellent value for money.

Overall impression is excellent. Friendly staff, high standard cleanliness and tidiness even with kitchen. Matured transport link. Good choice for travel around London. Only one thing have to notice that the opening direction of shower door is not user-friendly and had a bit leakage outside. Otherwise I recommended.

Really good hotel with friendly staff and nice amenities! Everything looks nicely furnished and there were no issue with the cleanliness. Food was good too were decent variety. The only issues were the missing table as shown in the photos for Family Room and the hotel only use bathroom curtains instead of glass, which was weird aesthetically given how nicely furnished the rest of the room is. Other than that, it's a great stay and I recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the Stratford the first week of October 2022. The location of this hotel is great, right next to the Stratford International Train station and the Stratford Tub station. I flew in from the US so I arrived to the hotel around 11:30 AM. They said my room was not ready and they “reminded me” the actual check in time would be 3:00 PM. I understood since my arrival was early, I headed to the lobby for drinks and lunch. I checked back with the front desk around 1:30 thinking maybe they called housekeeping to get to my room cleaned quicker but no, still not ready. As I sat in the lobby I would see other customers arrive and get checked in, I found it strange their rooms were ready but not mine. I patiently waited until 3:05 PM, went to the front desk to get my room key….. room still not ready. I have now been sitting in the lobby for almost 4 hours and my room was still not ready. I don’t think they ever called housekeeping to work on my room. It was finally ready at 3:30 PM. Not a good start to my stay, the front desk staff was not helpful, apologetic, or even caring at all. Later (after I requested to speak to a manager) I did get a call to apologize and offer me some free food, I declined stating they need to better manage the cleaning and check in process. Front desk staff on Sunday 10/2 not great at all. But the lobby, bar, and restaurant staff really turned around my initial poor arrival. I cannot say enough about how attentive the wait staff and bartenders were all week. Remember I had to sit in the lobby almost 4 hours on my first day. But each day after work I would come to the lobby/bar areas for drinks and dinner each night. Each morning I had breakfast in the restaurant and it was great. Again the service was amazing and the hostess delivered a great morning welcome. Room was nice well appointed. Coffee maker, safe, and small refrigerator. Large flat screen TC and nice desk to work at. I was in room 419 with a nice view. Bathroom was nice and the shower was very nice as well, walk in. I had an early flight out the 7th so I was worried about what sort of front desk staff would be helping me at 5:30 AM. Well they young man that was attending the front desk was efficient, professional, and very friendly. A nice end to my stay.

Convenient transportation, subway station and train station are nearby, and travel is convenient. Shopping is convenient, the supermarket store is near the hotel, shopping, dining is convenient, the rooms are cleaned, the breakfast is diverse, the front desk service is warm and thoughtful, because the language is not fluent, patient and meticulous, to meet customer needs.

Getting Around London

Are you ready to explore London now? Let's talk about how to get there and get around. Whether you're flying, taking a train, or arriving by bus, getting to London is straightforward.

If you're flying, London has several major airports:

London Heathrow Airport (LHR): As London's largest airport and one of the busiest in the world, Heathrow is located about 23 kilometres west of the city centre. It handles a vast number of international flights.

London Gatwick Airport (LGW): Situated about 45 kilometres south of central London, Gatwick is the second-largest airport, serving both international and domestic flights.

London Stansted Airport (STN): Located approximately 64 kilometres northeast of London, Stansted primarily serves European and Mediterranean destinations.

London Luton Airport (LTN): About 55 kilometres north of the city centre, Luton handles European and some international flights.

London City Airport (LCY): Positioned in East London near the financial district, this airport mainly caters to business travellers and short-haul flights.

Want to start your journey with ease? Why not book a hotel nearby that offers a shuttle service? It’s a real lifesaver, especially when you’re exhausted after a long journey or a late night flight. With the stress taken out of your arrival, you'll have more time and energy to dive into all the fantastic things London has to offer.

Once you're in the city, getting around is a breeze. The Tube is one of the top ways to travel—it's quick, budget-friendly, and takes you just about anywhere you need to go. Taxis and buses are also easy to find, though you might hit a bit of traffic now and then.

The Tube: London's Underground, or "The Tube," is one of the fastest ways to get around. Fares depend on the zones you travel through, with a single journey in central London (Zone 1) costing around £2.80 if you use an Oyster card or contactless payment. It's a quick and iconic way to navigate the city, but it can get crowded during rush hours.

Buses: London's iconic red buses are a great way to get around the city. A single fare is £1.75, and you can hop on and off as many buses as you like within an hour for the same price. Buses offer a more scenic route compared to the Tube, but they can be slower due to traffic.

Taxis: Black cabs are a classic London experience. The starting fare is about £3.80, and they can be hailed on the street or found at taxi ranks. Alternatively, ride-sharing apps like Uber are widely used and can be more budget-friendly.

Cycling: Santander Cycles, also known as "Boris Bikes," are available for hire across the city. It's a fun and active way to explore, especially in good weather.

River Services: Travelling by boat on the Thames offers a unique perspective of the city. It's a bit more leisurely but provides stunning views of landmarks.

Remember to check the Transport for London (TfL) website or app for real-time updates and to plan your journey efficiently.

Things to Know Before Visiting London

Here are a few handy tips to keep in mind before you visit London:

Traffic Direction: If you're from a country where driving is on the right side, navigating the streets of London can be hazardous, as the UK drives on the left. When crossing the road, pay close attention to the traffic flow and signs. If uncertain, look for a group of locals moving in the same direction and follow them.

Weather: London weather can be quite unpredictable. It's a good idea to pack layers and always have an umbrella on hand, just in case.

Transport: The Tube is the quickest way to get around, but buses offer a scenic view of the city. Consider getting an Oyster card or using contactless payment for convenient travel.

Currency: The currency is the British Pound (£). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, but it's useful to have some cash for small purchases. Check if your card offers free foreign transactions.

Tipping: Tipping is generally expected in restaurants, with 10-15% being the norm if service isn't included. It's not necessary to tip in pubs.

Museums: Many of London's top museums, like the British Museum and the National Gallery, offer free entry, though donations are appreciated.

Etiquette: Brits are known for their politeness. Remember to say "please" and "thank you," and queue patiently in lines.

Time Zone: London operates on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) or British Summer Time (BST) during daylight saving months.

Universal Adapter: Most electrical outlets in the UK use Type G plugs. Make sure to pack a universal adapter for your phone and other electronic devices. It's advisable to purchase one before you leave, as it might cost more in London for the same product.

Best Time to Visit London

London is a popular destination with tourists flocking in all year round. The best time to visit is during late spring (April to June) or early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F).

For those looking to save, the cheapest time to visit is typically in the winter months, from January to February, excluding the festive season. While it can be chilly, with temperatures between 2°C and 8°C (36°F to 46°F), you'll enjoy fewer crowds and better deals on accommodation and attractions. Just remember to bring a warm coat!
