Muthu Keekorok Lodge, Maasai Mara, Narok

I traveled to Keekrok masaimara , it when I was from my dinner when I saw a big hippo 5 meters away from me and run calling for help but no one was around , I twisted my leg and I was so confused the pain was too much that I couldn’t hold, the leg got swollen immediately my patner called for the nurse wilder she checked on me n gave me medication she gave me the best service , the following day in the morning she came to do follow ups in the morning it was an excellent service thank you wilder ..I am surprised that they were no security the place is not fanced , I expected as a client the manager to come talk to us I didn’t see any person from the management come even check on us this comes to my surprise that at Keekrok Mara no one came to talk to me apart from the nurse , being in a premium room that wasn’t worth the amount paid , not only me being a client I referred people to this place but I have realized it’s not worth it . I still have flashbacks of the hippo … I wouldn’t recommend this place .

Had an amazing time in the Masai Mara at Keekorok Lodge. Staff very friendly and helpful and our guide John was brilliant. You can see they are doing constant refurbishment of rooms. Our room was clean and tidy. The food was a little repetitive but it wouldn’t put me off going back or recommending to others.

Beautiful Views, the pool area was nice and relaxing. The Bar area by the Hippo pool was great! Imagine a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere while having a drink watching hippos in your back yard, Awesome! Staff was extremely nice, helpful and friendly also.

Had a wonderful 3 nights at the lodge as part of our "bucket list" holiday. In summary, and starting with the positives 1. Location, excellent, very convenient for the airstrip and lots of animals to see within minutes of the lodge 2. Staff, everyone was so kind and helpful and they did everything to make the stay memorable. Special mention to Judy and the two young waitors that looked after us (sorry can't remember their names) 3. Lodge layout, very open and we had lots of animals wondering about 4. hippo pond, amazing to have this on the edge of the lodge, but be aware the smell is everything you would expect from hippos :-) 5. Drives, our guide Simon was absolutely brilliant. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure we had amazing views of the animals, making sure we bagged the "big 5" including the illusive rhino Some areas for improvement if the lodge wants to be considered a 5 star location, 1. The rooms need a refurb, we stayed in a premium room and some fitting etc didn't work 2. The pool area is in need of an upgrade and all loungers need replaced 3. Food, although it was tasty the buffet needs to provide a more diverse choice to cater for the international guests. So, all in all we had a great time but not sure how long the lodge will retain its appeal without investment

Holiday of a lifetime made perfect by the lodge. Our driver Simon was amazing, very patient and knowledgeable, went above and beyond to create a real adventure and see all of the big five! All staff from welcome party, domestic, reception, security, all bars and the restaurant were friendly and efficient and always very helpful. A special thanks to Judy in the restaurant for her happy greetings and help every day. The hot air balloon ride was fantastic and the champagne breakfast in the bush afterwards put on by the hotel was amazing. Only downside is that the hotel cannot exchange money so need plenty of dollars as cash is needed for booking village trip and tips.
