We have just spent 10 days all inclusive at the Paradise Cove to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary, and it did not disappoint in any way. We were totally pampered and treated like royalty, Our room was spacious, spotless with extremely comfortable beds and pillows, a balcony looking onto the beautiful cove, tea and coffee making facilities, and a full complimentary mini-bar, replenished daily. Thank you Mala for keeping our room so nice and amusing us with your wonderful towel sculptures. The food was delicious and varied, the breakfast were epic with a huge array of fruits, pastries, cereals , cheeses and cooked delights to choose from. Lunches and snacks were available all day in the Stay Bar with Dev and Tulsi looking after us so professionally, and dinners were either table d’hote, half table service and half self service or a self service BBQ. So much to choose from. Delicious wines and cocktails on tap. Whether we decided to lounge by the pool or on the beach, the wonderful Michael would appear with chilled water , our favourite drinks, cocktails or coffee, to keep us hydrated, even supplying us with sliced cucumber to keep our eyes cool. Talk about luxury. We enjoyed a Rum Cocktail demo with Dev and a cookery class making a traditional prawn curry which was excellent. We also had a private car on two separate days to do the South Tour of the island and the North Tour, which were very interesting and took us to places of interest and explained some of the local traditions and culture. Well worth doing. There are several different places to eat at the Paradise Cove. The main restaurant, the XO – Asian Fusion, the Peninsula and the Cove. We chose the main restaurant most nights but had a delicious meal out on the Peninsula , a fabulous private lobster dinner over the water at the Cove and then as we were celebrating our Golden Wedding, office staff Kimberly organised a beautiful private dinner for two , again at the Cove Restaurant, but this time next to the pool . It was very romantic in the moonlight and we were presented with a surprise celebration chocolate mousse cake as a gift from the hotel at the end of the meal. Thanks also to Alison in the office who was there to answer any queries, all the wonderful friendly staff who cared for us, not forgetting the friendly gardeners who keep the grounds. The days just flew by, we didn’t try the Spa , the Archery or Boule but my husband had a wonderful time on 5 days sailing a catamaran across the bay and back, and we both enjoyed a glass bottomed boat ride. The only negative I can think of which is not under the control of the staff, is that the cove and local bay does not have clear waters. The water is quite sandy and silty and not at all good for snorkelling, but apparently there are clearer waters just a short taxi ride away. Maybe next time !
