"Card reader broke down at the reception, so they need to type in your credit card info, and also room keys weren’t issued. There was a gun related incident in the room next to mine, chaotic, screaming and walls were shaking. No hotel staff checked in on the situation. Would not stay here again. Not safe. Breakfast quality is very poor and the hours are short."

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Memphis Downtown

"I stayed here to watch an NBA game. It's about a 10-minute walk from the FedEx Forum, so the location is good. The hotel is new and very clean."

Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis at Beale Street

"Overall very low quality for a Hampton Inn. Nice staff, very old building and sketchy adjacent parking garage, elevator broken, pan handlers galore, too close to annoying homeless, ******** ***, and drunks. I walked to FedEx, then to post office, and back to the Hampton Inn today (3 blocks total) and an older man on a bicycle followed me for five minutes shouting insults and ****** slurs because a i refused to give him money as I exited FedEx. There is an abundant police presence in the area but if you leave the main three blocks of Beale, drunks are hassling people for alcohol. Very sad for the well-intentioned and hard-working locals. 👎. The breakfast at Hampton Inn was pretty good except for the gravy. This was a grey soup, not sausage gravy. Biscuits were terrific as was the staff person on duty."

"This is a great hotel with nice clean rooms and comfy bed. Lovely big TV in the room with accessible HDMI port for bringing your own device. I know you don’t book into a hotel to lie and watch TV but it’s nice to catch up on things after a long day out. Location is excellent as no more than 10 min walk to downtown Beale St, and 20 mins to Sun Studios, where the magic began. Reception being renovated while we were there so not quite as functional as it should be but staff were terrific and incredibly polite. Rocky the concierge/manager was a bundle of fun and provided some great info on what to do in this great city 👍"

Holiday Inn Express & Suites MEMPHIS SOUTHWIND by IHG

"If this was the first Holiday Inn, I had stayed in, I would not have booked another time. Our bathroom was not clean, the room was stocked only with decaf coffee and when I called the front desk, they said they didn’t have any that I’d have to wait until the maids came in. When we went down for breakfast, they were out of most everything. They had a waffle maker, but no waffle batter, oatmeal toppings but no oatmeal and the juice machine was broken. When I asked the girl at the front desk if they had it, her answer was just “nope.”"
