Hotel Best Cambrils

This hotel is for older Spanish and not English families! rooms that we was given was very small and a small balcony wall which children can climb over . When going back to reception they did offer us one different room but it had cockroaches and ants running round . When I told the lady she told me we are in Spain you will get that . If you want to play ball games or have inflatables you had to do that in the the children area . Evening food was after 7.30 and there was no kids area for food Entertainment was a joke I think we had 2 nights wirh spanish Entertainment and other nights a young girl doing the music.. day no Entertainment I think jet 2 need to look at this as this is not a hotel for english family it is for older spainish people .

All good in Best Cambrils. Excellent hotel. Great location . Next to very clean beach. Next to Salou. Next to Cambrils. Super bus service outside for both. €2.10. 2 hour Train to Barcelona from Cambrils. Hotel clean and very well run. Rooms excellent. Buffet very good. Good fish selection. Good fresh pizza. Good desserts.fresh veg etc. Only complaint for me was no muesli , no fruit cocktail mix or individual yogurts for brekkie . Was cornflakes, grapefruit and oranges in halves and bowls of natural yogurt. But that's just my opinion. Labeling of all the foods is a must as we were unsure and not familiar with all the varied and lovely dishes .

The hotel was lovely and clean. The pool was perfect didn’t have to fight for sunbeds because the doors to the pool didn’t open whilst 9 so it wasn’t stressful. Food was nice aswell. The only downside was there wasn’t much to do in the immediate area. You could walk an hour to Salou which was lovely walk along the beach front or get a taxi to Cambrils but there wasn’t much around the hotel such as bars and restaurants.

I would like to give this hotel a good review but I have to say I was very surprised how it has changed in 2 years. The quality and standard of the food is nowhere near as nice as it used to be. At breakfast the pancakes, fried eggs and omelettes were stacked up in trays, they don't cook them fresh for you any longer or give you a choice. I couldn't get a cheese omelette, it was ham and cheese out of the tray or nothing. Most mornings the bacon looked raw, and the baked beans were always cold. However, I did enjoy the 3 themed nights, the only problem there was the food wasn't hot but it was tasty. There are plenty of microwaves to heat up your food but you shouldn't need to do that, the food should be hot. The wine and beer was the same as last time but the gin, vodka and whisky was disgusting. We have had local spirits in other hotels and they have never been as bad as here. One night I thought I would finish off with a coffee and it was cold, not even warm. It was 11.20 and I know the bar closes at 11.30 but if they didn't want to serve a coffee they should have just said, sorry the coffee machine has been turned off rather than serve cold coffee. The cleaner we had was a bit lax, and a couple of times she only changed the towels and didn't make the bed. I spoke to her both times and she said she would come back and make them but she never did, so the 2nd time I reported it to reception and they very kindly sorted it out for me. We weren't impressed at all with the evening entertainment for Adults apart from the Michael Jackson tribute, they were good. Most of the staff are lovely and the hotel itself is very nice. The room we had was very nice, overlooking the pool and the beds are very comfortable. I know everyone has different expectations from a hotel but nice food and drink are a big part of our holiday which is why we came back to this hotel but we won't go back again.

First holiday with my kiddies and absolutely loved it. All inclusive package was perfect as my kids loved the food. All the food was beautiful I particularly loved the seafood and fresh pancakes. The facilities were great the pool especially. The pool area did get very full bins so that could of been maintained more but it didn't spoil things for me. The room was great even with the fact our room faced the back we had the view of the mountains. The thunder storm we saw was an amazing show from our balcony. The only other thing I wish there was more of was entertainment as there was very little for adults. My kids loved the kids club 3-5pm even learnt a bit of Spanish there as the staff didn't know much English.

Having read a few reviews on here, it seems that some people have been to a different hotel to the one I've stayed in. We have just returned from a family holiday at the Best Cambrils and found it to be a really nice hotel with friendly staff, great facilities and plenty to eat and drink for everyone. So, let's get some myths out of the way "The waiters/bar staff only served the Spanish and ignore English All Inclusive" - Wrong. They served everyone in order (or as close to as possible). We never had any issues with the staff or getting served.... Quite the opposite. Perhaps those complaining felt entitled??? In fact around the pool the beer and soft drinks were self service for AI!! "The food is sub standard".... Again, rubbish! The food was varied with plenty of choices. At evening meals there's always fresh cooked pizzas and fresh cooked grill station with burgers, sausages, steaks, chicken and fish. There's a range of stews, delicacies, vegetables, rices, potatoes, vegetables, salads, pates and seafoods.... And plenty of dessert options. At breakfast - pastries, breads, pancakes, omelettes, cereals, toast, eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit, yogurts etc.... something for everyone and something possibly to have different each time. Yes there's the occasional odd Spanish delicacy.... But it is a Spanish hotel.... And there's plenty of alternative choice if it doesn't float your boat! The rooms are fairly basic, but they are quite modern, well maintained.... and cleaned and turned down every day. They have AC, TV, loads of sockets and lights, fridge and full bathroom facilities as well as a fair sized balcony. The pool area is really nice.... It is a bit of a squeeze to get sunbeds in decent places and there's some bed reserving going on..... But no worse to anywhere else I've encountered. The entertainment is varied with kids disco firstly starting a little late at 9.30pm. Yes the announcements are primarily in Spanish first then in English.... But again this isn't a "Brits abroad" hotel and does serve a large amount of Spanish guests. It didn't bother us at all. We couldn't fault much about the hotel.... It's not 5star, but we weren't expecting that. Our only real negative is that it's located not quite in Cambrils and not quite in Salou and feels like an in-between place. The hotel is only 50metres from a very nice beach though. We'd definitely stay again.

It's a nice hotel, very big. Breakfast is fine, plenty to choose from. There are signs that say the beds by the pool are for everybody and can't be claimed. But that's a joke. We were there for 5 days and not once we could stay at the poolarea. People with lots of towels came early to leave them there and nobody else could get a bed or even a chair. Rooms are good, balcony is fine, so that made our holiday. Luckily we didn't have all inclusive so we got to go out for our meals. But most of the people who had all inclusive (most English) are disgusting. Always hope to stay in a hotel without them, but no such luck here.

After experiencing what we have during this trip and then reading the reviews to then find we aren’t the only ones is shocking. After reading the hotels responses to these very honest and true reviews just makes it even worse, its a kind way of being called a liar. Please believe the reviews regarding majority of the staff and their attitude towards English guests, the entertainment is 80% in Spanish and 20% in somewhat broken English. The children’s mini disco starts at 9:30pm where my children along with other little ones were falling asleep and didn’t get to enjoy it. If you are all inclusive you have cocktails out of a machine that looks outdated and are sour or not drinkable at best BUT if you are paying they will make you a fresh cocktail. They priorities the Spanish guests and will ignore the children if sent up alone but are a lot more warm welcoming to the Spanish this is known to be true, after speaking to other English guests that aren’t in our party have had the exact same treatment. The food is subpar at best 2 stars and very basic if you don’t count the pigs trotters that are served more or less everyday, some of the heat lamps do not work and while waiting for “fresh” food to come out (plain rice and chips) when brought out were freezing and I promise this is no exaggeration. I have not seen one “chef” probe any of the food to make sure it’s up to temperature either. The head chef walks around with a smile on his face but quite frankly I’d be ashamed. It is true that majority of the food is not labeled at all. Throughout the week I’ve had to eat pasta, chips when not raw and cold (from the snack bar), there aren’t enough restaurants around within the vicinity of the hotel either but luckily enough Burger King to deliver. Now the pool is lovely apart from my child along with 3 other children and 2 other adults (not within our party) have cut their feet on broken tiles within the pool. You can at times see dried blood around the pool at times due to this and the entertainment staff come out to engage the children which is amazing. Luckily enough our room didn’t have cockroaches but the size of our room is a shame and I will say a massive well done to the cleaners as they really take pride in their work and can be seen very early in the morning making sure the hotel is up to standard. As for approaching the staff to help with our issues we have been told we don’t have any rooms as we were a party of 4 but have had to leave our suitcases on the balcony due to lack of space. There is very little wardrobe storage for 2 adults and 2 children and the balcony is extremely small, that holds 2 chairs and a tiny table but there’s 4 of us?? The shows they put on where acts come in from outside the hotel are 10/10 and we have really enjoyed that. I will say I haven’t seen any cockroaches, and very few staff are welcoming, an older gentleman runs the bars with glasses has always been warm and kind to us and the cleaners as well as

We stayed as a family of four fully inclusive in late May, the whole are was lovely and we hosted bikes to travel a bit further a field. Comfortable rooms with balcony, fully fitted bathroom with hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, fridge, security door lock, heating, air conditioning and safe-deposit box. Buffet style restaurant, national and international cuisine, bar-cafeteria, TV lounge and a snack-bar at the swimming pool. Outdoor swimming pool for adults and children, games room, children’s area and kid’s club. Day and night entertainment program. We will definitely be back.
