Vila Real and Monte Gordo are two interesting destinations for practicing sports (running, cycling, golf, etc.) and this Hotel has the ideal characteristics for it. Location close to sports facilities, rooms prepared for a good rest and a breakfast with healthy, quality options suitable for athletes.

2nd visit to The Prime for a weeks stay last week in March. Lovely hotel with a change at breakfast time, no need to book a 45 minute slot and check in was super quick this time. €7 euro tourist tax per person for the week paid at check out this time. Breakfast was excellent as it was on our last visit 2 years ago. The favour real orange machine and granola were still on the menu. The breakfast team were super busy as always, they were working very hard. Cocktails were excellent. The Cocktail of the week was Vanilla Souflee ( coffee based) €7 and was superb. Also tried the Bahamma and Bloody killer (€10). Bloody killer was my favourite out of those 2. Fantastic attention to detail from the bar staff when making the cocktails. They really make them from scratch and are well worth trying. Housekeeping was excellent, room cleaned daily. Thank you. Only issue which was out of hotels control was a burst pipe repairs on 2 days. There was abit of mis-communication between Jet2 rep and Maria at Reception. We got a text from jet2 saying if water was still off, we could collect a bottle of water from reception. When we returned from day out , we asked if water was still off (2:30pm) and was told it was, so requested a bottle of water. Reception directed us to the bar and the bar redirected us to Reception. Reception said they had spoke with Marc the rep and there was no bottled water. There was no suggestion to even buy some. It would have been good to have had some complimentary water available for tea / coffee and A quick wash of hands in this situation , especially on the Saturday as the water had been off from mid morning till 16:42pm. That was disappointing as due to the text I anticipated we could easily pick up a small bottle on way up to the room and no need to pop to the supermarket. In Uk our water companies would ensure bottled water was dropped at residents/premises. Overall the prime is excellent and the staff work really hard to generally ensure a good hotel vibe.

Monte Gordo where our hotel is, is a beautiful and neat place. The hotel, Prime Energise is beautiful and lovely hotel. The location was perfect, close proximity to the town center, the beach and lots of restaurants to eat from. The hotel rooms were big, neat and the bed was so comfortable. Each room has a balcony you can sit, relax and enjoy the outside. Service was great and staff were very polite, proffessional and helpful. I will highly recommend this hotel , Prime Energise.

My husband and I loved this hotel, and we highly recommend it. Absolutely spotless, room cleaned every day and towels replaced. Staff are friendly and helpful. We went for 10 days B&B, the food was lovely, however, could have been warmer. The waiters will heat it if you ask. They will also make you an omelette or poached egg on request. The rooftop pool is a beautiful place to relax, however, would probably not visit in the high season as it is a small sunbathing area with not very many beds. We were lucky enough to get one every day. Would advise to go at 10am when it opens. The prices at the snack bar were a bit expensive (9 euros for a Toastie), outside you can buy one for approx 5 euros. The room was spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. The beds and pillows we so comfy. The bedsheets were crispy white as were the towels. The safe was free and the Wi fi excellent. The air con was also very good. The location is fab as there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. I recommend the Maya restaurant, a 5 minute walk from the hotel, 3 course delicious meal for 14.50 euros including a glass of wine. The huge beautiful sandy beach is a 5 minute walk away. Would definitely return. Thank you Prime Energise for lovely relaxng holiday.

The room facilities were satisfactory. They were comfortable, clean and relatively quiet. The cleaning staff were excellent. Very friendly and accommodating, particularly the lady who was on duty week commencing 9 March (then she had time off for her birthday). She was so lovely, warm and friendly. In general, I did not find the dining staff so welcoming. There was one chap who was there in the mornings (he wore glasses and had curely hair who was very pleasant). I didn't particularly like going to the dining room and did not feel particularly welcome. The housekeeping staff could teach them some warmth and that a smile goes a long way. I preferred not to use the restaurant for this reason. The food was fairly good the couple of times I ate there. I had an excellent massage with Imes. I hope she is paid well as she is very thorough. I'm am not sure how may people are allowed to use the spa at any one time. I had booked a spot from 5 pm to 6 pm and it was overrun with a large group of couples. Perhaps they should have had it solely for their use rather than letting anyone else in at that time since they had taken over the facilities. No staff member was in sight. It is a shame, and very unusual, that there is no separate bar or lounge facilities for guests. Particularly when the weather is not good, it would be appropriate to enable guests to relax in a less formal setting than the dining area. The food offering is quite good. I don't eat meat but was able to find a variety of food that suited. There is always someone at reception to assist which is helpful.

The staff are friendly and helpful. Special mention to Andrieu and mealtime staff who coped admirably during very busy breakfast times. Facilities of indoor and rooftop pools were fine, and we used both. The room, with balcony, was tidied well daily and we had no issues. The hotel is in a good location, close to beach, bars, shops and lots of places to eat.

We stayed here for 6 nights in October & everything about the hotel was excellent. We had a lovely quiet, clean room & a delicious breakfast every morning. The staff at breakfast were helpful, efficient & very friendly. Special shout-out for Zary.

My fourth time staying at this hotel and is always up to usual high standards. The cleaning is spotless and the bed linen is so crisp. The rooms are spacious and modern with air conditioning that you can control and a mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. No need to bring a beach towel with you as they provide and can change daily with no deposit required. Breakfast is a small selection but plenty of choices. I didn’t do half board but from speaking to others they don’t rate it and better not to bother. An indoor pool is available but you do have to book in advance. I arrived at lunchtime and my room was ready which was a great addition as wasn’t expecting to check in so early. The only downside is the rooftop pool. There isn’t much space so there are not many sun loungers available if the hotel is busy/full. You have to get there at 10am to and even then you might not get one. If you don’t want this hassle then I suggest an alternative hotel would suit better.

Stayed here for 10 days and had a lovely stay. The suite was spacious, cleaned every day and change of linen and towels couldn’t fault the chambermaids service. Staff were all helpful and polite. We had breakfast each morning with a great selection our only criticism is the hot water is from a machine so not ideal for tea. We enjoyed the evening meal in the restaurant but a little pricey. We used the gym and able to do my usual circuit, it doesn’t appear to be used a lot as each time we were only ones in there. There was an unpleasant odour in there. The spa facilities were lovely, sauna, salt pool again small but like the upper pool big enough to swim in and jacuzzi and again we were in there on our own. The beach and town easily accessed and plenty of restaurants to eat at.

We recently stayed at The Prime Energise for our wedding in Monte Gordo, and we cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our special day unforgettable. Hard to fault the hotel and it’s staff. Great location. Very clean with spacious rooms. We stayed half board and were happy with the variety and quality of the food. The breakfast buffet options were really impressive. The rooftop pool area with bar was a great place to chill in the day.
