For my recent business trip to Nanjing, I chose to stay at the InterContinental Nanjing Zifeng, and the entire experience, from check-in to check-out, far exceeded my expectations. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the Zifeng Tower area, within walking distance of the subway station, making it incredibly convenient for both business travelers and those wanting to explore attractions like Xuanwu Lake, Jiming Temple, and Laomendong. The room was well-appointed and meticulously maintained. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline and the lake, creating a truly atmospheric ambiance when the city lights came alive at night. The bedding was perfectly soft, allowing me to quickly unwind and fall asleep after a busy day. What truly impressed me the most was Alice from the front desk and her thoughtful service during a swift check-out!
Driven by the excellent food and service at the Horizon Club, I switched from Shangri-La Yangzhou to Shangri-La Nanjing, embarking on another culinary adventure.
1. **Location**: The Shangri-La Hotel Nanjing boasts an excellent location. It's just one subway stop from Nanjing Railway Station, and the hotel is right next to the subway exit, making it incredibly convenient for exploring other attractions by metro.
2. **Guest Room**: A huge thank you to Manager Xiao Jiang at the Horizon Club for arranging the only lake-view suite on the 41st floor and for granting me a late check-out until 3 PM. The room was spacious and bright, with a generously sized living room and bedroom, both featuring full floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of Purple Mountain and Xuanwu Lake. However, as the hotel has been open for some time, the room design inevitably had a few drawbacks. Firstly, there was no separate walk-in closet in the suite; I had to go into the washroom to change. Secondly, the luggage counter was rather small and high, which would be inconvenient for guests with a lot of luggage. Thankfully, the housekeeping staff quickly brought a luggage rack, providing a proper spot for my suitcase. Most importantly, the toilet in the bathroom wasn't separated by a door; it was openly situated next to the vanity, which significantly compromised privacy and convenience. While not a smart toilet, the heated seat was a comfortable touch.
3. **Dining**: The Horizon Club's dining options certainly lived up to Shangri-La's standards, with breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour all being very lavish. However, perhaps due to the sheer number of guests, the management felt a bit disorganized. Not only did the kitchen's food quality seem to decline—some dishes were bland, making me wonder if salt was forgotten or if they weren't cooked evenly—but the service quality also appeared to struggle. During breakfast, I asked a Horizon Club staff member if they could get me some Laoganma chili sauce from the downstairs restaurant, but they replied they couldn't leave their post. I then asked a chef, who promised to bring it, but perhaps they were too busy or forgot, as it only arrived after I had finished my meal. It felt like Nanjing's approach was different from Yangzhou's; the upstairs and downstairs restaurants seemed strictly segregated, preventing staff from cross-fetching items. What confused me, though, was that the soup dumplings I ordered and the pan-fried dumplings I picked up were clearly from the downstairs restaurant, as they arrived a bit cold. At Shangri-La Yangzhou's Horizon Club, staff would either ask the chefs or personally retrieve items upon request. Nevertheless, I must say, the à la carte duck blood vermicelli soup, seaweed wontons, beef noodles, and Eggs Benedict at the Horizon Club breakfast were quite good.
The next day, when I had breakfast on the second floor, I discovered that, just as other reviews mentioned, the downstairs restaurant offered a much more extensive spread. There was a wide variety of Western breads and pastries, including large and fragrant caramelized egg tarts kept warm in a warmer, maintaining their fresh-from-the-oven quality. They also had trendy items like butter mochi, mochi yolk pastries, and kid-friendly treats like marshmallows, popcorn, and mini cupcakes—my eyes were truly overwhelmed by the choices. The Chinese section boasted delicious handmade soup dumplings, beef potstickers, siew mai, large pork buns, and duck blood vermicelli soup. Even the whole grain options like sweet potatoes and corn looked impressively large and generously prepared. However, when I asked the staff if I could order Eggs Benedict, they said they had never heard of it.
Honestly, when evaluating a hotel's dining, I often prioritize whether they offer handmade food, especially at breakfast. I particularly dislike places that are filled entirely with reprocessed frozen foods; it just feels very insincere. Finally, I must also thank Sherry from the hotel's pastry shop for the delicious mini cakes and mung bean cakes delivered to our room. They were a wonderful surprise and a comforting treat after being out.
4. **Scenery**: Of course, a visit to Shangri-La Nanjing wouldn't be complete without checking out their rooftop helipad, but unfortunately, the weather wasn't good, so I missed out on the rumored stunning views. However, what I was very pleased with was the short walk—just a few minutes—from the hotel to Xuanwu Lake. It happened to be the lotus season, and strolling by the lake, I was greeted by the sight of 'lotus leaves stretching endlessly green to the sky, and lotus flowers under the sun glowing with a unique red.' As far as the eye could see, vast expanses of lotus leaves, like small umbrellas, swayed in the wind, creating gentle green ripples. Pink and white lotus blossoms bloomed in profusion, dotted amongst the green foliage, appearing exceptionally clear and elegant. Colorful pleasure boats crisscrossing the lake added a vibrant touch to Xuanwu Lake.
In summary, I was generally satisfied with this stay. At check-out, I even received some delightful hotel-made palmiers, which was a lovely touch. I will definitely choose Shangri-La again on my next trip to Nanjing.
Great experience living there for my entire seven day trip. Jessica helped me the most and took care of my needs throughout the period. Will come back again if I visit Nanjing later.

As a long-established five-star hotel, the service is absolutely outstanding – warm, attentive, and professional. The location couldn't be more convenient! The subway station is right downstairs, and Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area is directly across the street. Gulou (Drum Tower) is also very close by, making it incredibly easy to get around to all the major attractions. The hotel's buffet breakfast consistently delivers excellent quality, truly living up to its five-star standard. The views from our floor were unparalleled, offering breathtaking panoramas of Xuanwu Lake and the Nanjing cityscape. The only minor quibble is that the main entrance is at the back of the building, which took a little searching for us first-timers, especially since the front desk is located on the 23rd floor. This made our initial check-in a bit confusing! Despite that, the overall experience was fantastic!
The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find. There's direct underground access from Xinmofan Malu Metro Station on Line 1, and it's just a short walk from there to the hotel. Upon check-in, the front desk informed me my room wasn't quite ready, but they kindly upgraded my room type, allowing for a smooth check-in. While the room itself was satisfactory, there was a noticeable sewage smell coming from the bathroom sink. I contacted the front desk, and they immediately dispatched an engineer who promptly resolved the issue. Kudos to their incredibly swift and effective response! Even when I woke up late on the second day, the front desk proactively called to inquire when I'd like housekeeping service. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay, and I'll definitely choose Ascott for my future stays in Nanjing!
The hotel is in a good location, close to Jiming Temple and Xuanwu Lake. Although the room is relatively small, it is very clean and tidy overall, and the windows can be opened for ventilation, which is very good.
There is a little fat brother at the front desk (I didn't see the name tag) who is really excellent. When I checked in, I put forward my room requirements, and he was able to quickly give a check-in plan, which is rare, because many five-star hotel front desks are also easy to give the wrong room after taking up their posts, because it is really not easy to match the room type, floor location and requirements. This brother is definitely a master of business 👍👍👍
The front desk staff were super friendly and processed our check-in quickly. We initially booked a room that felt a bit small, but after talking to the front desk, they upgraded us to a larger one for an additional charge! The bedding was soft and clean, with no strange smells. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and even the hallways and elevators were spotless. It made for a really comfortable stay.
The hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the subway station, making it convenient to get anywhere. Downstairs, there are convenience stores and restaurants, and there's even a food street nearby for evening strolls. The service was heartwarming, hygiene was top-notch, and the location was fantastic. Excellent value for money – I'll definitely stay here again next time! 🌟
Traveling with my parents, our baby, and my husband, this hotel made us absolutely fall in love with Nanjing! We initially only planned to stay one night, but the check-in experience and our stay were so excellent that we extended for another day. The front desk staff were incredibly thoughtful; they upgraded our family to a spacious king-size bed, allowing our seven-month-old baby to sleep safely in the middle without disturbing us adults. The robot delivering Starbucks coffee right to our door was a big hit with my husband. The smart one-touch curtain control and sleep mode for the lighting ensured we slept incredibly soundly at night! Closing the curtains during the day to watch TV was literally a cinema experience right from our bed! The TV is actually very large, though photos don't quite do it justice. The lake view was absolutely stunning, and you could even see the mountains. A two-minute walk led us to Xuanwu Lake for strolls, shopping, bookstore visits, and Starbucks coffee. The location is excellent; a taxi ride to Zhongshan Scenic Area for sightseeing only cost around thirty RMB. This trip was truly comfortable; we ate well, had a great time, and took taxis everywhere! The room had separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom, and the decor was very classy – truly fitting for a four-star hotel. There was also a sliding door between the sleeping and washing areas, which, when closed, effectively created a private suite feel. The hotel's buffet breakfast was very authentic to Nanjing and offered even better value for money than the famous Nanjing Dabaihang restaurant. From now on, when we return to China, we'll just fly straight to Nanjing and skip Shanghai! Hahaha!!!
This e-sports hotel really exceeded expectations! The machine configuration is directly full, the graphics card and monitor are top-matched, and the picture is smooth to fly when playing games. The group battle is not stuck at all, and the hand feels absolutely dead.
The room was very clean, the keyboard and mouse were all new, there was no greasy feeling, the seat was still the kind of ergonomic chair for e-sports, and it was not tired after sitting for a long time. The sound insulation is very good, I can't hear the movement next door at all, and the immersive black is too cool.
The front desk service was also super intimate. I wanted to drink a drink in the middle of the night and sent it up quickly. I also asked if we wanted to add a blanket and the details were full. The price is also very cost-effective compared to other places in the same configuration. I will definitely come here next time I set up a black team!
The hotel is newly opened, and the overall stay experience is good. The front desk lady is friendly, the lobby is decorated in a classical style, and the overall style is Chinese. The location is also very good and it is convenient to go anywhere.

AAvaSGI chose this hotel, and the experience was super good! I arrived at the hotel after 12:00, with the mentality of giving it a try. Luckily, the front desk said that the room type I booked was available, and helped me check in immediately! The decoration is high-end and very clean and tidy! The front desk service is warm and thoughtful. I was very conflicted when choosing a hotel in Nanjing. I stayed at the Sky Sail Hotel near Xinjiekou with my son a few nights ago, and changed to the All Seasons a few days early for the last night. In the end, I chose this newly opened All Seasons. I was surprised as soon as I opened the door! The room is very large, with a large bed, a table and a sofa for drinking tea. There is also a refrigerator in the room. The decoration looks very classy, clean and high-end, and it looks comfortable! The sink is also very large! I love it! I like the tea set, kettle, etc.! The hotel has its own washing machine, so you can wash and dry your own clothes, which is great! They also gave my son some snacks before leaving, which is so thoughtful.
MM533223****Absolutely fantastic! The hotel is brand new and beautiful, boasting its own dedicated parking lot. The service was excellent; we even received a complimentary room upgrade during the off-season. Right outside the hotel, there's a lively snack street and a shopping mall right next door, making the location incredibly convenient. The hotel is also well-equipped with amenities, including a gym and laundry facilities. The rooms are equipped with smart features.
MM454024****The overall decoration style of the room is simple, the environment is very good and very clean, close to Xuanwu Lake, close to the subway station, Line 1 is very convenient to go anywhere, the front desk service is particularly good, but also help with luggage, highly recommended to come to Nanjing to play friends to live in this hotel
DDoubuposhengfoThe room is large, the configuration is very good, the bed is very comfortable, the boss is very nice, there is a request and response, all kinds of disposable face towels are ready for you, the hotel location is very good, go out to the left hand net red pot sticker, the right hand chicken soup bag head store, the food street in front, go forward is Xuanwumen, You can play Xuanwu Lake and Ancient Jiming Temple. It is very convenient from Nanda, Deji, Qinhuaihe subway. This time, I mainly came to see the Huahua concert. The food is fun, the living is good, very satisfied, boss, I will come to see you next time. 🥰
FFeibuqilaile?Facilities: The room facilities are advanced and complete. The whole house is smart and very friendly to people like me who rely on beds. I booked a room without windows. The whole room is really dark and suitable for sleeping. The bed is super comfortable, and the bedding personally feels very comfortable and dry. (I am a northerner who hates damp bedding) The pillow hopes to be diverse and let people have more choices. The bathroom is particularly good for dry and wet separation. There is a self-service laundry service, which is super good, breakfast 20 people, cheap, more categories, it is more monotonous every day. The TV is 65 inches and the viewing effect is very good. There are fewer choices for no members, and I hope I can watch more programs next time. The fly in the ointment is that the robot sent the goods twice and did not send it to me. I went downstairs and took it myself.
Hygiene: The overall hygiene is very good, it gives people a very comfortable feeling, and the accessories are quite clean. There is still a lot of water in the bathroom when I check in. Also, the sound insulation is not bad, that is, someone will hear it loudly in the corridor, and everything else is good.
Environment: Overall it is very good, there is no smell in the corridor, and the room is very warm.
Service: The service attitude of the whole hotel is very good, and the business level is also
Line.
Hotel location is also good, opposite Wuyue Square, eating, drinking and playing are very convenient, the subway is also nearby, it is super convenient to go to the Pioneer Bookstore.
MM527070****The hotel is very good, except for one thing, the king room is very very noisy. There was a road outside the room, a very wide road, an expressway. The cars were driving very fast at night, passing by continuously, making it impossible to sleep. Super loud noise. The price is similar, so I recommend booking a tatami room. The noise from the king room is beyond the range of normal noise.
