If you go to Chongzuo, and price is not a barrier, the LUX Resort is the only one worth considering—offering the best views, service, food, and amenities in the region. From the moment you arrive, it is clear that this resort sets itself apart through thoughtful design, exceptional hospitality, and a deep respect for both nature and guests.
We stayed in rooms 1301 and 1302, both king-size bed rooms with what I believe are among the best views in the entire resort. Waking up to the dramatic karst landscape and tranquil surroundings was unforgettable, and the rooms themselves were spacious, elegant, and perfectly maintained.
The dining experience was outstanding, both at breakfast and dinner. Breakfast featured a high-quality buffet with premium ingredients and a wide variety of options, while dinner from the à la carte menu was equally impressive in execution and flavor. Special recognition must go to the service staff—凌海艳、农汶燕、邓桂姣—whose attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism elevated every meal. Their service was genuinely memorable.
On our first evening, Chef Long (龙大厨) personally came out to greet us, which was a wonderful and thoughtful touch. One dish in particular stood out: the handmade tofu pot. Using such a simple ingredient, the dish was surprisingly delicate, tender, and deeply flavorful—an excellent example of how great technique can transform humble ingredients into something exceptional.
The spa and relaxation experience was equally seamless. 农丽芳, from the spa service team near the common relaxation area, thoughtfully arranged a battery car service for us, making transitions around the resort smooth and effortless.
Overall, the LUX Chongzuo Resort delivers excellence on every level—accommodation, views, cuisine, service, and amenities. It is not just a place to stay, but a destination in itself. If you are seeking the best Chongzuo has to offer, LUX is truly in a class of its own.

LleonlieThe family room was truly spacious and bright, warm and cozy, with large windows offering a beautiful view outside, making it feel like living in a painting. It's a shame the weather wasn't great these past few days, which made the scenic view portion of the room fee a bit regrettable. The room facilities were still excellent. It would be even better if the late-night snacks could be warmed up like at other guesthouses, perhaps it was just too cold these past few days. The hotel is conveniently located right next to Yulin Dam, making travel easy. Additionally, the dinner at the restaurant was delicious, and the children's play area next to the restaurant was a big hit with the kids, giving parents a break.

MM58634****I originally intended to book only one night, but seeing that the environment and service were quite good, I extended my stay for another night. The hotel is not far from Detian, Tongling, and Longgong Wonderland, and there are plenty of restaurants in the town.

GGuest UserAfter turning left from Detian Waterfall to Mingshi Countryside, it wasn't long before we saw their sign. Due to ongoing road construction and new guesthouses being built at the entrance, the road conditions aren't great. During the rainy season, it can be quite muddy and difficult to navigate. This is a 7-story building. Since it's winter now, there isn't much scenery to speak of (it should be beautiful in spring and autumn). The 7th floor has an infinity pool with expansive views. On the 1st floor, they occasionally offer roasted sweet potatoes, and the hotel also provides free bicycle rentals.

LLeob*98The hotel was simply amazing: perfect location, outstanding view from the swimming pool and the garden, fantastic service as well as a super nice hotel staff. They offer you a driver service to go to the waterfalls or to simply eat something outside.
If you are tired and just want to relax at the hotel they offer an afternoon tea service with plenty of snacks.
At night time you can enjoy a BBQ while watching a movie at their outdoor cinema.

EEatPrayTravelLocation of hotel is very convenient for travelers who take the tourist bus from either Chungzuo, Nanning or from Detian waterfalls scenic area. The room we booked had a nice view of the fields and karst mountains. What a beautiful sight to behold indeed. During the day, it can get noisy with all the comings and goings in the village and all around but at night, it was very quiet. The rooftop terrace was very nice and not busy when we were there. Breakfast was enjoyable with steamed buns, corn, soup noodles and boiled sweet potatoes- a healthy start for a very busy day. The very nice lady in charge of breakfast offered us breakfast on our check in day (we arrived at 10:30) and made sure we had enough to eat before sending us off to explore! We had never met a B&B operator who was so caring and generous. On our check out day, even though she was still busy with guests, she rushed out to bid us a fond farewell and a safe onward trip. Front desk and cleaning team were all very friendly, always smiling and helpful. All in all, a very warm and pleasant stay at Mingshi Scenic Area.

GGuest UserBooked this hotel when going to Detian Waterfall. You can avoid traffic jams during holidays. When we came out of the scenic area and saw the long queues on the road for several kilometers, we were lucky. The hotel is in the Old Kapok Scenic Area. The environment is good. You can also take pictures of the boundary monument. The tent room is really small but complete.

AAnonymous UserReally lovely guesthouse in the Mingshi scenic area with very warm and welcoming owners. The area is quite peaceful and rural. They make delicious home-style cooking using rice and vegetables grown in their own fields, which you can see at the back of the building.
We stayed here during our visit to Detian Waterfall, and also explored the Mingshi landscapes. The bus to Detian Waterfall passes through the village every morning at 8:30, so you can save some money on transportation to get there.
Our hosts got us free entry to the Mingshi Tian Yuan park in the evening to watch the Zhuang ethnic minority performances. Usually it costs ¥80 entry. They lent us bicycles and it was an easy 5-10 min cycle there.
Overall, highly recommend this place to other travellers!

GGuest UserThe hotel is a little far from Chongzuo but you can hire a Didi for about 380RMB from the chongzuo train station. The hotel is located in a beautiful park where you can take a walk and see the 100 doors (I think it was called) and walk all the way to the border post 3. It's was surreal. Across the river you can see Vietnamese house and people. we waved. a drone showed up we left. To go to the waterfall we walked from the hotel to the tourist center. About a 45 minute walk. Not bad once you get there.
The hotel is old and starting to show the tear. You can tell it was once great but no renovations have been made in forever. The carpet had stains on it. not tiny ones. The little mini balcony was dusty. The bed was big but on the hard side. The towels are frazzling it was unbelievable. The breakfast , if you are not full on on Chinese breakfast its a no no. AND no coffee EVEN though the COFFEE MACHINE looked like it had just been plugged off. sign sating being fixed. come on .It's a 4 diamond rating but it felt more like 2. It's also smaller than it links in the video and pics. There's an awesome restaurant at the entrance on the right. It made a whole lotta difference. Highly reccomend eating here. And we did!Twice. Food was not bad. definitely order the ribs. The staff is nice especially the restaurant lady.
